Joško Gvardiol

He's a monster no doubt about it. Obviously he's better than Badiashile but I'd rather have Badiashile for 38m than Gvardiol for 90m. There's not a 50m difference between them.

Badiashile for 38m Euros, Gvardiol for 90m ... or Levi Colwill for 0m ?

I wonder if there is 38m difference between Badiashile and Colwill LOL

Why not all three? That defense would last a decade

I think we need to be more astute with our resources especially given what we've spent already.

In Fofana, Badia and Colwill we have three excellent defenders going forward and as good as Josko is I feel it would just be unnecessary, same way as much as i was practically campaigning for Enzo, had we had a player of that ilk coming through the academy alongside a similar player we got from the market I would have also said the same with him.

I don’t know that he’s obviously better than Badiashile. Think they are more likely on the same level, and as you pointed out, the cost difference is huge.

Gvardiol is clear but not 90m clear.

I don't think Badiashille is on the same level as him but I genuinely believe Colwill could be.

I agree with colwill fofana and badashile we dont need him for that price point. I think where Gvardiol slightly exceeds them though is physicality and dominating the strikers, and he seems to have that monster mentality. Someone weve missed since Rudiger.

Old Fab, never gets these wrong, I wonder why.

Gvardiol has always dreamt of playing for......anyone who pays him enough.

Here we go!

I hate how many fans believe that fraud to be some kind of amazing all knowing genius on transfers and believe anything he writes. He`s a f**kwit who hedges his bets and makes all kinds of claims, then can say "see, I told you" when he gets one finally right.

Yh scratching my head with that one. He's not made any claims simply retweeting quotes...

Yes, when he gets it right he's a genius and real insider, never acknowledges it when he got them wrong. It's typical of social media era, people just want to be spoon feed what they want to hear. I just love the so called daily 'breaking news' of Chelsea is still working on a deal with Brighton, here we go😅

He is not a fraud. He is a commentator on transfer activity and presumably makes a living out of it. Of course he may be a f**wit as well, i don't know. I follow him because I think he gets a lot more right than wrong and, in my opinion, he generally has some quite good sources. So that by and large what he talks about is useful and adds to my store of knowledge.

I don't think he is an amazing all knowing genius, but I do think his information is fairly reliable, not 100%, but a good average, and also timely. I have spent close on 40 years as an analyst thinking about who is worth listening to on a particular topic and Romano makes the cut. Of course he gilds the lily a bit, strings stuff out, reannounces it 50 times etc. Doesn't matter the core is useful.

Now Leipzig's director comes out and says there's absolutely no agreement with City for Gvardiol, which leads back to the discussion in hand here.

I get it that Romano or those other "commentators" get a living out of reposting daily bits of nonsense mixed within proper info. I don't agree with it, but I get it, it's their weird speculative media job and has been around for ages even without social media.

What I don't get it is the urge people have to get those really inconstant bits of news and keep generating the $$ for them at any given time. If you want "reliable" info, why not just wait for the club to confirm a signing, or maybe just follow the player/club in question to get things directly from their persona/PR? Is it just the anxiety?

If we don't end up signing someone, I don't need Romano to tell me the deal collapsed due to this or that because he wasn't even there at the table, I can't trust that what he heard was 100% accurate and, even worse, I can't trust that what he posts is 100% accurate of what he heard, because he may just want/need the clicks to his follow-up stories on a subject. Even his "here we go" isn't really reliable as it's been wrong on the past... It's a weird news system that one and I really can't fit my head around it. Yet we're here talking about what he's posting, right or wrong, so maybe that's just the way it is.

That can't be right. I was told all our rivals are amazing and get all their deals done early and it's only us who try to negotiate a good price.

Officially a fraud. (although this could still happen but he hasn't defended himself like with Cucurella).
