December 7, 20232 yr I still am a firm believer that in order to see $$$$ you need to be successful. I'm not sure this whole 'on paper' valuation of the club will be enough for ownership to see a profit when they sell. There needs to be success.

If we make a profit it'll eventually go to our Clearlake investors, after all making money from their investments is the reason they exist I can't understand why Todd brought them in at the last minute, until then it was just him. Maybe to spread the risk ?

CL is typically worth about £90-110m depending on how deep you go into it, so that would be the potential revenue shortfall. I think Clearlake will have covered some of that by significantly reducing the wage bill, but I suspect we will still need to find £80+ m from other sources, player sales etc

I think you figure is TV money and bonuses based on progress, as you said, and wins. 5 hours ago, Scott said: Well I do know the current best player on the planet. December 10, 20232 yr I still don’t understand why they decided to splurge £1bn across 3 transfer windows. Why didn’t they spread it over 2-3 windows or even years?

Makes you question why Todd is running us like the world's most high profile youth trafficking/money laundering operation instead of trying to build a competitive squad when he should clearly recognise the importance of signing proven elite performers.

Baseball players don't retire at 35 like football players, most of them are older and keep playing.
December 10, 20232 yr what can we do to get rid of these clueless owners? if relegation can force them to sell I would gladly take 1 year of championship season if they stay for the next 8-9 years we would be in national league
December 10, 20232 yr Nothing. We're stuck with them, unfortunately. SO buckle up, because this is as good as it gets.
December 10, 20232 yr 2 hours ago, Backbiter said: This is ridiculous, sorry. It's tongue in cheek. But calling us a youth trafficking operation is no more ridiculous than people saying we have a talented squad or we'll be competitive in a few years. Going into the season with Broja and Jackson upfront and we spent the summer signing Brazilian kids and are linked with signing more? Needed a number 1 striker all summer and we signed Washington a Brazilian kid with 9 youth career games? How about we actually attempt to sign some professional adult footballers not more kids from all over the world who haven't even broken into their teams in 4th rate leagues.
