Actually UEFA f**ked us and said we couldnt stop Courtois from playing against us. We should have won the game but had Mikel and Lampard suspended for the second leg hence Luiz playing in midfield. Kinda sounds like Jorginho and Mount missing.

Yes. Courtois had a fine game in the second leg. And we certainly missed Mikel and Lampard. Athletico deservedly won in the end. Lets hope we can avenge that tonight.

line up

Mendy

Azpi
Zouma
Rudiger

James
Kovacic
Kante
Alonso

Werner
Havertz
Ziyech

Bench - Kepa, Caballero, Pulisic, Giroud, CHO, Chilwell, Gilmour, Emerson, Anjorin

Christensen is out

No Christensen either. Gulp!

Without Christensen and Silva it's little worrying.

I believe Tuchel is playing Ziyech only because of his passing quality, he didn't show anything special to deserve a starting spot in this game.

Havertz continues to keep his spot, Werner returns to the starting lineup.

One hour before the battle, COME ON CHELS!!!

Wow I am actually pretty shocked he did not bring in Giroud and has started Ziyech who has made us seem as if we play with 10 whenever he has played of late.

Andreas is a huge miss with Silva out. Zouma in the middle is a concern.

?.... I am confused. lol . Do you think i am being disrespectful to Mikel or Jorginho

Sorry, just taking the piss mate - I don't really rate Jorginho but one might say I am somewhat of a Mikel fan.

Not sure I've ever been more gutted to hear that Christensen's out.

In my opinion Hudson-Odoi was a no-brainer for a spot in the starting XI (probably as the right-hand man behind the striker) - I must admit I'm quite baffled to see him sidelined in favour of Ziyech and the Havertz experiment. Giroud on the bench seems odd too (if for no other reason than his qualities at set pieces). Also - are we still expected to believe that Tammy is out injured?

Tuchel - prove me wrong you nerdy motherf**ker

Willy on the bench for pens.

2 keepers on the bench though? Surprised we didn't use a spot for one of the CB's from the academy. Sterling or Livramento perhaps? In case we pick up a CB injury.

Ok Kante you are going to have to be back to your superhuman best. Atletico and Suarez are now likely licking their lips given Christensen had him pocketed in the first leg.

CHO started ahead of James as RWB in the first leg if I remember correctly, and did well. There was a case for starting him as RWB again tonight based on the first leg.

He hasn't been used much by Tuchel as an inside forward, which explains Ziyech starting. If Mount was available I suspect Ziyech would be on the bench.

Feel like we should have giroud in there, given his last game. Plus against a parked bus can see is crossing a lot to no one. Would have preferred Cho over ziyech given form!

TT to prove me wrong I hope

Nooooooooo!

Christensen out is a crisis.

That's an absolute devestating loss for us. Not only for his defending but also his ability on the ball and passing in the heart of the defence.

Zouma or perhaps Rudiger in the middle instead is a massive downgrade.

Yeah I hear you Plokoon, seems more of a selection for a last group match when you have already topped the group and are looming to rebuild the confidence and form of certain players.
