July 20, 20241 yr I know it's all speculation, but still can't get around the idea he will be banned from Chelsea teams for what he did with the Argentina national team. I'm trying to think of a similar offence while on international duties, e.g. violent conduct post game, or abusing a referee. Surely, any bans should be targeted at games for Argentina, not the club team.
July 20, 20241 yr I agree, the club will deal with the internal issues but I think FIFA will target national team (if anything), not Chelsea. The fact the Argentinian government and their FA have doubled down I think fifa will hope it dies down too and they just brush it under the rug. They might fine the Argentinian FA but that might increase political involvement and pressure as Argentina already fired the minister for saying they should at least apologise via Messi (capt). It's a very thin rope to walk on for fifa. In rgds to the club...fine, re-education maybe even a small ban (till he's "re-educated"*) but importantly they will hope the other lads can forgive Enzo. *maybe during a few training sessions and games during pre-season PR can show Enzo is busy getting "re-educated" away from the team somewhere, doing something useful. Here we go with the "re-education" idea again, what do you suppose he will do in that case? Be like Bart and write "I must not mock the french nor the africans" a hundred times on the blackboard? (oh sorry, i didn't mean to offend anyone, let's just say whiteboard instead just in case) He knows he f....ed up (and should be fined and suspended for a certain amount of games for sure), but i can clearly see based on his previous actions and behaviors that he's not racist at all (of course you can claim otherwise but that's just your opinion). Whatever you can make him do or say as this so called "re-education" will be no more valid than his PR apology on his Instagram account, and will accomplish nothing. Edited July 21, 20241 yr by Upb78

Generational talent apparently. He is the next big ting, after the next big thing, after the next big thing, after Estevao, who of course, is the next big thing....oh except for Santos who was the last next big thing.

Not an idea...you might want to read the official chelsea statement first. And no...until they say what the "re-education" is I don't have a clue what it is. As I've said in a previous post, I don't think he's racist deep down but opinions on the matter are irrelevant as we've promised to move on from that. What's that saying about opinion and arseholes.. lol I personally hope it accomplishes something...at least to learn "not to be a dick" maybe think first too, things like that. Unless he's too thick to learn even that...won't put it past him. Edited July 21, 20241 yr by Simplymo
July 21, 20241 yr Why are we letting the FA allegedly banning our player for an incident that happened while away on International duty ? If a player is sent off or booked for their country it doesn't count in our league ,so this outcry is international not internal. I appreciate that some of his teammates may well be pi**ed and want to see some sort of punishment but 6 games ..no
July 21, 20241 yr I think Chelsea will ban Enzo. In terms of international games it shouldn't affect Chelsea. If Fifa bans him, fine.
July 21, 20241 yr Im curious, how did he play in the Copa de America? Did he kept being a bystander as last season or has the surgery helped him regain form?

I do think it's a really ridiculous idea and it's the perfect example of the woke ideology that's contaminating the world. Lessons must be learned (as i am sure Enzo has), some punishment must be applied, but this has gotten really out of hand, this is not search for justice, this is not antiracial campaing or education, this is a witch hunt, and i'm completely sure that nohing good will come out of this. If you look at the CFC training videos it looks like a storm in a teacup from a dressing room point of view, at least while he is still on leave. It's quite clear the players want to play, want to play Maresca's system at least until it fails. Enzo is out of sight out of mind. Of all our "stars" Enzo is the one we can most easily do without in the short term.

July 22, 20241 yr Wow. I have always liked Argentina but never knew this dark side about them. I wouldn't look at it as a bit too much if I heard someone refer to them as a despicable group of people.
July 22, 20241 yr Difficult position for Enzo now, he's apologised and shown remorse for the celebrations but the Country have now doubled down on the whole thing. Not Enzo's fault what happens from here but that's the consequences sadly.
July 22, 20241 yr He and Cucurella will be slaughtered by other fans next season for very different reasons!
July 22, 20241 yr Was at Riverplate over weekend apparently and fans sang the song again. He has really bad advisors he should have kept his head down and stay away from the spotlight🤦🏾♂️ Edited July 22, 20241 yr by El regreso

He has really bad advisors he should have kept his head down and stay away from the spotlight🤦🏾♂️ The thing is this chant has been sung for some years now by the Argentinian fans. Even at the WC, even against France in the Final. Why nobody seemed bothered back then? Why now, in a bus full of players singing it, Enzo Fernandez is the only one singled out? Is he a racist for singing it, or for filming it? Because from what I see it's ok for others to sing it, the media is quiet on that front, but Enzo is crucified because he is the one to record it. So you are not a racist if you sing something, you need to record it to fall into that category. I see nothing on United's Martinez and Garnacho, both in the bus singing and laughing. But there is no racism as long as they did not go on live or record it with their personal phone. 🤡🤡🤡
