Crap?, Conte’s Spurs will be there all the way, the man is simply too much of an elite coach for them not to be. Arteta has got Arsenal firing too, finally got the system/structure and players to fit down a tee.
December 29, 20214 yr Just now, just said: Yes. The whole game. Me too. I’m forced to watch their games (family members fans). They didn’t look great to me.

So fair playing against a well rested side that's played twice since December 5th while we have literally had to play every three days every week in December. Putting our players at risk while teams like Brighton got the privilege of a nice winter vacation. It's bullsh*t. No wonder we were outplayed. No wonder at all. Jorginho and Kovacic were out on their feet since minute 30, Christensen & James got fresh injuries that will keep them out in addition to Silva and Chilwell. Expect Tuchel to blow up in post match interviews. And my word would be be right to do so. That's because we're in every competition. If we want all the trophies then we'd have to take all the games that come with it.
December 29, 20214 yr Brighton got what they deserve tbh we were lucky to get a point. Effort was there but to many tired and unfit players on the pitch and to many playing out of their natural position. Other than for effort Only 3 players came out the game in a good light , Ron, Mason and Dave.

I think the injuries/Covid have caught up with us in the last few weeks, starting with Chilwell blow. Unless something like that happens to City, I can't see us getting back into a title race. I fully agree about Odoi. I really don't see the player in him that some do abd I never have. For me is a championship player, in fact maybe not even that as the championship is a battle. He might do well in Scottish football or French football where defences are not strong but I don't think he is remotely near yhe quality or potential to be a top 6 player in the English league.
December 29, 20214 yr Was anybody surprised by that outcome? I was just scanning back over our results and it is clear that this isn’t a blip or mythical December issue, we’ve been sh*t for ages. Even when we’ve won such as against Watford we were largely terrible. We huffed and puffed against Villa. And with Liverpool, City and Spurs coming up in the league we could be in a similar mess to last season relying on everyone else to cock up on the last day and let us get fourth. The manager and the players need to take a good look at themselves.
December 29, 20214 yr Pulisic looked very poor in the match but wtf are we insisting on playing him as a wing back !! i can’t believe how stubborn we are in persisting with this 3 at the back - we don’t create enough for the quality there is and lately with some injuries we also can’t defend enough!
December 29, 20214 yr We really shouldn’t be so confident in finishing above Conte FC & Arsenal, especially the latter if you’ve been watching them recently.
December 29, 20214 yr Bloody Awful at home again. On the balance of play they worked Mendy more but a top side sees that out with the chances created towards the end. Poor all over let’s hope TT burns the midnight oil prepping for the bindippers I’m gonna burn something else right now Irie!

Conte's a great coach but there's only so much even he can do in the short term, especially given they have all the top teams still to play away. As for Arsenal, they had a similar run this time last year after beating us, they always revert to type once the heat/expectations rise.
December 29, 20214 yr I have sympathy for the squad situation but we really should be beating that lot. We sat deep for too long and allowed them into it. Even at the end Kovacic is yelling at everyone to step out after a clearance and we sat back. Anyway this is our classic December malaise. Two huges games early in January to make or break the year at this point.
December 29, 20214 yr Mount was poor, sorry but effort doesn't make up for terrible decision making. Lack of decent wingbacks is costing us dearly.
December 29, 20214 yr Another awful performance, no real intent to break the lines we seem content as we have done for a while to just try and maintain the ball and play in front of the opposition. Then when we do get a chance in behind we make a bags of it because we just don't have the calmness and ruthlessness to take care of it. No blame on the ref, we made this mess we have to accept it, if we played for another 30 minutes I would have thought Brighton would have scored. It kills me to say it, but we have no real goal threat from supporting players as we always have done, then when the forwards are not scoring we have no one else to rely on. We have to accept that the goal now is to try and hang on in there, with no real chance of the league, another sh*t December. KTBFFH

Let a physically weak midfield of kova and jorgi together and play our attackers out of position .. when your two of your 5 attacking players are alonso and Dave and then you have jorgi having a poor game then good luck. I think we are lucky to have a point if i am honest .. just simply poor. It is not easy for him l and i agree a change is needed but we are missing players and while the last few weeks were rough it could be way worse. Tuchel is a smart guy he won't be so insane to think things just get better from nothing. The tranfer window now is crucial and he for sure had other plans but we need to regroup and adapt. You have to say for Liverpool it's not so rosy as well which admittedly doesn't help us but brings things into perspective.

I don't understand how a team fighting for top four can have a player like Pulisic in the team not even talking about having him starting the game. Jorginho was horrible today,so was CHO. Alonso is not a PL level player. You can go on and on. Our squad is paper thin in terms of quality players. A few injuries and we collapse. We need a proper ruthless clear-out and new blood in if we seriously intend to compete for trophies. With TT's job secured and our title aspirations out of the window, I would welcome if we start using our youths more often, polishing some diamonds.

Because otherwise your asking the whole team to play differently. Honestly just think the players after 30 mins looked spent. Honestly don't think we are at city's level yet. On our day yes but consistency no.

We have had decent midfield and attacking options depending on the formation barring the wolves game. I would certainly play RLC/Barkley/Saul before trying pulisic in wingback or RLC as a wingback in our formation. truth is our formation has been found out - given our reliance on wingbacks. No coincidence that RJ and BC injuries have coincided with this dreadful form.
December 29, 20214 yr So gutting, can't say Brighton didn't deserve the point, just so disappointed another lacking performance from us overall. Need an urgent improvement to get the season back on track.

Imagine Liverpool losing their key players or Man City, they would also collapse. Liverpool did collapse last season but their front 3 bailed them out. Man City was without DeBruyne but they coped somehow and nobody can catch them now so they are in a league of their own, they play possession-based style and never get tired nor injured.
