Nothing like taking them against Mendy in training to gain confidence. Still holding out hope Edo saves a few before Jorginho finally misses one.

I believe they cut TT’s interview off when he went into a rant but clearly they are playing with players lives while the epl managers get rich sitting in their homes. Didn't see the post match stuff but, for me, I wish players and managers would stop moaning about fixture pile ups. Just get on with it, we have it every Xmas and yes COVID has thrown a new spanner in the works but manage the squad accordingly and we shouldn't be that reliant on one player to stop us looking shaky.

December 26, 20214 yr Just now, loz said: Two main loints 1. God we have missed a player that defenders have to worry about. What a difference it makes. Until he came on it was looking like yet another day where we wouldn't score from open play and could easily have dropped more points. 2. How we crumble when Kante goes off. I know Tuchel is looking to manage his time but I felt 60th minute was too early especially as it was the third and final change. Agree about point 1. However in the 45 he was on we only delivered a him maybe 4 of the sort of balls he thrives on. He needs crosses to attack and space to run at. In the few moments we used him correctly he scored one, created the CHO chance and the pen. We did an awful lot of f**king about between the half way line and their 18 with no attempt to get the ball into dangerous areas and you could see Rom making wee runs but getting ignored. On Kante coming off I think he picked up an injury. He was met at the sideline by medical staff and in my commentary they said he had an ice pack on his knee.

We had 4-5 players down with covid and have to play CHO full 90 minutes days after covid . His point seems to be honest one - at least provide 5 subs. Having to play the same squad without rotation is bad enough
December 26, 20214 yr Huge win. Keeps us somewhat connected to City and level on points with Liverpool (who have a game in hand). A loss would have thrown us into the Top 4 fight again. No need to elaborate on Lukaku's performance. Dragged us to this win almost single-handedly. Long may that continue. Tuchel confirmed Kante hurt his knee with a lot of pain and T.Silva had hamstring issues though. So that's another big blow on the injury front.

Didn't pick up on the possibly injury to Kante. Fair enough then. Agree about Drogba. We really need to learn how to get the best out of him. We seem to need more touches around the box than Ron Jeremy.

The referee must have deemed he’d made a genuine attempt for the ball (penalty & yellow card) rather than just dragging Rom down to stop him scoring (penalty & red card). I think the angle to goal and the keepers position might have helped with influencing the decision too.

Awful decision.

I blame him for playing Kante against Brentford.. it isn't rocket science that his body isn't the same... He can blame fixtures and 5 subs all he wants but there was no f**king reason for kante to have played against Brentford.. I can bet he will be out for like a month now . Thankfully it is January and hopefully we buy tchouameni
December 26, 20214 yr Just got back from the game - some thoughts: 1. Lukaku makes loads of runs and players don’t pass to him. We need to go more direct and it forward quicker rather than slowing it down all the time. 2. Thought the front 3 were all poor in the first half. Offered very little. 3. Mount needed to finish that chance at the end. It’s 2-1 with a few minutes to go and he basically gets an open goal. It could have been costly. 4. Overall it was a good performance and Villa didn’t get a sniff. Mendy had nothing to do all game. 5. Important win given recent run and that all our rivals all won as well.

December 26, 20214 yr Game of two halves, today showed why we at least need the option of a big target man Pulisic is not capable of playing number nine…it resulted in a false forward line. None James improved when dropped back…fatigued? We briefly lost control when Kante went off , hope he isn’t out for too long Lukaku showed us what we need against teams who sit in CHo needs to improve finishing, he had a good game otherwise Important we now build momentum, hard games on the horizon
December 26, 20214 yr No, Mendy has to play sweeper-keeper on two occasions. He had a lot to do, au contraire.

Good display form CHO. Good run to win a pen, cracking ball for Roms goal, cost himself man of the match with his miss. Poor first half, really good second one just missing the finishes from CHO and Mount to give us the deserved scoreline. Very important results with Spurs and Arsenal winning.
