Marc Cucurella

Showed a whole lot of strength to come back and do so well after those horrific 10 minutes.

Bit of a nightmare of a game to invert in (ask Caicedo) but he did really well doing just that in the second half while at the same time limiting what came down his left hand side.

Settled down after the two slips. Not even sure he was wearing the tiny plastic studs, which would have been criminal. Maybe it was just very bad luck although the didn’t slip again after he changed over.

One to forget today, and the sheepish post match smile/embrace with Maresca showed this.  His quality and personality showed through.  Put it behind him and move on.

To blame him for the second goal is criminal imo.  The position was totally non-threatening by the spurs player after his slip, and this cucu’s slip was a nothing burger basically. Even for the first goal there were plenty of other players who could have stopped that goal.  This is a joke to make him the scapegoat in those goals.

Both goals should not have happened if his teammates did their jobs. The slips were so far away from our goal that we should of dealt with it way better. Then you have the keeper looking like he’s going for a swim, where the hell is he diving

Colwil got totally done by Solanke completely lost him and the second goal we had so many players in front of the ball and it still went in.

Maybe am being harsh but I think the slips should not lead to goals. Maybe chances but definitely not goal.

I think your missing the shock value part of any slip, defence/defenders are just not in the right position or set for a turn over like that, reactions are slower and players basically panic, its just a natural reaction to an "oh sh*t" moment. It has a huge impact on defending. Thats not to blame cucurella, its an accident, but likely its one that could have been avoided.

Certainly think that Sanchez could have done better for the second. Yes it went through Lavia's legs but it was a daisy cutter from the edge of the box.

Carra is a twat wanted us to lose because his statement at the start of the season about us is starting to look like one of those infamous statements that comes back to bite him in his arse.

Could you imagine if we beat them to the title after him slagging us off earlier!!

Omg that would be hilarious 😂

You can hear it in his voice from the start even. I don't think it was just about that statement but also because of the points gap too. He even said something else that was stupid (he does that a lot!) when comparing spurs to arsenal. "Arsenal are used to winning titles..." eh!? 🤣

Shows how much he has grown after two mistakes most players would die but not him he stood back up and drove the team forward.

Thats the mentality we need, you can see also at the end of the match laughing with Maresca.

Apparently he told maresca he wanted to add some "drama to the game" which I thought was funny too.

Unfortunately maresca interpreted it in English as "emotion" not "drama" and many didn't get the joke during the interviews. Made me like them both even more. Lol

Have to hold my hands up with Cucurella, completely different player since the Euros. Genuinely look forward to watching him play now. Reminds of Luiz under Conte where we found a role to cover his deficiencies and he looks world class.

It was his worst game of the season by a million miles. And, he still made a helluva a lot of basic errors after his first two slips resulted in goals. Several missed interceptions he didn't have to go for. Got caught wrong side on counter-attacks because he was watching the ball. In high pressure situations he is sometimes incapable of slowing down, calming down,  and easing off the throttle. It simply isn't in his DNA.

That said, he has been excellent for most of this season so a 5 out of 10 performance today isn't the end of the world for him. Hair and heels. How can you not like him?

That would be the explanation @just :laugh2:

1 match ban against Everton away. If we win, we go top until Liverpool play.

Is it a one match ban? He's had a suspension already this season for picking up five yellows. Does this make it two games now or is it a completely separate thing? I've been trying to get clarification on this but I can't find anything.

Hmmmm didn't think of that. Not sure.

Confirmed. One match ban. Back for Fulham
