April 2, 20251 yr Maybe we could use Lesley Ugochukwu instead - the guy we signed for £22m.Just checked the Southampton forums though and they describe Big Les as "makes Geoff Thomas look like Ruud Gullit."

BlueCo will keep him on a series of loans until they can sell him for more than his depreciated book value.

He's looked like a donkey every time I've seen him, to be honest.

He's looked like a donkey every time I've seen him, to be honest.I thought he was pretty good when he first joined and played a few games but didn't quite look as promising after his injuries. That said he looked good in the game I saw of him v United but not an avid Southampton watcher so open to be corrected.Should really have just sent him back to Rennes on loan or kept him in France at Strasbourg as I think the step up was a bit much but I think he was a victim of us having too many foreign loans at the time.
April 2, 20251 yr Maybe we need to stop buying injured players ? He's gonna be pretty low in the deph chart next season, i doubt we can sell him this summer.
April 2, 20251 yr Just saw the news that he’s injured again ?Injured by what for gods sake Wet pasta is stronger than this fellaWhat is his injury
April 3, 20251 yr Makes Dominic Calvert-Lewin look like John Terry, fitness wise.Unbelievable. Actually, too believable.
April 4, 20251 yr Can't sell him, nor Fofana. Their fees make it hard, their wages impossible. Nevermind their consistent issues with injuries.Have to just ride out their contracts, maybe get them loans where we pay most, if not all, of their wages.Either way we have to count them out of being serious options for the first team.

April 22, 20251 yr I see this thread pop up and assume, most of the time correctly, that he is injured again.

April 26, 20251 yr Nice to see him back. Hopefully can stay fit thru end of season (and beyond) to build confidence and sharpness. Then we can really see what he can offer. Next season - Caicedo, Enzo, Santos, Lavia and Essugo is a nice setup, although expect one to leave.
April 26, 20251 yr A lot of people attribute our early season form down to a carry-over from Poch's system, but I think it had far more to do with having both Lavia and Caicedo as our midfield duo

He managed a total of 70 or more minutes in only 2 gamesWe won 5 games with him included, but he only started in 3 of those wins, and we were losing in one of those before he was subbed off. Sorry, but I just don't see how the good form can be put down to his inclusion.
