Kai Havertz

I like Kai - really want him to get a run through the middle, alongside Timo.

Those 2 up top I think support each other well.

I really don't know what TT was thinking putting him left and CP in the middle.

I still have no idea what this guys best position is, every position he plays for me he is pretty average. In the 8, 10, on the wing or CF he does nothing for me as a player in terms of excitement. Ive seen players like Daniel Podence show more than this guy.

Tells a story doesn't it.

For £75 million up front and another £9 million in potential add ons he's been absolutely shocking.

One single through ball all season is another little "nugget" that just confirms we got shafted by Leverkusen here. They don't even miss him the way they replaced him with Wirtz and Schick.

Personally I think he falls under the category of forward/AM

Inside right or left but not wide like at the weekend. Floating number 10 or false 9. His movement is one of his best weapons when he plays up top because it helps the team. We score more goals when he's up top compared to Lukaku because he allows runners from deep to get into the box that enter the space he vacates.

Personally I would say Kai in a false 9 with two goalscoring forwards or as a 10 behind a strike force would see him do his best work. He can't play as an 8 because he gives the ball away or makes silly challenges, this of course could be worked on.

Either play him up top alonside CHO/Puli on the left and Ziyech on the right. Or behind Timo and Lukaku in a 4312/3412. I think he's stuck with the space intepreter tag like Muller, when really he's just a modern hybrid attacker by bding so positionally flexible he is a victim of his own abilities, rather than having a team built around him he just get's slotted around.

I still think Pep or Klopp would have every single one of our attackers producing im their teams. We lack creativity in the middle which places all the focus on the wingbacks and forwards to create something. When you have a Hazard/Neymar/Messi/Mbappe etc type of player that's fine they will create. Or if you have a CR7/Haaland/Lewa/Benzema type of striker who will make chances for themselves and the team always look for them then it's also fine.

The truth of the matter is we have every single skill set in our forwards and still can't seem to make it work after a while the players can't always be made the scapegoats despite the inanility to consistently perform under 2 different managers. We turned Ziyech, Werner, Lukaku and Havertz some of the most promising attackers in their leagues to average looking players at times.

Personally I blame the board for lack of sporting vision, it paid off for the ucl win but that was a fluke, we imo essentially have incompatible skillsets and players and that is why we continue to suffer in attack.

Next season Tuchel should build the attack around him. Not putting in on the left wing or using him wherever is needed but put him in the middle behind Broja.

                    Lukaku

  Mount        Havertz        Ziyech

          Tchouameni Kante

Chilwell Kounde T.Silva James
                  Mendý

We got it all there, energy, press, creativity and Lelkeke

No Kovacic? Mount on the left? Havertz deserves to be a starter?.

Kovacic is Kante sub in this lineup but Kante shouldn’t play all the time so Kova will get 40 games anyway.

Mount plays naturally on the left.

Thanks for these, it shows my eyes aren't lying and he's as useful as i thought he was.

Mount is an 8, anyway else he never looks the same. Kova should start ahead of Kante.

Sure but no matter where you put him he does his thing.

Does he? I think he has been pretty poor like the rest of our attackers this season.

I mean in a sense that no matter where Mount starts, he’ll push forward, press and roam from the middle wide or vice versa and he’ll try to cut inside the box and put some crosses in from a set piece. You kinda know what you’re getting.

Need to get rid next season, unless he massively steps it up. Hugely overrated.

Could apply that to Werner, Lukaku, Pulisic and perhaps CHO too.

Indeed. I've not given up hope on Pulisic yet, because he's shown more than the others, and is always being played out of position. But the rest are pants.

Havertz is primarily an AM, but for us he played most games in other positions.
