July 14, 20223 yr Contact made for Kimpembe, PSG want £42m + £8m add ons to make £50m, Sources close to negotiations state Chelsea and PSG are about £16m apart in valuation. ( @MiguelDelaney )
July 14, 20223 yr https://www.transfermarkt.com/presnel-kimpembe/profil/spieler/282041 They have him on 40m Euros. This is probably something we are willing to offer for him. So around 32-34m in Pounds. I know nothing about him. I like his name though 😃
July 14, 20223 yr I'd absolutely love for us to sign Kimpembe. I think he's a brilliant defender. Aggressive, very quick, right mentality, excellent on the ball and much more. Known to have a mistake in him but so did Rudiger before Tuchel got to work with him. Kimpembe would almost be a like for like replacement for Rudi if we can land him so i'm all for it.

July 14, 20223 yr I wonder if TT is considering him as potential cover at LWB as well to fill in for Chilwell sometimes.

I suspect that he will stay with Juventus and he just created all this drama to get an improved deal? Doctors - not just anybody - BUT Doctors declared him mature. Well, I apologise. I am wrong. Clearly. You would certainly need to be mature to lead a dressing room like he’s been able to do at such an early age, yes. I’m still unsure what drama he is actually causing tbh, his contract expires in 2 years, Juve hasn’t really worked out and they are looking to offload him now they’ve got Pogba’s wages to deal with. The ‘drama’ is more just ‘the media’ rather than De Ligt rubbing his hands together and scheming away. Character-wise you’re acting as if he’s bloody Jesse Lingard ffs, get a grip.

But I am learning that transfer rumors are not often correct. I’d say it’s fairly clear now that Kounde was a Marina/board signing and since the new ownership came in, that link has been dead in the water. De Ligt is a natural RCB, him & Koulibaly would literally be JT/Carvalho levels all over again. One can dream.. since Bayern have suddenly decided to burn their entire club spending philosophy just to get him 😅, probably no chance.
July 14, 20223 yr Prefer Kimpembe to Ake tbh. Doubt we sign both despite reports. I think we are just making sure we get one. Tuchel knows him well, he is very good on the ball too, although has errire in his game, similar to Rudiger pre Tuchel in that regard. Sterling Koulibaly Kimpembe Gnabry/Leao Wing back/ full back cover Possibly another midfielder. Fantastic window imo.
July 14, 20223 yr Sterling-Havertz-Mount Chilwell-Kovacic-Kanté-James Kimpembe-Silva-Koulibaly Looks an uncomfortable team to play against

He appears less bound to the left side to me than Kimpembe. I he was, we should reconsider our transfer targets I believe. It would be Koulibaly(Kimpembe/Ake)-Silva-Chalobah((James)) To me, Kimpembe(Ake)-Silva-Koulibaly(Chalobah) looks great, particularly as I believe Ake could provide better cover for LWB than Alonso and Emerson
July 14, 20223 yr Didn't Ake help out as a LB at city at times? Even if that'd be rahter highly defensive I like this prospect because that's been something Alonso never really could do: shut down his side completely which made us incredibly vulnerable. I also read that Ake could in theory play a DM - so if he could help us out there in case we need a back-up I'd much rather have him there than Challobah who IMO should focus only on his CB play. 7 hours ago, Sindre said: I'd absolutely love for us to sign Kimpembe. Kimpembe would almost be a like for like replacement for Rudi if we can land him so i'm all for it. When TT was still in Paris I always defended Kimpembe because I saw this kind of untamed beast that had all the raw qualities you'd need to become an elite CB. And I thought he improve much his consistency, his main deficit, in the second season of TT. But eversince I saw him it seemed he stagnated or even regressed. Red cards galore, no consistent composure etc.pp. - how much this is down to a toxic or at least very strange PSG locker room / team chemistry, I dunno. Anecdote: After TT failed against United in the CL (also partly due a stupid mistake by Kimpembe playing handball) it seemed he had lost the locker room afterwards in the fallout and there were serious rumors about Kimpembe openly discouraging younger players to follow TTs instructions - think he has a weird brother too who's not afraid to step in with some stupid social media stuff - so once PSG decided to keep TT and bring in a new director (Leonardo, lol) everybody was thinking Kimpembe has to go. Can't keep such a player. But both of them sat down and found a solution somehow. Kimpembe then plays the IMO best season of his life, very consistent and focussed, even Captain at times. When it was clear that Leonardo wanted TT out asap and they played against Lille, their hardest rival, in the following season he even did this tackle to prevent a loss which ineveitably would have equalled TTs sacking (except Leonardo's masterplan was always to sack him during Christmas eve.. 24.12.) Kimpembe injured himself during this sitution, missed the next games IIRC, and if you look at the slo-mo you see that this happens during his sprint which he still follows through making the decisive tackle. Loved him back then and hope he can step up becoming the player that he can be within a more reliable and stable club.

He's a very physical defender, his positioning is often off and he always has a mistake in him. Marquinhos is the beast of the Psg back line, Kimpenbe is a very uninspiring recruitment, especially if it means sacrificing our talented youth's chances of breaking into the first team. He would probably fit the prem, but for the price quoted we're having our pants pulled down.

July 14, 20223 yr Marquinhos cerainly is an established world-class defender which is also the reason why PSG will never sell him. But it wasn‘t Marquinhos who stabalized the Paris defense: it was Thiago. Kimbembe is a cert starter for France for a reason and if he makes the next step - nobody can guarantee that he does ofc - there aren‘t that many defenders above him. How old is he anyway? 24? We need defenders that are competent at passing and well versed with defending in the oppo‘s half - Kimpembe is used to that.
