Kai Havertz

My only issue with him is the slow casual style that makes his passes and shots weak. I just want him to smash it more and develop thar killer instinct.

Bottom line is Kai and Mount need to be producing higher numbers in goals and assists. Right now they are both at Oscar/Willian level in terms of output and that needs to improve.

Is true. Our likely front 3 for Saturday has 2 goals between them in all competitions and maybe the same number of assists.

That's the frustrating thing about Havertz, showing his brillance for a couple of games, then completely faded next. Let's hope ( for the 5th time since his arrival), he builds on the last game and put 5-6 good games in a row. If Lukaku is out for a month, the stage is for Havertz to take over to be the main player.

I read somewhere that Havertz hasn't made a single pass to Lukaku this season in the prem which is mind boggling

Perhaps they did not find common ground in the locker room, or maybe it's a clever coaching maneuver. At one moment he gives a pass - and the goal will happen at once. I can imagine the statistics: the only pass - and that's a goal 🙂

It's going to be hard to fully enjoy it even if he does explode again at false 9 because we just know Rom will get shoehorned in again when fit.

Good team performance, and movement doesn't get the credit it deserves.  I'd like to see a better touch and hold up play, but on numerous occasions he then went and one the ball back.  Similar to Lukaku, he didn't really get any service either - that is one damn lonely role up top!

Not his best day on the ball but such an intelligent player and gives defenders big problems with his movement.

An asset for us already and still only young.

Kai is more versatile than Lukaku and when he's on the pitch the team benefits more from it. Sadly our formation doesn't allow us to have both of them in their best positions.

It is easier to mark a still target compared to a moving target.  Tuchel is smart and i am sure he will find a way to alter his tactics to reduce the amount of times Lukaku takes up a position of Target man in our attack. The one thing i think  Lukaku has to improve on is his off the ball pressing though.

Didnt put anything on the score board, but his movement just pulled the defence all over the park. False 9 does more damage against certain teams, because defenders just not sure what to do, whether mark the 1 or all 3, the movement is killing them.

Kai is ahead of Lukaku for me after this match.

Let's not go overboard on any player from yesterday's game @Gol15. Our opponent was terrible. So it did not matter who played they were on a hiding to nothing. Lukaku and Werner would have looked amazing too.

I'm guessing that we'll see just how good we are when the games against Juventus and Man United come along.

Juve for sure, maybe Leicester. United are garbage as well, their defence is appalling so if Ole is at the wheel still no excuse there.

It's still a big game for us, we should aim to win against Man U.

No goals again today but did win the penalty for the 3rd goal.

I don't think he's quite making a case for inclusion ahead of Lukaku but he's working hard in these past few games.

I do think that he needs to start adding more goals and assists to his game though.

Playing very well.  Working so hard on making runs and creating space, plus pressed well yesterday.  The striker position in this side is somewhat starved of service at times, but does make the space for other players.

Disappointed he didn't put has chances away yet again. He really needs to improve on his finishing if he wants to take his game to the next level or stay in the team once lukaku and werner come back. Other than that, the other aspects of his game were good.

I'm not worried his movement has been great recently. If he's not vacating space to allow others to flood the box and score he's running in behind and latching on to the ball and having shots in the box.

Critically, Kai needs to shoot quicker and with more accuracy. He shoots too close to the keeper, he loves to chip which often requires him to get too close to the keeper. He should be banging these low and hard in the bottom corner or smashing them top bag. Other times he takes too many touches in the box when he could just shoot on sight.

The future looks bright for Kai and I still think that his issues are minor, easily fixed by more time practicing his 1v1s. He has the potential to dominate games and I don't expect him to do it at 22 if I'm honest, few players do at that age (at least consistently) despite the 'generational' tag.

One thing have to credit him is regardless how compact or deep the defence is, he always able to find space in good areas. Nice flick to setup the goal, and should had an assist in the last second of the game if not for the Pullisic miss.

Still think the ideal position for him is as the only 10 off a main striker.

He has done decent in this time. Movement and ball control havr been his best attributes.

Been very poor finding wise and overall has not stamped his authority enough in this time to be sure of a place imo.

CHO has been by far our best attacker in the absence of Lukaku,  Werner and Pulisic.

We're winning games so you don't want to be too critical but he's got just the 3 goals and 1 assist so far this season in 15 appearances.

Even when he is not scoring his impact on the game influences the outcome.  That said, I didn't realize 4 goal contributions in 15.  Needs to double that output.
