April 20, 20224 yr We always find a knack of kick starting Arsenal to go on a run......they should pay us.

Of course the manager has overall control and responsibility but he should be in the position of being able to pick players from the whole of the available squad. The fact that Christensen is technically and mentally fragile is surely a failing of the player and not the manager. Whether he is slipping on his arse or underhitting a back pass, or just sh*things himself whenever anyone gets near him, the manager shouldn't be held to account regarding his overall ability. This guy is the best manager we have had for years. Our board should be apologising to him for cluttering up his squad with such a large number of inadequate sh*thouses. When it's his team then maybe but I don't even think Lukaku is one of his even though he was bought under TT From training and past performances (and knowingly seeing him checked out), he should know picking AC was a very risky move. He had Chalobah, he had Silva. More reliable options than AC and Sarr. But he picked them for God knows why. Lukaku, I don’t have to say more about him a player who clearly doesn’t want to be here. Who picked these players? TT. It’s HIS fault.

Arsenal raise their game against us and although we made errors if Havertz had started it might have been different. I agree, we should have started with Kai and Silva, but i don't agree it was a six pointer.

Rudiger was injured, so the only players rested were kai and silva who both came on in the second half. Exactly. Fans can pretend that it's a player issue tonight, but it's not like the very same thing doesn't happen to regular starters, and the Brentford game proves that. We have a problem at the club, I don't know why we don't just confront it and put plans in place to get it out of our club. What are we going to do? keep sacking coaches and bringing in another hoping for something to change? Because it won't change, it will keep happening. Some fans have learned nothing in the past decade. Edited April 20, 20224 yr by Scott Harris

He cannot do a lot about that bar getting rid and replacing them in the summer, which hopefully is exactly what he will do.

We might manage one last big effort for the cup final or we might collapse badly in that game too. And then it looks like a sea-change over the summer with lots of familiar faces leaving. Just hope we will be able to compete next season.

After this performance today do you really think we will beat a consistent in form Liverpool in the final? I doubt it. This team PROVED tonight that their mentality is rubbish. Which is why I am finding it difficult how these same crop of players won the CL, SC and CWC.
April 20, 20224 yr This was a spectacular "show" of generous gifts. We basically presented them with 3 easy goals wrapped with a ribbon and put on the plate. Can't recall seeing such generosity from any team for a while.
April 20, 20224 yr Shipping 4 goals to Arsenal and Brentford is unacceptable. Tuchel needs to play his strongest side then make changes within games. Not start with a line up that includes Sarr, Christensen, Lukaku and Loftus Cheek. While not playing Silva or Rudiger. And a midfield of Kante and Loftus Cheek!! What the f**k was that about? Tuchel needs to stop messing up. That was a shocking performance.
April 20, 20224 yr Losing to Arsenal at home is bad. Going there and losing to Arsenal is worse. Having your Dad moan at you every 3 minutes for 90 like you are a referee's assistant made a great evening. Thanks Chelsea.

April 20, 20224 yr The fact that we have the same amount of wins in the league as Arsenal is a red flag. But at the same time it's funny that Arsenal is still 5th.

It is a huge red flag. Because that means we are just top of the bad pile fighting for 4th. 4th place isn't guaranteed you know. We can still feck it up. We still got to play West Ham and Man United. Leeds aren't as bad post-Bielsa. Everton at GP, as bad Lampard is - he knows our squad inside out and our weaknesses. Our squad and mentality hasn't changed from when he was sacked. He'll use his knowledge to his advantage. We are in big trouble. You cannot trust this squad to securely get 3rd place, because if they were going to - just like last season we should have buried Arsenal today. We didn't. So I can't fecking trust this squad anymore. Edited April 20, 20224 yr by Mana

I think we would have done a lot better starting Chalobah instead of Sarr, and Thiago instead of Christensen. Also Azpi should only be played in the middle 3 these days. In a way you can blame him forbzy. Defending starts from the front. He doesn't track back, he doesn't press opponents in possession, he's lazy in that respect. JFH was the same. So is Ronaldo, but Lukaku is no Ronaldo and he's not even looking like a JFH. Lukaku always bangs on about how much he admired Drogba and wants to emulate him. Well he should start by matching Drogba's work rate and defensive duties. Throw in some goals as well. That would help.
April 20, 20224 yr I am really not sure what TT was looking for here. Really not. I advocated we rested a bunch of players and risk this happening, many said no play the strongest side we should go for the win above all else. TT did neither of these things. You don't start a mentally checked out AC or Sarr if you are looking to win. Not when you have Trev and Silva on the bench. You don't have Kante and RLC as you midfield 2 and neither of them take responsibility to defend. You don't start Lukaku. You don't wait until 10 minutes to go to drop the 3rd CB. At the same time if you are looking to rest players who need it and write off the game why does James start and play 90 minutes? Why does Mount, who was shattered from the first minute and poor, ditto Kante and RLC. Why bring on Havertz who clearly had no kind for it? It was a waste. Either play your best players and win or write it off and rest players. This was a huge huge mess from the manager. What was worse was having to listen to nothing but Arsenal fans through the box all game, including multiple renditions of their rip of TT song...

April 20, 20224 yr Have not been through the thread yet but I assume @Vagabond has ripped Dave a new rear end after that display. Wanted to post seperatly on the defence, or lack there of. Terrible selection from TT, I already covered that, but let's look at the back 5. AC has his head in the clouds and gifts them the opener. Not surprised. Sarr gets roasted time and again, he turns an unbelievable ball win from behind by Silva in to an assist on goal 3, via Kante. James looked knackered, he did indeed need a rest and Smith-Rowe showed it. Dave gave the ball away so often. Lovely goal sure, terrible pass for goal 3. No complaints the pen, Sara was smart enough to grab his arm after Dave put it there to grab his shirt. It was dumb from the captain. Smart by Arteta putting Saka on the left, Alonso could not cope with him, neither Sarr. Bonus mention to Mendy, who made no saves again, did not move quickly enough to get anywhere near goal 2, should have saved goal 3 and once again went the wrong way on a pen. Real should be embarrassed, they only got 3 when two poor sides got 4.
April 20, 20224 yr Alonso had another stinker, with Saka ripping him apart. I honestly had enough, Alonso sucks against Arsenal. Continuously getting ripped apart. Edited April 20, 20224 yr by Mana
April 21, 20224 yr Where did Sarr come from? Such a poor player. Why isn’t he out on loan? He looks nowhere near ready to be a first team starter. He’s well below Guehi and Tomori and yet he finds himself ahead of Chalobah as our fourth choice centre back. How did that get to happen?
April 21, 20224 yr Was also surprising seeing the lack of fight and desire in the team. I get it slightly more for Brentford as they are like Fulham to us. Was a cup final for them and we do not really feel a history of London derbies. But Arsenal? Come on you expect to see that fire from Mount, James and RLC. Chelsea Boys growing up knowing about this game and was like a training match to them. Even behind though it was still the same insipid sideways passing and back to the defenders we go. Even from the crowd. I heard nothing from our fans on the box and it was all Arsenal songs and insults about us being a "sh*t club no history" I get capacity is down but was like we had no fans there for almost the whole game.
