I’m currently having problems with the wife - University work, baby and sorting out the house move on my own has proved to be too much pressure for me and it’s putting a strain on our marriage. This morning she left, for a week or so, until I finish university.

It does f**k your head big time and I feel depressed as hell, heading home now and no one is there. Im just saying I have no idea how Tuchel coped with an actual divorce. F*ck me, not an easy time.

Sorry to here this mate. Hope and pray it all works out good for you.

Need some Tuchel magic in final three games. He has to get this group motivated.
chelsea never, ever, ever do things the easy way. I’m sure we’ll stumble into 4th with a last minute goal vs Watford on final day.
need some points bad TT, time to up it.

Given our form this may be a bold prediction however I reckon our final 4 will be:

Leeds (a) Loss

Liverpool (n) Loss

Leicester (h) draw

Watford (h) win

I know I know predicting a win against Watford seems very unlikely but am trying to be optimistic...

What, 2 losses in a row against freaking leeds and liverpool c'mon that would require a riot!

If that happens Tuchel and the staff will be lucky Roman isn't there anymore cause if he were someone would be flying out of the window

As @Dean has rightly said without the Roman issues we probably would not have such a mess.

If however it was a normal year and this had happened then every chance TT is sacked at the end of the year.

How was that disrespectful? He is a top level manager but he put in a really poor performance with his changes, they cost us the game.

Bringing sarr and switching to back 4 helped us

Respectfully disagree their Bob. Our left side allowed the cross in for the equalizer.

Imo the right call was Chalobah, I don't believe with him on the right side of our back 3 Coady wins that header. Trev is very good in the air.

I agree that bringing Trev would have been better but bringing sarr and switching to 442 helped us defend better. Yes eventually sarr was just being sarr n Mendy needed to either catch or punch that ball, that was kepaesque.

It was a really good Kepa impression. Start to come, wet yourself, take a step back and fall in a lump hoping the ball hits you.

His last good match for us was the league cup final. He has not made a single world class save since then. Even the Saints keeper who let in 6 against us had a better game that day than Mendy has since the League cup final.

Honestly he is just plain awful at the mo.

As ever with these things, there is never simply 1 thing to blame.

I will start off by saying that I want TT to stay, as I think he is the best around that we can get at the moment. The hire/fire approach is rotten to the core, and I am happy for TT to be given time.

But...

He is not blameless. The easy accusation is blaming for subs, such as Sarr coming on yesterday. Sarr clearly is not a player who brings calm and composure to the team, so this was a bad sub at that time.

But for me, the issues run deeper than that and the bigger issues that Tommy T needs to address are:

1) the malaise and lack of effort that seems to seep into this team far to regularly. If players come out and start slowly, then the answer is simply, dont pick them.

2) the slow and stagnant build up play. Our play is so slow, so predictable and so easy to play against. It really feels like the football equivalent of painting by numbers.

3) the system. 5 at the back has been good for us, but we need a plan b. That plan be isnt pushing reece 2 meters further forward, and Azpi 2 meters wider. These tiny tweaks are not a genuine change of system. We have very little variety and again, have been figured out. That would be fine if our players were good enough/played with a high enough intensity to mitigate against teams figuring us out, but they are not.

I really would like to know why we are always so pathetically slow and boring,is its the players or Tuchel's fault.

both -  The players for actually playing that way, and TT for allowing the players to play that way and/or continuing to pick them after they do

We’ve been like that since the Conte second season, Sarri-ball was also some of the most boring mind numbing tripe I’ve seen for a while. It’s got to be a mentality issue within the squad by now hasn’t it?

You would have thought Tuchel would have drummed into them starting fast,a few times we have done it but you could count them on one hand.

Tuchel gave different instructions for the match in Madrid and the players accepted that gameplan. So IMO the most of  it is down to the instructions given and the team tries to play them out. After all Tuchel did state prior to this last match that our errors have cost us, he doesn't really point out that it's an issue to keep the ball and to start slowly if we are to win by the minimal margin in the end. And you can see the logic in there, we can concede goals even while having 65%+ possession so while our full-backs are not in the best shape Tuchel is maybe more conservative when it comes down to playing an open game.

It would be more exciting to play an open game against most teams, but the most teams we play against are well aware that such an option would also hurt them so it ends up in being a slower match as a result because they give away possession in order to not concede easy goals and we play slower in order to not make any blunder.

Our home form this year is nothing short of disastrous. What has happened to the fortress that Stamford Bridge used to be? Off field issues are carrying the blame but these issues have been around far longer than the sanctions( which have no doubt killed the soul of the club). Since we beat Norwich in October we have managed a paltry four home wins…three of which has required a last minute goal! Top four is no longer a given, matches before and after a cup final are notoriously hard with players minds and bodies being elsewhere. It is still very much in our own hands but  who would seriously bet on us achieving the two wins required if we are not to rely on others?

Just thinking back on yesterday.

Lukaku scores a great goal in open play, simplistic and neatly executed.

Pulisic get's the miscontrol from the defender one touch to control, looks up, Lukaku points and runs and the ball arrives, one touch and goal.

Why does this not happen more frequently.

Well normally Pulisic gets the ball under pressure, first touch to protect the ball, the second touch to control it and then look up.

Lukaku has normally run off-side on the 2nd touch.

Seems to me it is about training and getting the front players to find Lukaku and by front players Pulisic, Mount and Havertz, not Werner think his touch is generally too poor and maybe also Alonso.

Another scenario twice I think Werner is wide on the left and Lukaku has gone for the pull back yet never gets it, that is not Lukaku it is Werner either being greedy or just not aware.

Lukaku needs training when to run as well, needs to know like I said with Pulisic when he has a man on him wait until seeing his eyes after his second touch.

Each player on the ball maybe different.

Whilst I was critical of TT's subs and game management yesterday and in recent games, I still pray that he stays at Chelsea for years and builds a dynasty.

After the furore over Roman, sanctions and the sale of the Club dies down, and after the exit of up to a dozen squad, fringe and loan players, TT MUST be allowed to choose his own players, set up, tactics etc and then live or die by it.

He is the best that we can get and most Clubs would give their right arm to take him.

He does need to sort out his private life and maybe look at an attacking coach coming in (Drogba?) But the old vibe was there yesterday, there were some smiling faces and I think that just maybe, we are going to be OK

Managers don’t choose their own players though, that is a recipe for disaster. His tactics & setup are also questionable IMO. Hypothetically he decides to stick to 3-4-3;  then we will need to buy 2 CBs  to add to Silva, Chalobah, and one of Cowill/Sarr for example, a switch to a traditional 4-3-3 would mean we would only need 1 CB.
I would hope the first signing we make is a sporting director to draw out a vision for the next decade.
