Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

Featured Replies

Dean Saunders the latest to point out the obvious. That Rom has given up, not bothered and not working for the team or the fans.

Honestly would be better if TT just came out and admitted as much and admit he cannot use him as he just does not want to detract from the team so much.

If Kai needs a game off  just play Timo in the middle.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if there is some board pressure to play Lukaku. Nobody likes to own an expensive mistake, particularly at the top of the tree ! sh*t flows downhill as they say ...

Nobody cares what Dean Saunders has to say about our players, and we certainly dont need the vile little turd to tell us the obvious.

From all that I've seen from him, he's not as bad as people say, in terms of being a diva who doesn't want to be here or do well here etc. His attitude is not like Torres who looked like somebody shat in his breakfast every day and Lukaku celebrates goals and is happy for the team.

He is just simply too heavy and can't perform. He would love to fulfil the narrative of being a Chelsea fan who came home and became a beloved goalscorer. I just can't believe somebody at the club hasn't forced him to be on a particular diet.

Cost 100m, puts in 30% effort, moans about system / Tuchel, flirting to go back to Italy.

For me he is the worst signing ever. I’d happily sell him for 500 quid. I just want him to get the f*ck out of here.

I'm not sure tbh. A significant minority made some absolutely obscene excuses for this guy and tried to explain away every depth he kept plunging too.

If that were true he wouldn't have pissed off to Everton when a role in a what turned out to be title winning squad was on offer. And don't get me started on him bolting on loan there the year before.

I meant fulfil the narrative as in that it's just the narrative that makes him look good/feel good. I don't believe he is a real Chelsea fan but he wants to do well and get the adulation.

Obnoxious little f**ker isn't allowed an opinion on anything we do, ever.

I wonder if part of him will look back once his career is done and regret not sticking around the first time and having an Ole Gunnar Solskaer esque career with us. He wouldn't have played every minute of every game but he would have had numerous medals round his neck and probably some contributions to them along the way.

Yes he's got what he wanted by in large which is an unconditional starting spot but bar one Serie A (under a manager that made Moses and a well past his peak Matic Champion) he's not got anything to show for it.

Today he shown he can be an asset to teams if he knew his place and accepted playing when the match situation suited but his ego has got firmly in the way.

He came on, added an extra dynamic, put defenders under pressure gets a pen which we didnt score then I watch him run the ball down into west hams box then doesnt look before hoofing it straight to a west ham defender like a league 1 level player...

laugh or cry job

send him to Rwanda ffs lol

I get the impression he genuinely believes that he is a superstar and one of the best in the world. For that reason, I would say no, he probably doesnt regret it.

Ah I have to take the opportunity, so rare it is, to say Rom actually worked hard, made some decent runs and one us the pen that crucially got Dawson sent off.

Wow heady ground to say anything nice about his performances.

In his mind he probably thought he was playing 5D chess when he gave that interview to put the pressure on Tuchel, turned out to be 240p chess.

That could have been a part of it but I think the crux of the issue was that he was genuinely bitter we were looking better without him (apparently the interview happened around the Leicester/Juve games).

I'm going for Winston Bogarde but only by a whisker. It was the audacity to have John Wayne legs without the brazen audacity to swagger that gives him the edge on hatred.

If bayer is interested in him them it is good for both party. Tuchel don’t know how to use him and bayer have a cheap replacement for Lewand . Chelsea have some money back and Lukaku go in a team that will have players who kan pass the ball.
Example Mount  has a change to pass yesterday but he rather shoots from difficult angle. Kante is not an attacking mid and his passing is not accurate enought.

all the people here that were saying we play better without him … sure if your wingerd are not injured and you have kovacvic and kante in form. Kai plays good 3 games and people are dreaming again. The overal problem is that system doesn’t work with the injured player.

He fought well with Rice in a two second spell. I liked that. And he won us a penalty that should have won us that game. He did well. A turning point I hope.

But in general game he just is so far from anyone of his team mates. He haven't found any cohesion with anyone in the team. He is the missed-chance thumbs up guy. When you are on song with your team mates, you know when to run or which move to make. He needs a compass.

I don’t he is the only one that  out of cohesion with the rest. Kante, jorginho, sarr, christensen and alonso. No real forward will succeed @ chelsea because if the way we play in midfield. Look at man u they adept the game to ronaldo … it can go both way.

Im sorry but this is absolute back page of the mirror level nonsense!

Weve had some of the best midfielders in the world, Torres added more to the club than lukaku and im getting tired of arm chair fans trying to blame everything but the actual problem!!

Lukaku has 5 goals all season in all comps

Diego costa was another level and weve had tons of forwards that struggled even with lampard stroking world class balls onto a 5p coin

hes rubbish, overhyped, over paid and is for me to blame for the instability of the squad since he came out saying he wanted to go back to inter

"awhh but guvna he will smash goals in against lesser teams and we dont need to beat our rivals" - That was what people on this and other forums were using to defend the lad!!!

get. rid.

Manchester United..?! Are you kidding? Then let's better not adapt our game to him.

Thought he did ok the last couple of games he came in tbh. Sure the thumbs stick out a bit but who cares really except the telly crowd about that. I get that it's difficult for a striker of some kind to get few minutes (in mostly tight situations too) and within a well exhausted team at that too. So to miss a sitter here and there is actually not that surprising for me. (If he loses some weight 😉 ) I still can see him playing his part here. I saw some progress lately with him playing alongside Werner (slow progress and they do look out of sync most of the times too of course) and also those times when he played next to Havertz.

By far our biggest problem (and we had a lot) is the complete absence of Chillwell and a half-fit James without any real back-ups to help out and not the ideal setup of players to make a back four work either. We got too static that way and that hurts a rather "static" player like Lukaku the most I'd say. Same goes for Jorginho too.

We would have to buy an entire new team in order to do that.

Fantasy land!

If we had a young Messi I would say why not but spending about £500M plus lukakus fee just so he gets in front of the goal then hoofs it wide makes my head hurt haha
