Yes. The best we can hope is that Clearlake don't have to make too many decisions. Because as we have seen almost every decision they make is terrible.

Hopefully we stay in the league. Won't always get sides as bad as the 3 promoted sides coming up.

How about we actually attempt to sign some professional adult footballers not more kids from all over the world who haven't even broken into their teams in 4th rate leagues

This is what I don't understand you spent £1b on your team but it's at least 5 times worse than the team you gutted to spend all that money.

How silly can a man be? Defo not that silly, so shows you it's come from a position of absolutely being clueless about football.

I really hate when Americans get involved in real football. They should stick to American football.

Agreed. Right now we are one of the worst teams in the Premier League as it is.

I think Clearlake have been badly let down by Stewart and Winstanley to be honest ... although you can always blame them for hiring the pair of them in the first place LOL

it is their idea to go for all these unproven talents and sign them for 100 years of contract, stop blaming others

We have a cultural issue at the club, compounded by poor decision making, lack of talent, and inability of players being available.

I don't know how they turn this around.  Maybe a year or two in the Championship would humble this group.

I hope the matchday fans start turning on him and the rest of this ownership group soon. At the very least we need some chanting and banners against them. They can't do this and then just silently get away with it and let the players and managers take all the blame.

Why would they care if there's a full stadium lining their pockets? Most of which will have club merchandise on their person.

We've seen with United it would no impact whatsoever.

Didn't say they would care. But it would make me feel better.

Well, this is a private equity deal after all and reputation and PR will mean a lot for Clearlake. They have a board that could pull the plug and sell the "project" for a loss before they take further PR hits.

Their reputation is already in tatters of course but its only getting worse and if everyone at Stamford Bridge turned on them that could actually do it.

Could’ve used our own youth first and end in this position and saved a fortune. Then realise you need established, experienced players in your team.

I was thinking the same. We did much better when we took that approach during the transfer ban.

Half way point of last season we had 26 points, and that was considered pretty awful (not to mention heavily skewed by 10 from our first 6 games under TT). However, for us to even meet that low benchmark we would need to win get 7 points from our next 3 games. At the moment that feels unlikely. So, despite last season being awful under the new owners, and huge amounts spent on new players, we are currently on course to set a new low this season.

Summed up I think when you consider we spent over 100m alone on 2 players who had long term injuries when we bought them and have yet to feature for the first team.

Quantifying ability is difficult. Unless this player has the talent of Eden Hazard, the one quality that a target needs to have is work rate. I see the likes of Bernardo Silva and David Silva, small technical players but work their f**king bollocks off, and then I see Sterling and Mudryk, it pissess me off.

The Premier League is unforgiving. If a player doesn't want to run, check them off the scouting list.

I'm surprised we haven't heard of any internal rumblings. Surely, Clearlake and co. can't be looking at this mess and think everything's alright. How much more sh*t has to hit the fan?

Bang on.

Fitness, energy, intensity is the bedrock, the absolute minimum. The skill and technique takes care of itself. Every single professional has this to some degree, its the alliance of technique to workmate and intensity that separates the elite.

Does he even still attend matches as he did in early days of his premiership (he does rule roughshod after all)?

Once upon a time I never missed a second of our games , now even if the game is on right in front of me I can't even focus on it.

Because the Chelsea ethos built over 20 years was still in the organisation. Didn't matter who was on the pitch, we had a cultural identity and with Frank in place during ban (why even though he is a useless manager, I wanted him to be interim after Potter to help pass on that ethos to the new players as apart from him not a lot of people could anymore) he could stick to that winning, never quit, never say die attitude infused with his own brand of progressive football.

TB and cronies have executed their strategies so poorly and anyone who knew football could see from a distance what a huge gamble he was taking.

For you to invest £300m for a manager and sack him soon after the transfer window closes, no matter what the issue is means you have not approached things from a purely football angle and even business wise, you deserve to be questioned.

But then of course, you could have sacked the whole operational management team but asked them to chart a path over the next two seasons for the club before they left and they'd have done so willingly because tell you what Todd, they all loved and believed in the club.

For you and your cronies, it's just another investment vehicle you are hoping to profit from.

Sadly we’ve turned into that bottom half team that used to annoyingly turned up against us then carried on being sh*t after beating us.  Arsenal and City fans must be scratching their heads wondering how they dropped points against this sh*t show of a team.

Dependable top 4 to consistent bottom half in one season is quite some achievement.  Don’t think any of the many bidders would have accomplished this as quickly as Clearlake.  Well done.

I suspect Ratcliffe would have had at least some sense of reasoned business strategy in the market that has some familiarity with. But we wouldn't have wanted him as he's a Man Utd fan!

If I remember correctly he didn't actually put a bid together in the end, despite being rumored to have some interest.
