We have carried the same issue since the Krasnador game. We lack urgency. We are so ponderous on the ball, side to side, back and forth, lots of touches for Zouma and Silva and then cross which is dealt with by the defence. A pen and one that crossed the line by an inch or two is all we have to show from such play.

Nothing like the hussle and energy we showed against Leeds. Is almost like we emptied the tank in that game and we cannot refill it.

Agree 100%,I've sat there watching the games and screamed at the TV for the players to bloody speed up,really lacklustre and concerning play at present, and I can't see it being any better come Monday evening.

Whenever I see people comparing Lampard to Solskjaer on social media, I have to laugh. OGS started his top flight managerial career in 2011 with Molde, then went to Cardiff, and then to Molde again before Utd.

Lampard is still very new to his managerial career. There will be rough spots and ups & downs, but the club have shown confidence in bringing him to the club, so they obviously see something. I also think our own fans forget this too.

Franks gotta be happy with our youth.

We should be giving Anjorin a chance in the first team I think. I liked what I saw from him in the last game.

Lampard can turn things around, the difference from the 1st and 10th is just 8 points and if Lampard can just adjust some issues we might get a few wins in a row and then the league will get scared of us like during Conte's first season when he changed a few things...

Personally I don’t see what you saw but I don’t see the harm in having him as a 4th winger.

I was very surprised with some of the criticism with him actually. There wasn't a great deal of urgency or pace in his game but I was very impressed with how composed he was with the ball. He just glided through players, played a good pass, dribbled his way out of problems quite often. I thought he looked super slick for such a young player in a very big game for him.

The issue with that game is that I don't our team took it seriously, since there were no stakes at play, no matter what we won that group. And everyone was playing central, no width whatsoever. My only gripe with Anjorin was he kept roaming centrally when we desperately needed width. So... I don't think he's going to really answer our problems when it comes to needing wingers but I would still be happy with giving him a chance to see how he does.

And where are we going to get the wins?

The thing with Lampard is that he's been here for a year and a half and he still hasn't built a system of play.A system that every player in the squad could learn, come in if needed and perform,If I saw anything from him and his style of managment in the last few years (counting Derby as well) is that players get more and more confused on what to do and what he wants from them as the time goes by.Hell we played our best game of his managment against Pool in the Uefa Super Cup which we lost and it was all downhill from  there.

Constant adjustments to opposition and not being able to force your way of playing because we don't have a way lol Felt more happy even after some losses  at the start of last season ,because I could see how we wanted to play.Since then i'm just not seeing it.

Maybe this has something to do, among other things, with the way Lampard experienced his own career as well.

He played under many managers and had to adapt to every single one of them, so he maybe wants to have a lot of versatility and set up the team in a universal way or something... We don't know what is our best 11, we don't know who is our first choice striker, but then again it makes sense to play someone that is in form and drop someone that isn't.

His style is more direct in comparison to Sarri and more open in comparison to Conte, when a player performs it will be noticed since nobody can hide in this system, the same way his system demands full concentration because a mistake can cost us dearly, Lampard played with some of the best defenders of his generation so he expects the best to play for Chelsea as a manager as well.

But he's still building a team, I think that's an important thing to keep in mind, for the first time he's not playing with what he's got but with what he wanted to have, he managed to get top 4 in his first season which is great but now he's really making his own team and there are still things hanging in the air a bit, T.Silva walked in and became the captain which shows how we lacked leaders and with that we lacked some consistency as well. This is why I believe that if he manages to fix certain problems we might get to win the very next game and build on that, at the start of the season we saw that 4-2-3-1 worked well but right now the 4-3-3 doesn't really work part from Lampard adjusting Kante to a new role.

The defense got a lot better in comparison to last season, they had plenty of games and we know which is the go-to lineup: Mendy, Chilwell, T.Silva, Zouma and James. But due to injuries we still didn't see how our potentially strongest lineup can play, Pulisic-Werner-Ziyech in attack is something that we haven't really experienced. Lampard has some decisions to make and hopefully he makes the correct ones, if he manages to win the next game by reverting the formation once again he can build on that, a win against West Ham and Arsenal would make every fan happy.

None of this makes any sense, we obviously do have a system and its one we've played pretty much the entire season, and when we had our wingers available it worked very well. As for it all being downhill after the Liverpool super cup, i don't know where to even start with that one.

Fun to see Frank's formation for West Ham. 2 losses with 4-3-3 with these players and no major changes due to injuries (Ziyech not fit) or 4-2-3-1 with a possibility to play Havertz and Werner in their main positions.

I didn't know that having a system only means giving a ball to your full backs and hoping they would come up with surgically precise crosses lol

We're hopeless when it comes to attack. It is as if our players only see each other when they need to play a game lol

If you think that's our system then you have zero understanding if football, maybe go watch netball instead. Oh and our attack is hopeless, yet we are second only to Liverpool in goals scored this season, until yesterday only 2 goals behind....woeful.

So please give me examples of our good attacking play in games against Wolves,Everton,United,Tottenham.Liverpool in which we scored a total of 1 goal and that was Giroud's shot that barely passed the line lol

Why just them games, almost as if you cherrypicked a few games to prove a point? We're averaging 2 goals a game, any team would be more than happy with that. The big thing to look at is chances created, and we are making plenty of them, even on the majority of the games you cherrypicked, but not converting them.

The thing I find the most funny about this post is three weeks ago you would have added Sevilla at home but you can't do that now because you'd also have to include our spanking of them in Spain which ofcourse doesn't suit the narrative...

We've been really poor against better opposition this season. Everyone has to admit that. I've no problem adding that Sevilla game. It was a fantastic games from us even with some players that didnt really play this season. I was expecting on us to build on that against Everton and Wolves but after those games, that Sevilla games just looks like a freak result.

I think against Utd and Spurs we set out not to get beat.

It will be interesting as the season progresses how that changes when we meet the better teams, you see we meet a number in April and May and there is no hiding then if you need the points as some will be 6 pointers.

That's true. Im not expecting wonders from anyone this season. Just want to see clear progress from last season.

If you don’t see progress, I’m not sure what team you’ve been watching. From conceding a sh*t load of goals to having one of the lowest in the PL. Frim being absolutely pants at defending or attacking ser pieces, to defending them very well and scoring quite a few goals from them. Attacking wise we’re a bit in the usual dip that we undergo this period most of the latest seasons, but we’ve been scoring quite a few goals per game. So yeah, there’s been progress this season for anyone there to see.

Against the best teams in the league our attack has looked poor.  I dont think anyone can argue that. Look at Man City and Liverpool when they are within 30 yards of goal.  There movement on and off the ball is on another level....  we have young developing players and they have stars in there prime.
