I didn't say it was okay. I said we don't have enough information to know.

I'm assuming these people know what they are doing.

I also watch a lot of sports. I can't name a single multi billion dollar team go bust or drop levels due to financial mismanagement, so there's really no need to stress about ours when today should be celebrating a top talent joining us and not arsenal.

Juventus. Rangers. Maybe not to the financial levels you guys are talking about, but mismanagement and illegality and the consequences thereof is nothing new.

Todd Bohley is going to bankrupt us isnt he

Well we were effectively under the Mears family and Ken Bates bought us for £1. Under Bates we got to the point of a £60m being called which was about to sink us until Roman came in. We were on the brink again following the sanctions from the UK government when Boehly came in. Nothing new.

At this point I don't think we're in that condition. We might be using up the 1.75bn nest egg now so ultimately Clearlake and Boehly may fall short of the overall objectives, but I don't think we're totally doomed. We might be in a similar situation to Liverpool in a few years watching others developing whilst our cupboard is bare.

Juve? Weren't they just relegated for match fixing? If we have the juve story of the last 20 years I'd be delighted 🤣

Rangers were like 50m in debt. It's so small fry compared to us.

As you mention in another post, worst thing that happens to a club like us is we rack up some debt and then get sold.

Let's just hope in that period we actually build a competitive stadium.

So if we go through January without bringing in a midfielder. Is the narrative going to be that Potter has neglected midfield and needs to take the consequences for our poor results?

We can't even register players now after Mudryk and we will struggle to offload anyone when everyone knows we are desperate to clear the squad out. This is all so backwards.
Imagine trying to offload Pulisic or Ziyech now? Whoever we try to sell too will just say "we know you have 15 attackers and are desperate for several to leave, we'll give you a pound" for player X.

Id rather we wait for summer to get the right midfielder than just buy anyone. Do we really need to buy anyone more than Rice, that Russian fella and Zakaria?

We had the chance to land Enzo. He was very much the right midfielder.

We've essentially decided to land Mudryk + Felix for four months over a top midfielder that could have had a transformative impact.

I think some people have placed a bit too much weight on Enzo and not enough on Mudryk.

Mudryk we've spent €70m (£62m) on. We bid €85m on Enzo and got turned down. We decided against bidding €120m because we didn't want to get our pants pulled down again like last summer.

I'd take the 2 quid and save £16,000,000 in wages in a year.

Well we as fans on here are worried. Maybe we should stop worrying as the owners must know what they are doing

I think it's only natural to be concerned. We have seen countless clubs over the years get into a lot of trouble when it comes to the amount of money spent and very few have spent the amount we have spent in the past 6 months.

The last few years of Roman Abramovich, everybody was telling me we can't spend like we used to because of FFP and we may have to sell some players to fund the next big signing, Boehly and co have come in and done the complete opposite. Less than 24 hours ago, we have articles saying the owners want to reduce the wage bill at the club and they have learned lessons from a few months ago when it comes to overspending on players, but they have done the complete opposite pretty much immediately.

So what is actually going on? Was Roman Abramovich under spending in his last few years? Have the new owners learned anything and do they really want to reduce the wage bill when they do the complete opposite a few hours later?

What are mudryks wages?

I just find some of our fans mad at the moment.

We spend 62m quid on a player and everyone says Boehly is spending the club into the ground. We walk away from spending 100m on another and suddenly he doesn't know what we need and we will never win a trophy again.

Plus £30 million in presumably easily reached add-ons.

Winning the league and champions league are two of the significant ones according to Fabrizio

Not true actually (atleast not for this season).

For now Mudryk falls into the U21 category, meaning he doesn't have to be registered in that context until next season.

Cucurella was daylight robbery as a 2nd choice left back. Made no sense then and doesn't now.

It made sense. Chilwell was recovering from a serious injury and needed time to recover and as we speak is injured again. If Cucurella started the season strong, no one would say that it made no sense. To build a team capable of challenging for major honours, you need to spend. When we have gone for cheaper players in the past (Zappacosta, Emerson) we have been criticized and when we go for players now who haven't hit heights running, the board will still get flack. Cucurella was brilliant at Brighton. But because he has started the season slowly and looked a little out hid depth, fans have already decided it is a waste of time. It may not work out but I defo don't agree that it did not make sense. The wingbacks are crucial to our system and when James and Chilwell were out, we saw how much it affected us and getting a player on paper who offered everything in that position made sense.

I was travelling between Leeds and Zagreb so didn't see any of those games but I felt he was fine against Everton as a sub and brilliant vs Tottenham. And after i returned looked good.

It was after his bout with illness things started going wrong.

I'm thoroughly enjoying people on this forum questioning whether billionaires know how to run a business.

You dont have to run faster than a horse to commentate on horse racing, and you dont have to be a better player than Messi to criticise his performance. According to your logic, why wouldnt you enjoy how people in this forum question the performance of our professional players on the pitch when none of us played professionally before?

Farhad Moshiri is a billionaire, look at what happened in Everton now. They are in deep financial trouble because of stupid purchase and overspending on busts, and now they are close to relegation and have no way to reinforce the team because they dont have any more money under FFP.

We are in a serious threat of Doing a Leeds if Todd Bohley keeps spending stupid money on overpriced player that doesnt fit the holes in the team. 1~2 more season like this one we are f**king done.

They are not immune to financial cock ups especially when it comes to football clubs Hicks and Gillett and Randy Lerner all American as well.

You went to Zagreb away fair play to you only about 300-400 Chelsea there I would say.

There's a logic to what we are doing now. We are buying players before their peak at values that seem relatively reasonable. 30m for a capped french CB and 62m for someone who has lit up the cl this year. Both in the under 21 bracket and on contracts that will mean we retain their services as they reach their peak.

We don't know what we are spending on wages, we don't know what the add ons are.

What Everton was doing had no logic. Players that no one else wanted reaching the end of their careers.

Not every business is the same and every billlionaire made their billions differently.

There're plenty of things to criticize how Todd is running the club.

Nah I was travelling as I was in South America haha.

Usually I'd watch the games even when away but I was on a group trip that meant I was always busy during the games (from what I've heard about those games I got very lucky).
