Man City V Chelsea (PL) Sun 10th Feb 16:00 UK

Gradually been building up to this game all week.
I would take a point. I think we can go to Anfield and get something when we visit.
Winning at Anfield will be memorable for me especially if it happens this season, there is no team in the league right now I will like us to beat than Liverpool!

This game could be anything. If the team against Bourmouth showed up, could concede half a dozen. I reckon Sarri will use the script from home last game, play a defensive game and hope we can take our chances, it's our best chance to be honest. If we get a draw, would be a massive result, let alone beating them again.

Yeah, I don’t get the thinking of losing so Man City could be kept in the title race.

Even if we beat them, Liverpool play at Old Trafford after a Bayern Munich game midweek and on current form United can do them which makes tomorrow even a more must-win game cause they’re on our toes.

Liverpool being champions will be insufferable, yes but it be a lot more damaging for us, as a club 2 seasons in a row without CL.

Anything can happen, even a big loss for us can happen. No matter what those on the pitch do need to fight in this game for 90 minutes.

Nobody gave this Man city a tough time as Chelsea has done and Pep knows it and has no clue how the game will be played out, Sarri speaks of Man city as the best team in Europe so the players must show character and not give up after 5 minutes.

'We were just so hungry. Did we take it a bit too far? Sometimes, yes, we had to,' Mikel said in a recent interview.

'There were people fighting, grabbing round the neck, JT smashing the table and drinks. If we were losing a game you did not want to be in the dressing room.

'The manager would speak and then leave it to JT to carry on. He smashes the whole place up and then we go back out and get the win.

'What he said, we followed. What he did, we followed. We looked at him for a reaction and we followed.

'No matter what manager came in, you had to know the figurehead of the club was John Terry.'

We definitely seem to be missing a leadership type of player

Agreed, but I have to put Spuds in there as equal with Liverpool.

Even though dippers winning it is sihte, spuds gotta be the worst imo ! Although if any of the aforementioned win it, that would only be their first PL, i.e, the same as leicester and blackburn rovers. But still annoying though. However, I strongly believe we must win tommorrow/ top 4 is vital for UCL and we cant just (yet?) go all in in the europa league. it's too early in the season !

difference is spurs are not going to win it where as liverpool are looking very likely, any of us "older" fans know what a w**k fest will follow, if chelsea lose tomorrow and city go on to pip the scouse to the title, i can live with the loss

I'll take the result, but I'll be greedy and ask for a win in both games

Haha, yeah, not sure why I haven't posted for so long.

Glad the regulars are still around though! :)

For the great good we cannot contribute again to helping liverpool move closer to the holy grail.

Honestly who cares who wins the title, we need the 3 points regardless. If we want to attract the best players we need to be in the Champions League.

If we lose today it will make that objective a lot tougher, meaning we will have to win the Europa League to guarantee a spot.

Sarri knows nothing about being defensive, he believes in attacking every opponent which isn't a bad thing considering the fact that a world class manager in Pep also believed the same thing. Except for the fact that Pep has learned from experience that focusing on attacking the opponent alone won't win you every game but sometimes you need to ADAPT your approach by being solid defensively to win some tougher games.

Match day ::ChELSeAFaN::

I think this game will show us if having a proper striker was the missing piece in Sarri's football or we are going to continue to be frustrating in this system.

I hope the players will find the motivation for this game, I really don't care about if Liverpool stays on top, we need to beat Man City.

Somewhere deep down I am still hoping we will find the form of our lives and be in the title fight come May, so I want us to beat Man City, Liverpool and Spurs. Top 4 is not an objective for Chelsea, our club's mindset shall always be : We fight for titles and trophies.

For the great good we cannot contribute again to helping liverpool move closer to the holy grail.

If Sarri starts with this team, I won't be surprise if we win or get a point. But beating City or getting a draw at the Etihad with Jorginho in front of our defenders will really be SHOCKING!

Don't care how we are going to play, 9 men behind the ball or 9 midfielders parked outside their box, just need get a result. We have been dropping too many points against average teams, the rest of the big 6 team don't do that, and won't do.The only way we could get into top 4 is to get points off the teams in big 6 from now on, and not just drawing against them. Let's make this game counts, even it means we hand Liverpool the title.

I seem to be the only one who doesn’t want us to park the bus. I’d rather see us play our own game and see how City manage. Let’s not show them too much respect, they’re not as invincible this season.

Clearly a better team but they’ve played on Wednesday, we had a whole week rest. Let’s play the ball around their players and tire them out.

They had Fernandinho first time round. They however didn’t have KDB & Aguero. We will have to be on our toes to say the least.

I'm so sorry, your absolutely right - Football just all seems to blend into one these days :-)

No one actually wants us to pack the bus! Except if you mean playing a defensive midfielder like Kante or Kovacic in front of the our defenders to restrict Silva and De bruyne in the game is your own definition of parking the bus.
Mind you, with Sarri in charge you are always going to get your wish. We will play our own usual and predictable game. Jorginho will be there as usual, the two Silva's will prey on our weak midfield. Aguero will have numerous opportunities, now this is the only hope i have for this game, KEPA, if he is really up for this, am sure Higuain and Hazard will have one or two chances to score. I don't trust us to be defensively focus against City at the Etihad so any point we get from this game will depend on how good Kepa is today.
