To fix this you need a fresh start (like we decided) or give him time to patch up and go again (trust the manager). It got nothing to do with fresh idea. Boehly want to go one way, Tuchel want to go another way. Tuchel jobs is pretty much on the line. In most business, there is nothing that Tuchel can do anything. But in football it is easy. The result is immediate. If we are on top of the table, it is going to be very difficult for Boehly to sack Tuchel. But let's just be fair, the result and performance this season has been very poor. September 14, 20223 yr I can't forgive the way TT was dismissed but after hearing what our new owner had to say I understand why. TT is an amazing coach and is one of the best in the field atm. TB is willing to compromise that for someone that might not be as good yet but has the potential to be but more importantly a coach that can share his vision. I believe there's alot of reasons why he was let go...a few we could answer and maybe even solve. (Like the sharing of meetings with DOF. TT didn't want to do it, GP has a guy that has been with him for 10yrs (knows him very well) so does it for him. So for TT to hire someone to understand his philosophy and represent TT at these meetings in such little time is another hurdle) But there was way too many hurdles and I believe it was just easier to bring in a coach that could "grow" with Chelsea and its/their new ambitions than to keep TT, unfortunately. September 20, 20223 yr That's by far the strongest reaction from anyone at the club, good on Emma! If she is managing any part of the men's team, expect her to be out of the door after his comment, definitely not in line with Boehly's 'vision'. Although if comes to that, wouldn't be surprised. Juventus and Bayern will be looking for a new manager soon, so never know what could happen to TT.

Not been impressed with Todd, however I am by no means desperate to paint him as anything fella. I found these things interesting and shared them for anyone who would also find them interesting, or not as the case may be. I have concerns about the owners, have from the get go, why I made the poll to see what the general feeling is.
September 26, 20223 yr I still haven't gotten over this. I still feel the same now as I did the day he was sacked. He wasn't perfect, but he was loved by the majority of the fans from what I could see and I feel that his sacking has completely sucked any life that remained out of the club. I don't expect anything good to come of this decision. I don't think we will make top 4 and I don't even think we will get out of the group in the Champions League either. You can be sure that every single one of our rivals will be happy to see Tuchel has gone and has been replaced by Graham Potter. That may sound harsh on Potter, but it's the reality of the situation. It's really hard to find anything to get excited about with Chelsea right now. I didn't even care that there was an international break or that we haven't played in the league since Tuchel was sacked. I'm not looking forward to the game against Palace or anything involving Chelsea right now. It would help if we had players that can distract from all of this, but we don't even have that. None of these players get me off my seat. We have a 33 year old striker that looks well past his best, wingers that look like they would get blown over by a gust of wind, midfielders who either can't stay fit, bore us to death or turn up once every 10 games, and a defence that looks like it will fall apart under the slightest bit of pressure. In all my time being a Chelsea fan, I can't honestly remember a time where I have felt so unenthusiastic.

You may as well have written out my feelings. Removing someone that's not aligned with your vision, I can understand. The timing and replacement though..... Your vision is your long term plan so why in the short term, which I'll class as this season, remove your best chance at keeping us in the top 4. Not about disrespecting Potter or what he could achieve in the game in future but you just don't fanny about and risk all your investment on such an unknown quantity. Unknown in terms of tested at this level. A better approach would have been to even put other structures in place, eg DoF, other key club personnel you feel help that vision and making the managerial change at end of season. With the DoF snubs recently, who can we even say is the person people have been commenting that were behind Potter's appointment. Just seems like another PR/Press spin. Boehly is showing himself to be spontaneous. Our haphazard transfer market activity showed it, chasing different targets for DoF and failing further does this, sacking TT and appointing GP because you liked the way he's been talked up in press or how he conducted himself during Cucurella's negotiations buttresses this further, his palm meet face moment re our academy products of Salah and De Bryne during that interview..... I could go on. Spontaneous is a very bad way to be in this sport I think. It will go very bad before we see any thing come out of this. We will not go beyond the next round of champions league if we by some stroke of good luck make it past the group stage and we are nailed on for a 7th to 9th finish in the league. I don't see any meaningful Cup runs either. If we grace the quarters of LC or FA that will be very good. I don't see why you want to dismantle and start again rather building upon.

Stung far more losing a passionate, caring owner that had poured 20 years in to the club. On the plus side I don't expect to feel any stress where we are concerned as I think we will be safe in mid table and out of Europe and the cups early.
September 26, 20223 yr So in a hypothetical world, we don't sack Tuchel and we appoint a certified and respected DoF. The DoF becomes heavily involved with the team, the club, and the players (as a DoF should) along with making the recommendations of finding players to suit the squad mantra. Tuchel (as reports and history have shown) doesn't like it when a DoF is involved with the team. Heads are bashed and chaos ensues within the club. - He terminated his contract at Mainz over a dispute with the sporting director. - He was sacked at Dortmund for testing the patience of the board and directors. - He was sacked at PSG after a dispute with the director of football. - He was reportedly sacked at Chelsea because he didn't like it when Boehly (who was playing DoF this summer) became too involved in team. It sounds like it would become an inevitability Tuchel would have a falling out. He doesn't like the involvement of others and wants full control it seems. Managers over the past several years had such free reign at Chelsea given how little Marina was involved with the overall squad. Given our poor recruitment over the past several years, and the fact every club in the Premier League now has money, we can't possibly continue the same way we operate. We need more footballing minds collaborating within the club and history has shown for Tuchel this doesn't end well if he doesn't have full say. There is an entire shift in the culture of how we are moving forward and based on Tuchel's reactions and past history, its no surprise he was let go.

January 18, 20233 yr For a club that claims to hate everything Chelsea stands for, they sure do love scrambling to sign all the ex-Chelsea managers in hopes of achieving a fraction of our success. What a despicable lot those Sp*rs are.

Conte massively improved spurs when they sacked their midtable deadwood manager and they pipped Arsenal to 4th. There's probably a lesson there.
