Carlo didn't have to be the face of Chelsea when the owner was sanctioned. Have key players let go because contracts couldn't be agreed during sanctions. Have the likes Of Lukaku cost 100m then come out and say he doesn't want to be here. TT has been instrumental in keeping this club from falling apart at the seams in recent times, and yes performances fell off but you make so many changes it doesn't work overnight. I think that's what hurts the most, the club has done him and us the fans dirty with this sacking and appointment IMHO if its Potter. Hope time shows I'm wrong.

September 7, 20223 yr BREAKING PART 3? Also understand #theshedend regular @Munkworth is in with a chance of the job if he does indeed relocate to #Chicago and change his name to #CM Munk.
September 7, 20223 yr The ironic thing is Roman would have probably given him more time (he gave Conte and Jose a lot more rope with a lot worse displays than this). Gutted tbh but at the same time the one I would have chosen is Potter so let's see how it goes.
September 7, 20223 yr I think first Jose sacking has only managed to shock me more than this. Have felt drained all day.
September 7, 20223 yr The guy stuck by us even when it looked like we would have serious financial issues from the ownership situation, now he gets thrown under the bus 6 games into the season. He should've just resigned after the whole Abramovich situation honestly, doesn't deserve this at all
September 7, 20223 yr .Why don't we offer the job to Antony Taylor? He always manages to take points off us whenever we meet and he plays on his own.

September 7, 20223 yr The most shocking sacking ever is Gullit. This doesn't even come close to that one. 2nd in the league and in two semi-finals at the time if I remember rightly. And boy did we play sexy football under him.

If it was me, I'd be done with football in the short term with that kind of windfall. I'd be off to the Maldives for 6 months with my new lady friend ... 🙂

Tuchel has pulled off a masterclass here. Edited September 7, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

Carlo was appointed for his European pedigree so with that in mind he was always going to be in trouble given he couldn't even match the efforts of the previous managers in that competition. And he asked for Torres (Wilkins confirmed).

I feel like Boehly should have just let him leave like everyone else at the start of the summer. The quickness with which they are contacting Potter shows that they've wanted him for awhile and just led Tuchel on.

We exited the FA cup in the fourth round and the league cup in the 3rd round that season, Tuchel lost both finals on penalties. Ancelotti also had a squad containing, Cech, Terry, Ashley Cole, Essien, Lampard, Ivanovic, Anelka and Drogba. Tuchel's sacking is undoubtedly worse in my opinion Because the league was far more competitive at that time, we came second on that points total… Liverpool and city are lightyears ahead in the title race every single year and one or the other wins it at a canter compared to the rest. We’d also set the record for most goals scored in a season the year before if I remember correctly while winning the double. Tuchel has a £100m centre forward that he apparently signed off on that he couldn’t get firing, a £70m “generational” attacker in Havertz that he couldn’t get a tune out of. He has Thiago Silva one of the best CB’s to do it. There’s mitigating factors for them all but it’s stretching it massively to say this is worse than that, but fair enough if that’s what you think.
September 7, 20223 yr i really loved the man, not so much the football we played. There were so many terrible games but then there were a few great games that gave you hope (Juventus at home, Madrid away) the club really didn’t handle this in a respectable way

I don't think that's becuase the league suddenly declined, it's just that City and Liverpool are 2 of the best teams in Premier League history. Relative to other European teams Prem clubs are doing far better now in the CL than in 2011, which means the Prem has gotten stronger if anything. Not to mention we've went from a Big 4 back then to a Big 6, along with the mid table Prem teams becoming much stronger. Truth is with or without Tuchel we aren't getting anywhere near the title, it's far harder to win the Prem today. Lukaku looked good until he decided he didn't want to be here. Tuchel didn't sign Havertz who's a generational flop as far as I'm concerned. And Thiago Silva is 37. John Terry was playing for Aston Villia at that age. I hope the new manager does well but I can see us really regretting the Tuchel sacking, there's very few managers out there better

I was in meetings at work all day so couldn't get on here but received texts when news broke, so like you have felt drained all day. Totally numb. Feel more detached from the club I have supported all my life than ever. Right now, I couldn't give a toss who we appoint - it's left that much of a bad taste. But times a great healer and hopefully it will be Potter and when this feeling of contempt for the club hopefully fades, we'll see what happens.
September 7, 20223 yr Throwback to Rudiger's farewell message when leaving Chelsea "I hope for this club that the mentality changes of sacking coaches so early when success is not there. I like to trust the process and, with this coach, you can see there is a process. Chelsea can be very proud to have a coach like this.”
