The funny thing is I recall he played more PL mins as a U21 than anyone else in the league during his Southampton season. He had that odd injury for us early on and has never really recovered. Hope he does - people think there is a player in there.

    Would loan the trio of Lavia, Fofana (if he breaks down again) and Badiashile out to Strasbourg to go and prove their fitness. We can’t build a strong backbone when you have 3 players in your 25 man PL who can’t stay fit. Lavia has missed 76 games, Fofana 98 games and Badiashille 64 games. Those are ridiculous numbers, and one drawback of those long 7yr contracts. They still have at least 4yrs to go (Lavia 5yrs) and some are on wages worth more than their value.

    Lavia and Fofana most definitely but Badiashille is not a good enough CB so just move him on.

    Still has 4yrs on a 90k/w contract, and has been reluctant to move on for the last 2 windows. Might be one they would have to give the Sterling/Disasi treatment.

    Next summer will test the James situation if they were persisting with him or just trying not upset the fanbase by getting rid of the club captain. They need to extend his contract, or put him on the market.

    Agreed. He is quality on the ball and makes some really good defence splitting passes. Exactly what we need to open teams up. We just have to keep this guy fit.
