West Ham v Chelsea (PL) Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:30 GMT

Goal 1 a stupid error from Mendy not to clear the ball.

Goal 2 a shot aimed straight at Christensens legs somehow miraculously goes through them.

Goal 3 an obvious cross spoons up of his boot and freakishly turns into a goal.

Conclusion...luck is not with us, injury crisis confirms our luck has vanished.

Different situation; he is £92m £325k/w nightmare you can’t write off

We can make that loss up with a PL or UCL win, we won't sniff either with Rom playing significant minutes, especially the latter.

Title challenge over. The only way we get back to the top of the table is IF City and Pool collapsed together.

It's now crisis mode for us to not let the wheels fall off or it's bye bye Tuchel

Wouldn't go that far.  We will slip away and just finish comfortably in the top 4. We just don't have that killer instinct. We haven't won back to back league games in over 6 weeks. You can't win a titie with form like that.

I didn’t have a problem with the starting line up based on injuries at the moment.

Two stupid mistakes is the reason we concede three goals. Alonso  Should’ve been stronger before the second goal.

Mendy had a poor game which I can accept can happen but my concern is Lukaku. I didn’t see him sprint or look interested once. Didn’t try to lose his marker or move when crosses were coming over. Bad day at the office.

We did enough to win, but we need more to cancel out the mistakes and flukes, we cant be perfect every game til the end of the season.

I really don't know how you thought we did enough to win, there wasn't a single moment in the game where we had a period of consistent pressure on their defence and keeper. We had a lot of the ball, but we always have a lot of the ball, we just did f**k all with it. The passing was slow and sloppy with nobody hitting them clean into the players feet or into space for players to run on to. The aggression was terrible throughout with weak tackles from almost all of our players. There was nothing about our performance today that deserved a win, and West Ham weren't even good, they were actually pretty poor throughout themselves, they just had to wait for us to f**k up, which we did, 3 times.

Nobody expects us to be perfect in every game, but 3 games on the bounce now we have been well below our best. It's something that happens every season to us during this period. We are flying, then the cold period starts and within a week, the form goes to sh*t. I wouldn't be surprised if our title chances are over by the end of the month.

Without sounding like a cliche d**khead, leagues are won in May, not December, every club has a wobble, Tuchel will learn and respond. Injuries have hit us, but it seems that all clubs are suffering , for example Zouma’s hamstring.

We are at our most vulnerable right now, the next 3 games is against teams on the lower end. If we lose or draw all 3 you can bet the wheels will be coming off.

3 poor performances in a row is damming regardless of the results. Eventually our luck will run out and it sadly has.

Mendy looked suspect today 2 goals probably down to him

Yeah he was totally off it today, atleast after he messed it up the first time. There was another situation where he could have easily collected a high bounce right infront of him, but just waited until trouble arrived.

We won't though, it won't get that bad. We will win at least 2. The problem is, keeping up with Pool and City

Disappointing.

Felt we should have at least got a point.

Didn't make the most of our chances and paid the price.

Mendy had a bad day for me.

Jorgy back from injury was not at his best.

RLC had a decent match.

Mount was good.

Our CBs coming forward to try and get us a goal was impressive at times.

I did wonder whether Barkley should have come on for the last 10mins.

A couple of frustrating things a few crosses coming over and Lukaku was hanging back and not going for them, ???

CHO cutting in form the left, once opened up for him and he didn't read it.

TT outsmarted today.

West Ham beat Liverpool and played a draw vs Man City at home, now 3 points against us as well. Clearly they are not that bad.

In this era of the Premier League, you can't afford to have a wobble. One dip in form and it's over, the eventual Champions of the past 5 years have been ruthless, I expect the same again this season.

If we don’t make the mistakes we win. We’ve been beat by an inferior team today ,that should hurt.

But when they play poor, which I thought they did today, we should be taking advantage of it, not playing worse ourselves. Their performance today was much worse than it was against both Liverpool and City.

I can see AFCON seriously derailing Liverpool but City will be there to the end. Not to mention Mendy will be off too and Kepa is still a question mark

The PL games Salah and Mane misses for the AFCON is just 3 games (if both carries their team to the finals). The CL restarts on mid-Feb 4nd we play them before the AFCON so we need a win against them to make sure we're still in it before Mendy goes off.

I saw some of that and thought they fouled the Liverpool keeper and noticed today we played a high defensive line whenever they got free kicks, think this was to stop them roughing up Mendy.
