Bit like paying to go the cinema and thinking it gives you the right to talk over the film or shouting out punchlines when your watching a comedian on stage.

You pay to support the team, you don't have to cheer a player but you should never boo a player unless he's openly disrespecting the club which Sterling hasn't done he's simply not playing well like most of the squad.

It's a pathetic reason to boo someone, I'm really not sure what these mouth breathers think they'll achieve.

There you are another who dictates how a football fan should behave.

Fans like you are lucky I'm not in a position to own the club because I would refund your money and ban you.

The mood and football would improve as a result because you're not there to be a hindrance.

Are you for real? Thankfully dictators like you don't own football clubs. What world are you in. If it doesn't suit your narrative ban them. Truly pathetic.

ps. Your sterile idea of how football should be, so woke and pretty is not what the vast untold millions of football fans around the world want.

To be part of the team you have to do what's best for the team.

Taking the penalty off Palmer wasn't in the interest of the team. Refusing to pass several one on ones this season and costing us isn't for the team. Taking the free kick and pumping it out of the stadium isn't for the team. If he's going to play for himself, rather than the badge then the fans that have paid to be there to support THE TEAM have every right to let them know what they think of his actions. Lets see if he's so selfish again going forward or if he's took the hint now.

Football is too nicey nicey these days and egos get too big with players never held accountable. A stadium booing him will hopefully knock him down a peg or two, if not get out of the club.

Football isn't just all talent, skill, performance or whatever tangible you want to assign to it.

The intangible is the psychology of it and whilst it might hold a smaller significance, it's ramifications are huge and it is directly affected by what's going on in the external environment apart from the actual football, ie the "noise" around the players and games.

We need the right kind of noise to help with conditioning and guess what, booing isn't the right kind.

Sterling is dog sh*t, I scream at my telly and shake my fists and mutter all manner of abuse but guess what I'd never do so if I was in the stadium because it doesn't help.

I'm not virtue signalling or telling people not to boo if that's why floats their boats but I am letting them know there is no justification for it think what you may.

Nothing can make me change my view on this and no matter the entitlement some feel they have to boo their team because they paid money to watch people who earn a kings ransom, it is wrong.

Yes because you are a hindrance, you don't know what the meaning of a fan is and you don't deserve to be a fan so I'll ban you and refund your pitiful pounds which you feel entitle you to come and boo the team.

And it's not a narrative. Go and open any dictionary in the world in whatever language, there is no where it defines a fan as one that can support a team and boo them when they play bad.

It's not a narrative. It's literally the universally recognised function of a fan.

Support!!!

Ok got to get back to work now and earn some money for the up and coming games. You stick to your beliefs on what a football fan is and i'll carry on going to football enjoying the day out having a good time freely doing what i like and totally ignoring your opinion.

ps any player that deserves it will be informed but us paying football fans applauded and booed where we consider it appropriate.

Have a nice day.

Yes please enjoy your football day out but remember to buy the right ticket when you go next.

The away section is where you belong if you're going to be booing us.

There you go again telling people where to sit now. How f**king sad are you.

I'm not going to tell anyone they aren't an actual fan, I just think booing should be reserved for those who disrespect the club (i.e. Lukaku).

Ultimately you are entirely free to boo any of our players, just like I am free to disagree when you do so.

And I respect that.

The funy thing about his apology (wich wasnt necessary in th first place) is that he only apologize for the penalty 😄

Almost like he didnt want to remember he missed another 1v1 and had the worst free kick of the history of Stamford Bridge.

Keep ya head up Raheem, theres better days coming ahead.

The fan resentment I'd imagine comes directly from his selfishness. He's asked to be a leader but he's making the same errors and behaving the same way you'd expect a young player to.

I don't know. Maybe its our own fault for ignoring all the signs and pretending he was someone who leads by example. He was only a supporting cast at City and City fans did warn us of his inconsistency.

I kind of get that, though. The penalty was one where he shouldn't have taken it, end of. Palmer should have.

Apologising for missing a 1v1 makes no sense - if that happens do you expect every player who missed a 1v1 to apologise? And the last time he took a free kick for us, he scored a great goal (I think). I might be wrong but I'm not sure if Palmer has scored one for us. Yes is was rubbish execution, but doesn't deserve an apology.

Did Disasi apologise for his own goal? I genuinely don't know if he did or not, and I wouldn't expect him to.

This has been my position since day one booing and calling your own players names is just idiotic and daft unless they disrespect the club. I can understand the in the moment frustration which we all get but targeting a single player from our own team is silly and counterproductive.

These are probably some of the same people who called Eden, Costa and Cesc snakes so some of our fans have from for this bullsh*t.

They booed Jorginho he went on to win European midfielder of the season or whatever the award was, they also booed Cucu just after his house got broken into with a new born if am not mistaken.

Do they think this doesn’t affect other players, seeing your own fans boo one of your teammate. Players talk especially to potential signings.

Booing aside the vilification of Sterling is totally unwarranted.

He has and is an inconsistent player over the years like all flair players. Yesterday was far from ideal but he wasn't our worst player, in fact other than the misses he had a pretty good game.

Arguably one of the better players last season and this when the chips were really down, although his form of late has not been great he can make things happen more than most.

Having said all that,  I would switch him for Mudryk for a bit, make him an impact player, he excels at that

I feel bad for him, I really do. As much as I dislike him as a player (and I really, REALLY dislike him as a player) its never nice to see anyone being villainized. Unfortunately it feels like he’s become a lightning rod for all the frustration we as fans have felt after the change of ownership, and ot doesn’t help that yesterday was the worst I’ve seen any Chelsea player since I started following in 1988.
The apologizing through social media will never work, and I wish he hadn’t done that, but I think it shows that he wants things to work out here and that he tries - even though it doesn’t look like it half the time.

I only see one way back, and that is for Poch to only use him as an impact sub for the rest of the season. Take him away from the highlight, give us fans something else to worry about and maybe he contributes a few goals from the bench along the way. If Poch doubles down and continues to start him, the preferrial treatment of Sterling over others just becomes even more clear and as a result the divide will be too big to ever recover from.

Best thing Sterling can do is just keep playing his game and chill out. Lovely touch from Gusto and support is a far stronger way to get players back into form.

He must be desperate for an England recall, is probably as much frustrated at his own form as us, and is over compensating and trying to hard to force things.

It's fair to boo him for the penalty.

I think all of us fans accept that was wrong on his part. And I think he deserves to be booed for it. Same as I think kepa deserved stick for not coming off in the league cup final.

But obviously a lot of fans are booing him because of his general performance. I'd prefer we didn't do that. He's been poor for a while and I'm hoping he can find a way out of our club in the summer.

Bakayoko v. Watford was 100 times, no, 1000 times, worse.

Don't even have to go that far back.

Mudryks performance vs Boro was far worse than any performance in Sterlings entire career.
