April 9, 20224 yr Lukaku, Jorgi, Loftus cheek, we really need a Coutinho type Mobile skilful midfielder, one that can hit first time passes, etc
April 9, 20224 yr Cover for wing backs. I don’t want to go a whole season relying on Alonso and make shift wing backs again. Losing James and Chilwell have killed our title challenge
April 9, 20224 yr Too many and too many possibilities like will Tuchel stay as regards owner changes. If he stays we need a striker that can compete with Havertz, Broja is a good finisher though less sure if he can lead the line on his own. Kante is slowly going downhill so we will need another mobile midfielder and that might be Gallager. We will need at least 1 centre back. Chilwell may not fully recover and I would like wide backs that can cross like Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool we don't seem to have that. Of course the above presumes we want to challenge for the league. Edited April 9, 20224 yr by strider6004
April 9, 20224 yr Too many to choose... Another Centre back, LWB, defensive mid, mobile midfielder, out and out winger and a striker/poacher. Kounde/De Ligt - replacing Christensen Theo Hernandez or Guerrero (Dortmund) Rice/Tchoumeni - replacing Jorginho Bellingham or someone like Olmo at leipzig Gallagher - fight it out with Kante Dembele/Moussa Diaby (Leverkusen) Harland/Osimhen

April 9, 20224 yr Jorginho Werner Lukaku. Offer Tottenham a buy one get two free deal. And if they are still unsure throw in Hudson-Odoi. Edited April 9, 20224 yr by just

April 10, 20224 yr LB - Cover / competition for Chilwell. Alonso has mostly been woeful this season. CM - A powerful creative midfielder who can play box to box. Jorginho needs to go. ST - We need a physical & agile striker with the ability to bring others into the game, aswell as consistently scoring goals and drive fear into opposition defenders. Haaland would be ideal but we all know he's pretty sort after as it is. Edited April 10, 20224 yr by Malcolm9
April 10, 20224 yr I’m actually against signing a striker now. Havertz is making the position his own and I’m happy to have Broja as back up striker. If we sell Lukaku for a decent fee (around 40M if that’s possible) we should spend it else where, if we want a big signing, Declan Rice would be perfect.
April 10, 20224 yr Out of contract this summer: Christensen, Rudiger, Saul Niguez (loan), Drinkwater Out of contract in 2023: Kante, Jorginho, Silva, Alonso, Azpi, Gilmour, Barkley Good to keep this in mind this summer. There is a lot of major decisions to be taken and most of all we simply need to do some forward planning here. Christensen and probably Rudiger obviously needs to be replaced but you'd also want to bring in an understudy or even replacements for Silva who's likely only got a year left himself. Then we have major midfield decisions to be made with Jorginho, Kante and Gilmour all running out of contract.
April 10, 20224 yr 1) New elite CB 2) Replacement for Jorgi - a proper DM 3) a proper creative CM That way we can play a back 4, and have a lot of options on the middle that doesn't rely on Kante as a creator. A new Striker is risky. Personally prefer us to play to the strengths of those attackers we already have.

I'm happy with Gallagher for your 3rd role and I'd want a new attacking wide player instead who can score goals. I'm just not happy with pulisic Werner or ziyech.
April 10, 20224 yr 3 upgrades? New Central midfielder - Gallagher New Center forward/wide forward option - Broja New center back who can play in 2 or 3 or at Left back - Colwill Those are the most important 3 to me.
April 10, 20224 yr Lukaku has to be replaced, just doesn't look at all interested when he gets a chance. Just to add Werner isn't the best either but at least he tries. Bring Gallagher and Billy back, still in my mind made a bollix of it letting Tomori go. I honestly don't really follow other leagues so I've no idea who to bring in, but recent times have shown me our own academy lads are well worth a shout. Edited April 10, 20224 yr by Carloseyebrow
April 10, 20224 yr We’ll need 1 CB for sure as Christensen and possibly Rudi and Azpi will be leaving. We need a wingback if we keep with the 5 at the back, as we will only have James and Chilwell. We need a reliable winger. Puli, CHO, Ziyech are way too inconsistent. We will be alright up front as we’ve got Havertz and Broja coming back, and I don’t see Lukaku leaving.

