That would be utterly embarrassing on our end to try and pick off De Zerbi off Brighton all things considered.

Agreed but might just be worth biting the bullet on this one.

The only strong counter argument against De Zerbi is his lack of experience managing at big clubs, otherwise he fits the bill for the aforementioned reasons in my first post.

I wouldn't mind giving Zidane or Poch a punt, similar to the contract we gave Tuchel 2 years ago.

Tuchel was a gamble at the time and numerous people didn't rate his PSG experience even though it's aged very well.

But I definitely wouldn't be against giving an interim job to maybe someone like Enrique for the time being and look for someone in the summer. There's got to be someone who would like to take this job with 4-5 months left with the quality we have to work with, there's hardly any pressure that comes with it also. We're not going to sack 3 managers in a season.

I will happily change my stance on Potter if Zeta is the one to take over. You can see he is both strict and fair, as well as having lots of experience dealing with divas, by how he has handled @Munkworthin the prediction thread.

Comedy Youre The Man GIF by The Ed Sullivan Show

That just proves he won’t be able to keep the big egos happy. I’m 100% #ZetaOut I’m afraid.

Personally i like Pochetino as a manager, although I hate the fact he managed spurs. His playing style, formation 4.3.3 and the fact he gives young players a chance (he made delle ali look like world class for goodness sake) pochetino would suit our squad perfectly.

Zidane would be my choice though, he has plenty of experience with egos and high pressure result driven with madrid to succeed with us.

Gasperini is another one, Atalanta play beautiful football and have overachieved over the years despite selling their best players every year. Downside is that he is 65 now, plays mainly back 3 and last big team he managed Inter didn't not end well.

Hansi Flick is an interesting one, he underachieved slightly with Germany but he was brilliant at Bayern, very organised, disciplined and ruthless. I can see him do well for us.

I would offer no more than 3 years contract whomever we choose as manager.

What about Luciano Spaletti? Napoli have been playing amazing football this season, we could get him in the summer

He’s 63 years old and doesn’t speak English.

Top coach but no reason to leave Napoli, besides.. he’s been a bit of a journey man up until this glorious moment, he ended his playing career at Napoli and now, as a manager, his defining moment is at Napoli, no reason to leave.. at 63 years old he doesn’t need this sh*tshow; De Laurentis will be able to give him a nice new bumper contract now.

A certain mr Silva as player manager please. Issue with poch tbf I'd hate us to have him .

However much I love Thiago Silva, he has no managerial experience. Why would we go for that? The days of Vialli and Gullit as player-manager are over.

To the end of the season , he has no managerial experience per se , but, just watch him, listen to him,  go back and actually listen to how he speaks  the isnt many in the world with that experience. And reiterating,  until the end of the season, he will go back to south america soon.

The fact Pochetino is winning this vote shows we should stick with Potter for now.

Someone should redo this poll with Tuchel as one of the options

Thiago Silva signed a cotract extension, he's with the club for the 2023-24 season. He may be an experienced player, there's more to being a manager than being an experienced player who speaks well about football I doubt whether he even has his badges, and even if he has, he would be too much of an unknown entity as a manager or head coach. If Todd et al. sack a manager they took a (failing) gamble on, they would not take an even bigger risk, even for a few months. No point in that.
