Where are they supposed to be? They finished 15th last season.

November 27, 20232 yr Today's rumours are saying Pochettino and the board have agreed to put the following players up for sale on January: 1. Broja 2. Maatsen. 3. Chalobah 4. Madueke. In addition to this the board also want to sell Gallagher, but Pochettino is trying to convince them not to.
November 27, 20232 yr Problem is, if we try to sell people like Madeuke, Mudryk, etc... who were brought in by this lot - they are on insanely long deals. So people will know we're desperate to get rid and will offer peanuts. It was always bound to backfire signing so many of these youngsters to long deals. I can see us being stuck with the majority of them for a long time.
November 27, 20232 yr Good luck trying to get our money back let alone making a profit on Madeuke. Once we sold the club grown youth under Roman era ( Chalobah, Gallagher etc), we will be left with the expensive youth Boehly recruited, unless they turn out to be exceptional, not going to get our investment back.

Yup, fit and proper owners this lot are.

If they sell Broja, watch him go on to be twice the player Jackson is. This may already be the case.

I would excpect the first three to be pure profit sales with maybe Madueke out on loan due to the aforementioned long term deal he is on.
November 28, 20232 yr Poch can plead all he wants but the club have dug themselves into another FFP catastrophe where we will likely have to sell both Broja and Gallagher.

November 28, 20232 yr Selling Broja is a huge mistake. If they are doing that then they better bring in a ready-made striker on the level of Nkunku because there's no point selling Broja and signing another raw player like Jackson.
November 28, 20232 yr Its a minimum of 8 plus more seasons before they (Clearlake) can even contemplate selling Chelsea for a huge profit as is their long term plan no doubt. Drink that in people - EIGHT MORE SEASONS at least under CLEARLAKE/ TODD BULLY Ownership 😱 And some how I don't think there will be little if any at all any learning curve, just 8 more seasons like the 1 and a 1/3rd we've already experienced. So you can bet your bottom dollar that all the academy players graduates like James and all the promising lads currently at the academy will be sold to counteract the financial calamity that's potentially waiting just over the horizon.

You do have to wonder if they are looking to sell Conor otherwise there’s no reason not to offer him a new contract.

Certainly could be on the cards, especially if Lavia is back from injury. Considering that Conor is a big asset for FFP because he is homegrown, he is far more likely to be sold than players brought in by Clearlake. Even if he is playing well. The possibility is that we sell off a lot of the academy talent that has value in the market to balance out all the expensive mistakes made by Clearlake. But that would potentially leave us with a weaker squad, not to mention a squad of players with no connection to the club.
November 29, 20232 yr I see that one of my all time favourite players, Pat Nevin, has been relieved of his duties by the club on the media side. Yet another reason to feel slightly more detached from the club I have supported for 50+ years. These current owners really are a soulless bunch aren't they.

November 29, 20232 yr petulant behavior from the owner and the club establishment - if they cant handle criticism when they have won less than 30 points in a year they might aswell F**K themselves.. They have failed with their transfer strategy.. they themselves have sacked their transfer gurus.. Managers have spoken about the number of players and go after the little guy in Nevin.. real classy.

I don't think we had any transfer gurus to sack to be honest. Our transfer acquisitions record in the last few years of Roman's tenure was awful, and a major contributing factor of where we find ourselves now. The finger will start pointing at Winstanley and Stewart soon though ... if it isn't already !
