But he is very good just not as pure 9. Play him as an ss behind a st or in a 2, then you have a fantastic player there.

Tuchel started this season with 352/442 hybrid which suit Kai. I don't understand why he didn't do that with rom/tammy though.

Agree, hope he is given that roll behind our new striker, whoever that is.

Lastly about kai, we should played this  under Tuchel.

Tammy - Kai

Mount - kova - Kante - Ziyech/cho

Chilwell - Rudi - chris/zouma - James

Morph into

                    Tammy

Chilwell - Mount - Kai - Cho

              Kova - Kante

          Rudi-chris-james

Yup. In Germany he was a hybrid 10/midfielder running into the box. Never played 9 until Chelsea and it was by default. And a waste.

I think his best number came when he played as false 9 but he was leverkusen best player. It is a whole another story for Chelsea n PL.

442 with tammy/rom + kai should have been our formation but tuchel like silva, Azpi and Jorgi. So we kinda have to play back 3.

I did originally write he is a generational flop, but if he is leaving I'd feel a bit harsh saying that about the guy who got the winner in a champions league final for us. His career with us has been a bit similar to Torres' to an extent, some good moments but expected more.

Always felt Havertz was better playing alongside a No.9.

We were not set up that way and think he will struggle unless he finds a side that will play to his strengths and even then he will have bad days due to his makeup or profile.

We had Tammy, Giroud and Rom.

It's quite simple with Havertz. He's just not suited to the PL.

Look at him in europe, he actually plays quite well. Back into the PL and he's garbage. He needs a slower paced game.

I just don't think he tries hard enough. He plays too many games where he just doesn't look interested. Even in a slower league he would struggle because his effort levels aren't there.

I really don't understand why people are piling on Kai. The reason why Kai is our only st is because tuchel sold tammy and Rom. Tuchel wanted his st to move side to side to create overload aka false 9.

Nope, he is more than fine in PL.

Doesn't matter where he plays, he looks sh*t everywhere. I compared him to a few City players the other day, and it was a joke. They were fighting to win the ball, and if they didn't win it, they will fight you again. Haaland came on, won a header, and was immediately moving our defenders around. Havertz on the other hand attempts to win the header, it goes back to our midfield, and there he is with his head down, back to play and walking to the RW position. I said it at the time, if we had peak Mourinho, he would have gone mental at him and dragged him off. I don't know how our players put up with him. How are we supposed to build anything if he is just going to put his head down and turn his back on play and slowly walk to the wrong position? He's symbolises everything wrong with the work ethic at this club right now. 3 seasons and he's not improved a single bit.

But rw is not a wrong position. That is how he play, he is not really a 9. Most 9 like Haaland like you said want to do lay off and then attack the box. Kai will do lay off and then either go to the wing or keep coming short. (this is what tuchel want from his st though, even timo did this for us).

The beauty of playing false 9  is that as you must have noticed Sterling looked far likely to score than Kai. Imagine if you have mane and mbappe instead of Sterling.

Of course if you have timo, mount, puli, ziyech and you insist on playing false 9, you probably won't score many goal.

🤔🤔 does this remind you of certain team?

But you're cobbling together two separate scenarios as if they were one event, in order to make your argument work.

Essentially you're correct and we all knew Tammy was never clinical enough and made sense to move on, especially with a buy back.

Lukaku, he did put faith in, and everything was going well. He was leading the line and scoring. It was then Lukaku's choice to make that interview and sh*t on the manager and club. He had to be dropped for that, he would have been anywhere else. Lukaku is a player that has to keep playing to stay fit. This was evident even at Man Utd. As soon as he spent time out he went into a downward spiral.

Yes you're right Havertz should always have played off of a striker, and if Lukaku had kept his gob shut, or if Timo had hit the ground running and kept his confidence up, then it may well, have worked perfectly.

I agree. From day one I have been a Havertz fan. And I still really feel he is judged way to harshly because he isn't a lone centre-forward or even remotely close and yet that is the job he is continually asked to do, (since the Lukaku debacle), because we have no other viable options.  Havertz is a support striker / no: 10.

But I would sell him now because we have a much better player available in Felix. Technically Havertz is good. Very good. But Felix is on another level completely technically and creatively.

Agree totally.  His bolt is shot and probably needs a reboot as much as we do.  A Havertz at Dortmund as the successor to Reus may have proved the difference this weekend but not here anymore.

Granted Kai Ain't Played Well But Tbf It's Not His Fault, He's A 10, He's Not Got The Skillset To Be A No 9 Or Striker Yet We Constantly Keep Playing Him There Based On What, His Height?? It's Been Utter Madness Playing Him As Our No 9 And Expecting Him To Magically Be Our Answer There

Good Luck To Him If He Goes Because I'm Fairly Certain They Wouldn't Play Him As An Out And Out No 9
