Not really. United owners have been spending for years while making the team crap. Maybe this year they finally get it right?

What’s your opinion anyway? On Tuchel sacking and Potter appointment?

Something has not been right since preseason, but I don't know where the blame is for that. New owners, losing Roman, losing our board, TT divorce, TT focus being split between boardroom and training, players not pulling their weight, no director of football? All of the above?

My biggest issue was watching us became a chore. We were boring and it was predictable we would collapse if things did not go our way. That was frustrating and I voiced my blame at TT, but I am not sure that was right now.

Once you give him all those players and spend so much I think you should give him at least till Christmas if not the whole season, as Roman did Claudio despite him not being Roman's choice, sacking him when we did seems really daft. I mean you buy Auba for him and they are together for 59 minutes of game time? Where is the sense?

On Potter, I think he has a lot of potential and could become a top, top manager. Will he do that here? No imo because the drive to make money will be heavy on the board members in power and Potter will need a fair bit of time and I don't believe we give it too him, unless we find a way to make money without the CL for a couple of years as that is a realistic possibility.

Rumours linking him to Bayern apparently. Might be the the manager to get a job the quickest amongst our fired managers which isn't surprising.

He will be on every top teams list. Probably first name on that list. If Liverpool lose 3 in and sack Klopp, Tuchel walks in.

Some on here will tell you there's no chance of him getting another big job though.

I just hope his next step will be what he wants, whether it will be some time away from the game to sort himself out or dive right back in a job he would enjoy.

Why did we sack Tuchel?

Anyway I don't think it will happen but if it did Tuchel would absolutely be the Best man for that job. Same goes with Bayern, Barcelona or Real Madrid.

I don't know. Maybe Tuchel does not like that Boehly is heavily involved with the team. This is just speculation though

But on the pitch, we haven't looked good since December last year. Every game feels like a grind.

For me, if Boehly had a a long term plan and not a fan of Tuchel, he should have done the 'brave' thing by sacking Tuchel before the start of the season. Get Potter in early, give him the support in the transfer market, and time to settle into the new job. Of course he had no idea or plan, just woke up that morning and decided he had to do some dramatic, pick the easiest manager target he could get, and leave everyone in an awkward position. Of course, he doesn't have to justify himself, that's the benefit of being a billionaire.

Tuchel will get over it if he hasn't already, CL winning manager is in high demand, he will be in a job soon if he wants to

Just shows though the grass isn't always greener. Bayern again won the league at a canter last season , have lost their leading scorer, drawn three on the trot in the Bundesliga and suddenly Nagelsmann's job is rumoured to be on the line. Coaches of these top teams are well rewarded for their services but will always know they are a couple of decisions/poor results away from the sack.

The London is Blue Podcast with Matt Law. A ton of inside info on this.

Things have gone sour behind the scenes. Nothing to do with TT's ability to coach a top team. To fix this you need a fresh start (like we decided) or give him time to patch up and go again (trust the manager).

Would be interesting if Newcastle goes for him in the future...

I don't think it's based on three games, from what I gather there's been doubts about Nagelsmann's suitability to manage Bayern from very early on. Pep or Flick wouldn't have been fired or job on the line off the back of three draws.

Looking similar to Ancelotti and Kovac, an 'unspectacular' title win followed by things coming home to roost the next campaign.

Dare we say similarities to here?

Of course it's not based on three games - that would be a ridiculous assumption. Nagelsmann had a very strong (eventually the best ever?) first half of a season last year but the second half was quite bad. So bad the he was already on the watchlist. Losing deservedly to a mediocre Spanish side in the CL and also a 0:5 in the national cup alongside bad result in the second part of the season made him vulnerable.
