From bottom of the group to top of the group in 6 days. Better than I expected, I thought we were done after the poor start we had.

Same, that's some turnaround. All on Potter to be fair, he's done a great job.

Considering Hernandez is rated so highly, James mauled him while he was on.

He could fit well in the PL IMHO. But he's their captain so I don't think he'll go anywhere.

Yeah big lad and does look decent. Think it just shows where James is right now.

Wouldn't swap him for any player in the world. Not had a full back like it since Cole.

Another highlight for me as well, controversial it might be but, surely put to bed Leao talk. Keep your money in your bin Todd. Great going forwards in odd bursts, as soon as the ball is a yard away from him he totally gives up. More disinterested in working off the ball than Bruno Fernandes.  Pass.

Thought he was brilliant against Wolves, fittest I've seen him in ages.

First thing I noticed when Holy Lord Potter took you over was how physically poor your boys were. A sense that something has been lacking in the sports science department.

Anyway, Graham will sort it. In all of his seasons as a manager, the team has performed better results and football wise in the second half of the season compared to the first.

In a year, Chelsea will be the fittest team in the PL... all without doing one single training session without the ball.

for all who think that is not a red card, in PL no ref would give it except Taylor against us of course, but in the CL they stick with the rules and Tomori had no intention what so ever to play for the ball. and by the rules it’s red. Rio just confirmed it.

and they have new rules with a handball this season. no matter if it is accidental or not every ball hand touch is automatic penalty, I’ve seen it just can’t remember the game.

Bang on. Thank you. Been saying this for a long time now. Players are already getting fitter and more mobile

We are already getting the better player in Nnkunku.

Great result in Milan. Poor refereeing to send off Tomori for that penalty, for me it was a penalty and a yellow at most. And the ref was on edge in the first half, thankfully the Valium worked in the second half. Anyway, great penalty by Jorginho and great play for the second goal. Milan did not look very dangerous even with 11, the looked disinterested, but we have played them well in both matches. Next it’s Salzburg away, who certainly are going to give us more trouble. But we’re top of the group!

Mount silencing the Pulisic fanboys!

On a more serious note I am glad that he is stepping up in the last few games. It also looks like Potter is giving him more freedom across the pitch behind sterling and auba

He has just said in his interview that one of the changes Potter has asked for is for him to get in the box more. Also said that Potter's aim is to link the midfield to the front line more closely.

We needed these wins over Milan. The result in Zagreb puts the group in our control now.

Tough environment and evening. Game runied by the ref. I always look at these calls and say would I think it was fair if it happened against us.

Penalty? Very harsh, but Tomori gave the ref an option. Worse contact happens in the box every game and pens are rarely given for it, so very harsh. The pen would have seemed unfair had it been against us, the red card is nonsense imo

Job done. Well done to Potter and the team.

I think it's a penalty. Mount is off balance with his shot because Tomori dragged him back twice. If Mount threw himself on the floor instead of keeping going, nobody would complain. But the red is harsh. Especially as I thought there was a rule change regarding double punishment?

I thought that double jeopardy thing was just for keepers

This is totally off topic , but I was checking out the highlights of this match on Youtube, and I saw another video of the ManU-Everton match of Sunday, which ManU won 2-1.  The analysts at a studio were Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand, and some other guy.

My question is what's up with Rio?  When he talked, he could barely enunciate, and his mouth looked like he has dentures that would fall out if he did not keep his mouth somewhat closed at all times.  He looked really weird talking, and I had never seen him as an analyst before until just now, and I was totally shocked at the way he looked and especially the way he talked.  If I did not know any better, I would have thought I was listening to a speech-impaired person.

Thoughts?

And the problem as well is that if they randomly drug tested him he'd "forget" to go.

Played a good game, the red card obviously helped ( I thought was harsh), but we scored the second before they had a chance to get back into the game, and played out the game comfortably there after. Mount is getting back to his usual self, goals aren't far away now. Auba is scoring when he's playing, haven't had a striker like that since Costa. Defensively we are solid, KK really played well in those 2 Milan games. Midfield is still work in progress, but Kovacic, RLC all getting better.

DENYING A GOAL OR AN OBVIOUS GOAL-SCORING OPPORTUNITY (DOGSO)

Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling,
pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off.

interesting, it’s also a rule in the FA Laws of the Game, who’d ever think of that, hah. It’s a f**king red card, all day long.

If Tomori had pulled Mase back anywhere else on the pitch it's a foul, in the box it's still a foul. Last man and a clear scoring opportunity = Dead on penalty and red card.

It's humorous hearing the rebuttals. How Mount was able to get his shot off so there was in fact a goal scoring opportunity.

Did Tomori's foul impede Mount from having a better goal scoring opportunity? Yes? Did Tomori foul Mount in the box without any attempt to get the ball? Yes.
