Like when we needed to move on Reece James?

Big difference is we could all see James before his injuries and he was fit enough to win the CL. Lavia hasnt been fit since he arrived and we dont even know if he can survive a season after 3 years being with us. Lavia or Gallagher, which would you have preferred to have been available the past three years?

Both. I`d rather we kept him and got him fit, I dont see any point in trying to sell him as we wont get any money at all, even if some clubs were to want him.

At this point we don't have much option. We would have to offload him for a big loss given his injury record. I agree he is a fine player when fit. Lets hope he can put these injury issues behind him.

Arguably, and certainly for me, the best 6 in the league when fit. And even while not completing a 90, he has improved since he's been here. You simply don't sell a player of that quality at 22 for pittance.

It's a difficult one but I'd keep him. We've managed to see a turn around in Reece James and even Fofana is managed fairly well so there is a pathway if we can somehow keep him fit. His wages are not astronomical and the fee we'd receive would make us look like idiots, if he can stay fit. Surely worth the gamble of keeping him and if he doesn't stay fit sell him in the last year of his contract for the same money we'd get now.

Really hope this can be the start of something for the lad. A fit Lavia makes us a better team.

He's good enough to persevere with although I’m not sure who’d buy him even if we wanted rid.

He’ll probably break down in training but I live in hope.

Encouraging to read. Maybe this time. He needs consistent football for his confidence and overall fitness. Just get through to summer and keep building from there - a bit like a new signing all over.

The way our "data oriented" doctors act in regards to players coming back from injuries, Lavia will probably have all his 25 minutes in all competitions until the end of the season managed with the view of having him fully fit for the pre-season💀

Fingers crossed this time.

If there is one team where the medical dept will have a say in his minutes it’s Chelsea !

If he breaks down again I will start fearing for the lad

He is so good and makes us better.

Take it slow minutes here and there

If that's what it takes we should listen to them.

It worked with Reece, we need Lavia fit long term no matter how long it takes.

At least Reece kept himself fit while getting his minutes restricted. It seems Lavia can't even get a good run of games w/o getting a knock. If he stays fit until the end of the season while slowly getting back, then it's ok. But if the next time he comes back he once again gets injured for a few months after coming on as a substitute, then we have a big problem in our hands.
