Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea

Thought he had a decent run out, would've kept him on personally.

Should have had two assists for Gallagher and one for Jackson.

Agree he needs to use his pace in behind more like he did in his debut against Liverpool. Don't think we'll see that until we see Enzo and Caicedo next to each other with a proper 10.

The Gallagher chance summed him perfectly. Good interplay, great pace and decent skill to get to a good position to pull it back, the pull back was terrible though, just had to roll it into the box on the ground but he lifted it for some reason to a height no once could do anything with. I saw people slagging Gallagher off but Im not sure what he was expected to do with a ball to his stomach.

Was more the second chance he made for Conor for me that Conor was poor on. That first touch was a bit heavy and left him swinging at the ball, which unfortunately went right at the keeper.

Definitely needs refining but he was the one who looked like he could create something. I hope he gets an extended number of starts.

To me he looks like a threat for the opposition when in the right areas, needs to play more. Didn't agree with taking him off at all.

To date he has not looked as good as eg CHO in a blue shirt. A player whose just been offloaded for a few mill to Forest.

don’t forget this lad Mudrick wants not scouted per say but the owner decided to sign him on a whim for a huge and silly amount of money handicapping with that price tag with the media and us the fans. so if he never develops and never gets better than CHO was in a blue shirt let’s not act all surprised , he’s done nothing before Chelsea and done nothing so far for Chelsea

Amusingly, CHO has just scored a cracker on debut for Nottingham Forest this evening 🙂

Felix scored on his debut for Barca. Pulisic has been netting regularly in Serie HA HA HA.

Let's bring them all back.

Sing along : "You don't know what you've got, until it's gone ... and I found out a little too late ... " LOL

We should have settled for mediocrity while we had the chance ... 🙂

Strange the way we are set up currently.. He was so isolated last match and Colwill was playing nothing balls into him and never made a single overlapping or underlapping run.. even sterling struggled when he moved to the left..

had Conor been able to sort out his feet with the chance created in the opening 10 mins we would have had a different conversation..

Why can’t any of our CBs play on a two..

If you want your fb to overlap,  your winger to keep the ball hold it and then allow the fb to overlap. He can't take the ball and run 100 km/h or worse just lose it.

I was trying to make two points..

1) the balls into him were off poor quality and Colwill was deep in our own half with Mudryk receiving it on the halfway line..their midfield and full back where easily able to double team and apply pressure and he just couldnt hold it. This was clear 30-35 mins in, still poch or players didn’t recognize and try to reach him differently..

2) when we were in posession in their half .. there was no overlapping run or underlapping runs to create space for him to exploit with his pace..

we were set up to feed Sterling who didn’t have a great day ..

all of this aside I would still expect him to do better he looks very average right now.

Hmm no. Finding separation is a skill.  You need to watch how elite winger looks like they are free all the time. Mudryk ability to find separation is very bad.

If he want to use his speed, he need to run behind.

Maybe this is a discussion where we need the screen in front of us.. But again we are talking different things  - Separation and Running in behind..

Separation is something hazard was great at, putting himself between the defender and the ball. Yes Mudryk needs to do that better but there were a couple of mitigating factors too. Firstly i think that Forest played this brilliantly - His Square passing lanes were cut-off and they put him under pressure. In such a scenario we needed to play to his right foot since he had his back to the goal.. and then Colwill tries plays a one two with him to build up play either by coming closer or overlapping/underlapping.. Colwill did none. No wonder even Sterling struggled.

To run in behind we need the other team to not play such a low block which never happened. Had we scored early we may have seen it.

Think Bournemouth gave us like 20 opportunities to score when we evaded their press. So much space in the midfield that we completely squandered. It was embarrassing. Palmer not shooting (something 10 times out of 10 he would've done at City) during that counter and instead overhitting a pass to Sterling is something we have seen before time and time again. There is something deeply imbedded in this club/culture that makes our players have no ruthlessness in front of goal. This needs fixing.

Mudryk had opportunities to go in from behind but we never exploited it. Mudryk always came deeper and Max Aarons had him in his pocket. Again. This needs coaching.

I was talking more about bournemuth. One of the reason why poch played Mudryk vs bournemouth is because bournemouth doesn't play low block.

Mudryk is just a very strange player. His best attributes by far is his speed but all he want is to comeback to get the ball and try to dribble past player.

Agreed. Likewise the opportunity near the end where Conor had a great chance to play Jackson into goal and put the pass behind him, slowing up the play. While it was a poor pass, Conor also had a possibility to shoot and you knew he wouldn't

no club should be spending £80m for a player that needs to be sent out on loan We may kid ourself that it is to help his development but is it because he is not good enough.

Or it could also be a complete load of made up nonsense.
