Reliable sources reporting that we are meeting with him and his team today. He may even be in place before our next game.

Probably a good bet that he'll be taking training tomorrow afternoon or Friday !

I can't see Boehly doing any messing around. The armoured car is probably already loaded with Brighton's £10M of compensation cash, ready for the trip to the Amex stadium ... only an hour and a quarter round the M25 and down the A23 from Cobham !

How is Potter going to fix that though? He has a tough job on his hands

Do we even know if this guy is even interested in managing us

I honestly have no idea and do not envy the successor one single bit.  There is still a cultural undertone at the club that we need to rid.

What's the undertone...succeed or die?  This is a dog eat dog multi billion $ industry, when you invest 4 billion you expect results and you expect success. They clearly saw that the TT era had run its course and a change to be successful was required...just like when big corporations let the under performing leaders go and they move onwards and upwards...hopefully.  I don't think Potter is the answer in this case but I assume the Board would have thought this through and not been as reckless as it seems on the surface...unless there was a blow up last night which caused an immediate reaction.

Fair points. Feels like it set off a chain of events that culminated in this moment:

  • Chilwell injury causes us to lose momentum, when we were firing on all cylinders up until then.
  • Lukaku's interview causes untold damage to the dressing room, and hurts Tuchel.
  • Russia-Ukraine war leads to sanctions against Abramovich, which impacts the club.
  • The team weathers the storm for a while in spite of the sanctions, but the Brentford loss breaks us especially after we're eliminated from the Champions league.
  • Meanwhile, Tuchel is dealing with a separation and divorce.
  • New ownership change occurs in late May.
  • The club is heavily involved in the transfer market, though some question our transfer strategy.
  • Team performance in the new season continues to deteriorate.

It's been an eventful 10 months.

Tuchel was also trying to change us from a successful counter attacking side [3-4-3 or 5-3-2, etc.] and into a possession-based team and even switching to a back 4. But, We never had the firepower up front. We still don’t. AND we don’t have that quality CM to hit forward passes and make things happen.

It is good that new owners are ruthless, but are they just reacting OR did they have this new manager plan all along? With Roman you always had a sense that he had a plan.

Is this what essentially got him fired at PSG, stifling their strong attack?

Our attack isn't strong though 😂, look at their numbers instead of their names, they're all average bar Sterling

Would've probably preferred Zidane given his track record of successfully managing big egos in the management and players at Madrid and also getting some good results. Potter is gamble and hope he doesn't get overawed with the pressure and task at hand.

Zidanne doesn't speak English and he hates England and the English. So that might be a problem.

Like just about every one here, I have mixed emotions about Tt’s reign.  CL super high feeling, and of course the club championship, but everything else was meh.

It doesn't matter what happens at our club life will still be Blue Tomorrow!

Potter doesn't seem to be liked in America, currently 4th in the ESPN poll behind Zidane, Poch and Emma with nearly 27,000 votes cast.

Yeah, true. But ZZ is really not keen on England. He just wouldn't be a good fit.

Maybe Deschamps after the World Cup?

Zidane will never come. Not in a dream. He will coach French National Team after the WC. He's waiting for this.

Kind of rich coming from today's footballers and what they get up to behind closed doorsin private nightclubs and in their mansions and that's all I'll say on the matter.
