According to all the people who vote on the BBC player ratings, Kai is our POTS so far (Kante 2nd, Kovacic 3rd). I don't know what to make of that. All of the other names on the team of the year make sense...!

Even though he hasn't been scoring that many himself he's a big reason the team are/were.

6 of those players are either current and ex-Chelsea players.

Makes me a bit proud

Not a single Man City player there makes me think this was some bitter voting here... LOL

It can't be as simple as that, maybe it's because they are so good as a team that no player stands out amongst them, so the fans that rate them evenly distribute their scores between them, whereas the good players in other teams stand out more? like Rice Lampety, so their fans score them higher. You wont get many fans from other clubs rating other teams players, just their own players.

Must of been a lot of Brighton fans on here because Lamptey and Duffy should be no where near that team. Dias/Rudiger should be ahead of Duffy for sure. Lamptey was slowly rintegrated into the team due to the injury from last season, so that doesn't add up and he also has come off the bench a couple times too. James or TAA should be there for sure as they have been the standout RB/RWB. Tomiyasu has a decent shout after TAA and James also.

Brighton's strength this season has been their defence and lamptey always stands out for them.

So their defenders will score higher than the other players by their fans and therefore consistently high. That's how they get in. James and TAA aren't always the best in the team and so don't get high points every week.

Fair enough, but my point stands, if we are actually do a genuine team of the year, them two will be no where near. Duffy has been dropped for Brighton in the past few games also.

When we bought Havertz as an alternative to buying a defender he was touted "going to be one of the best footballers in europe and you buy them when you can get them".  Within two seasons he is no longer making the starting 11.

You can't really blame Tuchel, Kai isn't getting the goals nor really creating the assists, his work rate is good but not as good as Mount's, and he isn't really a wide player.

So we are left with two German internationals, Havertz and Werner who can't make the starting 11 and whether they are in the team or not in the team we don't get many goals from the forward line. Its weird.

He's not making the starting 11 due to various circumstances, he had the virus in both seasons and he broke a finger recently or something like that.

Importantly for Havertz is he has both technique and vision. If played off a good main striker as a 10 think we could really see him progress nicely, in maybe a 4231 system.

Still personally think he will be a real top player, whether that is here or somewhere else.

Kai will be absolutely fine, it's just been a tough season for him due to various reasons. Once things have settled we'll hopefully start seeing better things from him.

He is not fine, for years people mocked willian for his lack of goal and assist but outside the final 3rd willian contribution were brilliant.

Havertz on the other hand is a player who does not score, does not create much, does not shoot much, can't play deeper, can't play on the wing.

When we actually put Hazard in the AM role and just let him settle there for a few games he'll contribute more, the one time Lampard did that Kai was either scoring, making assists or winning penalties. So far he has been just filling the holes for someone else and even as such, we don't win the CL nor the Super Cup without his contribution.

He looks good in the 442 as one of the strikers I'd like to see this continue, having 3 of these; Kai, Mount, CHO, Pulisic, Ziyech qnd Werner plus another forward (Lukaku or another one from that list) at the same time is the dream. It was showcased vs Spurs on two occasions, perhaps its time now to rely on our attack rather than our defence.

Yes defence wins titles but attack still wins games and you need both to be successful at this level.

Kai has been playing a lot of games as am under Tuchel maybe not single 10 but more of double 10. Maybe it is not perfect but pretty much all of our attacker hasn't played their natural role.

My assesement about Havertz hasn't changed since last year, he is a jack of all trade master of none. The only thing that is in his favor is his age, but it is ticking.

18 months into his Chelsea career now.

When he signed I was under the impression we was signing one of the best up and coming talents in Europe.

But and a season and a half, in terms of overall performances I can't say that I'm really seeing what it is that Hazertz is meant to bring to the team.

When we signed Hazard you saw very quickly what he was all about, what he could do.

Mason Mount and Reece James, players of a similar age have shown more for us and in my opinion are showing signs of having a higher ceiling than Havertz is right now.

Hopefully after this short break Havertz is fit for selection again and can offer up a strong end to the season but I personally think he needs to start having a bigger influence on the outcome of games.

It is fair to say he needs to do more. Same goes to Werner. Both Germans have difficulties adapting to Premier League football. It is a tough league.

For me Kai needs to be more ruthless. I get where he is coming from but I would love him to just be a bit of a c**t sometimes and shoot much more. He has a hammer of a shot. He would also benefit of some adding some kilos on his otherwise big frame. Harry Kane for example has the frame and he wins aerial battles with good percentages.

We have seen what he can do when he is in the mood, every now and then he looks really hungry, winning balls all over the pitch and making the opposition players look silly. There must be a way of making him feel like that all the time..

Play him in his position mate as one of two strikers/AM or false 9