April 10, 20224 yr Our squad could look very much different at the start of the next season, without Dave, Christensen, Rudiger, Jorginho, Kante, Werner, Pulisic, Lukaku... I expect at least 3-5 new players, already know one of them is Gallagher. Hard to say who would I upgrade but some inside-forward/winger would be nice to accompany Havertz and Mount in attack and a new DM after Jorginho and Kante leave would be nice as well but then if we keep playing the back 3 we need an upgrade on Christensen/Rudiger I mean T.Silva can't play alone he's already pushing the boundaries of how long a CB in the PL can play.
April 10, 20224 yr Top priority is a physical DM who apart from passing at least 5 yards can also run and tackle.. we absolutely need a LB amd a cover for RJ (seems to be injury prone)
April 11, 20224 yr Honestly I think the main things we need to do is get more depth. I would say we need more depth at CM but I think if we get Gallahger and Gillmore back and integrate them into first team they will fit the bill. 1. Biggest thing we need is more depth at the wing back position. James and Chilwell are great at their jobs but anyone else is a huge downgrade. Plus our attack for a long time relied heavily upon them. While we have adapted somewhat with our forwards now being in better form, we need someone who can play wingback and not be such a massive downgrade from James and Chilly. 2. We need a striker to back up Havertz. Preferrably someone who is more mobile than Lukaku and fits the attack better. I would say sell Lukaku and Werner. Lukaku doesn't fit the system and despite his performance Saturday Werner just has not been in form. Unless he suddenly shows a great bit of form in last couple months of the season he seems like a waste. I like him and he tries his best but he's just constantly off. 3. If we kept all our CB's maybe one more good one would be ideal. Trevoh should play a bigger role next season, he's the future with this club. Save Silva for the biggest games like the CL knockout games and matches against Big 6 rivals. Let Trevoh play the rest. Quite frankly I think if James and Chilwell had stayed healthy the entire season the EPL cup would be a 3 way race. Edited April 11, 20224 yr by Valpo
April 11, 20224 yr Looking at the squad now I would have Barkley out I assume Christensen is gone and Sarr I just can't get behind him. Aside from that I would turn the Saul loan potentially into a permanent purchase as he can rotate anywhere in our midfield and has grown into the team as the season has gone on. Last 10 or so games will be the deciding factor for me until then I reserve judgment on a permanent move. Back to the 3 players I singled out they seem the most likely to leave them and potentially Romelu. I see the biggest stumbling block being his wages and the fee to take him away. Potentially a loan deal that has a mandatory purchase option that is split over 2 seasons? I'm happy for the 3 options @axman2526 suggested Broja, Gallagher and Colwill and I would add in a wb and a cb (since the aforementioned players all belong to us) I only really see the need for a top quality wb to rotate with the current options. A good replacement for Christensen (assuming everyone else in def stays otherwise another addition on top will be needed). So I'll cheat and upgrade 3 positions but with 6 players. Bringing in the academy boys and then add in a world class goalscorer, a top tier defender and a good wingback.
April 11, 20224 yr I mean I guess there are 3 positions we could upgrade as their current occupants have been dropping the ball. Firstly there is @PloKoon13, who has really been dropping the ball, both of them perhaps, with the motm threads of late. Leaving poor old @Mod to play sloppy seconds. Then there is @coco whos average of mistakes per match day thread title must be up there with Kepas save percentage 2 seasons ago. Lastly there is a tie between @Gol15 and @just who's recent willingness to consider selling Jorginho and Kante, respectively, has given us all a collective... Edited April 11, 20224 yr by axman2526
