Well, not many Chelsea coaches have been able to find a top goalscorer in recent years. If Potter doesnt, he will be upholding a Chelsea tradition. Anyway, Brighton's recruitment team had peanuts to spend compared to us. That Japanese guy cos about £5 million.

the whole team cost less than our last transfer window splurge.

and Brighton just walloped us 4-1 , asking why Potter didn't get a goalscorer for Brighton ? The better question is why hadn't WE been able to buy one ?.

Another one who believes we just have to throw Potter loads of cash and he will get us the players we need. I wish i could be that confident, he thought Cucurella was a good player, and we've yet to see that.

A lot of people are putting too much on the 1.5 good seasons Brighton have had. Sean Dyche took Burnley into Europe, Nuno had Wolves constantly in the top half, Brendan Rodgers almost got Leicester into the Champions League. I doubt any of us would be happy handing them hundreds of millions in the hope that they could have us competing with Man City.

Who we sacked.

And since then Potter has used Cucurella as second choice. Correctly.

I mean we handed Lampard millions and look at what we got for it. I give credit to Lampard for helping the younger players, especially Tammy, but he spent a lot and we are no better off. Lampard had done very little as a coach at the time. Sarri hadn't won anything and we bought Pulisic and Jorginho under his watch. I don't know how much of those were board signings though. Lampard for sure had a say in Havertz, Ziyech, Werner. A lot of money spent to not improve us.

Chelsea have just recruited a number of senior staff including Vivell, Shields, and Winstanley being appointed to be the club’s global recruitment team. Neil Bath, one of the mainstays of our academy reaching the heights, has also been promoted to director of operations.

Surely these will help Potter though maybe not immediately.

Never realised we have also taken Brightons head of recruitment. Where do we stop.  They cant have many senior staff left

We stop when we become Brighton. That's how much Boehly fancies them. f**ker bought the wrong club and now trying to turn us into them.

I don't believe that at all.

Annoying how we bottled it last year:

One of those clubs had the owner removed and  the club sold under order of the UK government.

two centre backs left.

both wing backs are injured.

the manager was sacked by the new owners after buying him expensive players. He was replaced by someone trying to manage a top.team for the first time in his life.

er, that's it really

This just shows under Tuchel we would've been easily able to compete with Liverpool and Man City, provided he had the right players. The problem was the recruitment not the tactics, we should've got a good director of football instad of firing the manager.

But doesn't the manager have a say in transfers along with recruitment team ?.

What about the ex Bournemouth manager, no one would give him millions either would they ?

I can't even remember his name, ...true !

Did we even have a recruitment team this summer?

I think people are a bit confused. Brighton staff aren't coming because Todd wants to turn us into Brighton, they are coming because Potter is the manager, and he is obviously having a say in the senior staff decisions. If we hired Simone, no doubt there probably would have been a few Atletico staff coming here.
