Richarlison - a charlatan?

The type of players we have apparently been interested in has me wondering what we are aiming for this season, because it certainly doesn't look like we are trying to close the gap on City and Liverpool.

Maybe but on paper how many of Liverpool's first Xl for their 2020 title win were considered title winning quality when they signed? Fabinho and Allison but that was about it.

I'm not against the signing, not because I want him, but because every top forward we've tried to sign over the past couple of years hasn't worked. Maybe its time to use an in-league stop gap for a couple of seasons until the team can actually scout a proper forwards that are good but also not too expensive and will meet Tuchel's style of play. He's also managed to score 10+ goals in 3 of his last 4 premier league seasons which is much more than many of our forwards like Pulisic and Ziyech can say.

and he is a good defender. He has insane defensive stats for a forward

we won't be playing with 10 man like we did with Lukaku, he actually has great work rate and he runs a lot

also i like his personality, he is confident and a bit obnoxious and aggressive

i actually think this would be a good signing for us. If he can score 10+ goals with Everton where they defend with 11 on their own half, he might be able to really get a decent amount of goals if he gets more service

Conor Gallagher scored 8 goals and did a fair bit of midfield work as well. And doesn't cost anything. Although in saying that in keeping him the cost is what you could sell him for.

A stop gap for £60m… 🤔

Please make it make sense.

Most fans just find it cringeworthy, a Primark-ronaldo acting like he’s bigger than he is, constantly fighting, throwing himself to the deck, no football i.q so always offside or losing possession, can’t hold onto the ball, crosses that don’t meet, miss-timed passes, no discipline. There is ‘something’ there as far as talent but he’s a diamond in the rough who will stay rough. He’s still under Police investigation, so we’ll see if that leads to any match bans.

Yeah, but other than all that do you like him?

Unreal there’s even a thread on him in the Rumours section of TSEF.  Club & Bully better get their act together as the squad we have now is not going to compete for top 4 without reinforcements, pre season is just over a fortnight away.

There's a Brazilian striker playing for Porto called evanilson who's got 14 goals and 4 assists in 30 games last season. He's young and looks very talented, although United are sniffing around and it looks like he'll cost richarlison money (65 million euros). Personally I'd prefer him to richarlison even though they're both around the same money he looks like he could be an elite striker whereas richarlison is already accustomed to the premier League. I guess the only difference is that richarlison might be playing as a lw with havertz through the middle?

jesus christ

no way!

I think we should buy him to stop Spurs from getting him and as a stopgap until we sell Lukaku and can find the next top striker.

Problem is that he's going to cost as much as a top striker anyway if we enter a bidding war with Spurs.

Richarlison scores a fair few goals and hustles well. But when I have watched him in the past he has frequently frustrated me with some of his play, and his theatrics. Of the 2 Brazilian strikers we are linked with he would probably bring more goals than Jesus, but he would probably bring a fair bit of unneeded drama too. I can just imagine refs throwing the book at him for some of the shenanigans that went unpunished at Everton (e.g. throwing the flare into the crowd)/

No thank you. We already have the "running around a lot" with virtually no technical ability or end-product sufficiently covered by Werner.

I wouldn't mind Tottenham signing him at all. Bissouma was the player we should have stopped them getting.

but richarlison has 12 goals and he runs around, and everton play with 11 in their own penalty box

Chelsea have offered cash plus a player (who was out on loan last season) for Richarlison and are now favourites to sign him. #EFC 🔵

If there is any player we were really looking to buy from Everton it should be Antony Gordon, not Richarlison IMO.
