Sarri played CHO quite a lot, he just was patient with him. He also gave RLC his breakthrough season.

We have absolutely no idea whether he would have played the kids. Sarri isn't a f**king idiot. Mount is class and a perfect Sarri player, Reece James is world class and we were forced to play Abraham. All 3 would have got their chance under Sarri same as CHO.

All too often people blamed Sarri for everything that went wrong and praise something else for what went right. CHO is an example of that. Sarri is blamed for him not playing and everyone but Sarri is praised for CHO developing from youth player to first teamer by the end of the season. Sarri was the first manager to do that for modern chelsea.

The biggest failing of Sarri was how unlikable he was. Because of that people like you never gave him any credit for anything that went right.

Lol.. Reece James is not world class but point taken.

What about the time we were losing 2.0 to Man utd with not long left, instead of bringing on the attacking player CHO Sarri decides to bring on Zappacosta 🤣

Sarri was and still is an awful manager

To me this should do it for Frank. It's not the players, our back line has no organization. Mount could be a good player, but is useless under Frank, just runs himself out of position way too often. He's in the wrong position RLC was much more of a scoring threat in that role under Sarri.

You're not going to convince me this is the right man for the job, absolutely awful at everything today. Complete bottlejobs, can't turn up against any side with a bit of quality.

Just 3 points ahead of Arsenal now, should be falling into 8th place at any moment since Villa have 2 games in hand and higher goal difference. An absolute shambles this, he isn't going to see the rest of the season out.

Frank's position becoming untenable now.

Needed a big performance and the players have failed to deliver. Have to question management.

I want this to work so much, but I think I'm finally realising, Frank is just not ready.

Lamps was one of my favorite players ever, period. Still remember this goal:

But as a neutral he is clearly out of his depth. Chelsea is the most decorated English club since Roman came right? You just cannot accept being mid-table after spending so much in the summer and risking CL football during this difficult time.

Allegri is right there. Lamps should go learn at a smaller club in a smaller league like Gerrard. Take your time, gather experience and maybe try again in 5-10 years.

I would suggest that people refrain from posting here after the game.

Sleep on it and say whatever you want with a clear mind tomorrow. Emotions are going to be running high tonight.

I was thinking about it but I'm actually not that annoyed, I expected it. The Arsenal game I was absolutely LIVID, and I mean LIVID, I should've went to bed for days after that one. But I've already accepted it right now, even if we get a few good results going together, we aren't going anywhere under this leadership. The players aren't turning up when it matters, that's massive, they've let Frank down big time. But Frank has to take blame also, he's just not the man for the job. I think it came far too early for him.

That is a pattern that has followed this club under different managers with better teams for years with a few periodical exceptions.

I feel the same as you. I feel we are experiencing something pretty special, Super Frank manager, bringing through youth players who are Chelsea through and through. It doesn’t get much better than that for me personally.

Obviously I want us challenging for titles but like you, I’m much happier to give Lampard a lot more time than I would with other managers such as Sarri or Conte. I’m abit surprised some fans decide to look at it result wise only.

I suppose everybody is different.

Great post by @axman2526 and I'm with you both on this as I'm sure many Chelsea supporters are.

Not saying Lamps should get a free ride regardless or that his beyond criticism. I've been critical of him and will continue to be if I think he gets it wrong. But giving Lamps a bit of criticism doesn't mean I want him sacked. All teams lose games, but that Arsenal defeat did really hurt and none of us want to see too many abject performances like that one and I don't think Lamps will let that happen 'cos he would have been hurting more than any of us.

As you point out @dansubrosa, everyone is different but without wanting to be disrespectful to anyone, I think the majority of people that aren't willing to give Lamps time are fans who have only been around since the Abramovich era. Perhaps that's understandable because they will have been used to success followed by more success and not for them is watching the team struggle to make top 4.

We have seen ot before, but when the vast majority of the players make it clear they dont want to give their all for the manager, as with today's performance, managers lose their jobs.

I get the feeling it is what we have seen today and sadly expect Frank to be gone soon...

Nowhere near as bad as this, the other managers actually won things also.

Different circumstances. The state Jose left us in especially second time around given the squad he inherited was criminal in my opinion for one example.

Yes they did win things, under different circumstances such as better inherited squads, no transfer bans and all round weaker leagues. None of that stopped it inevitably going tits up after a while.

Frank has made progress and improved on what he had and deserves until at least the end of the season to see where we're at and where we should go from there.

AVB tenure was pretty bad.

He's actually on the same win % as AVB now. And if I'm being honest, Frank has better players than AVB had.

I won't rewrite history, Frank did a great job last season. But it's a results business, I sound fickle, but football is a fickle game. Why of all times do we put all our eggs in one basket now? Why didn't we do that with Mourinho, Ancelotti, Sarri, even Conte (who annoyed the f**k out of us)? All those managers won things, why do we decide that now is the time we go for stability and long term? I wouldn't mind these losses if I saw an actual style of play, a system, or a good enough excuse to be losing like this. But there isn't any, we've gone backwards again and once again we'll be finding a new approach and way of playing. That's not good, we should've had this figured out by now.

Your first post was about players not stepping up when it mattered, initially I was just stating that was nothing new. All of those bar Sarri had at least two seasons and except for Ancelotti I agreed with them going (with hindsight in Conte's case). No one is saying about putting all our eggs in one basket, what I'm saying is Frank deserves at least until the end of this season to see where we are at and if he should take us further. The progress he has made in the circumstances he's done it has earnt him that (and thats without mentioning that he is our greatest ever player), To sack him now just reeks of impatience and an inability to recognise what he has done and what our expectations should be.

But all those players did step up, that's how they won things. At some point, those players did step up, for those 4 managers I mentioned. Sarri got into two cup finals and won one. I'm not saying it didn't fall apart after. Frank has won nothing and the players don't step up when it matters, even if you look at our form last season (again, not downplaying what Frank did) but after November it was W L W L D W, completely bipolar performances. Luckily Giroud and Pulisic turned up after the COVID break and we got the important points.

This is what I'm getting at, why is it now do we decide to give Frank the luxury of longterm management and stability? It looks like a very weird decision considering all the other managers at least won things.

I'm hoping he turns it around, but I don't think he does, I'm expecting him to get the axe before January ends.
