Dude...watch the match again if you can. He did tons of link up plays and held the ball well too. I know the blinkers are on fully closed mode but try and watch it again bud. He was good good off the ball too. There were times there was tons of space for the others to run into.

He’s doing ok I reckon, has his flaws but has some redeeming qualities too. The hate he gets is ott , there’s probably been at least 10 worse strikers at the club in the last 10 years. 

 @nonotnowjim... I respect your opinion but disagree on Jackson. 

I just happen to think he has some good attributes in him and that's cool as well. I guess we'll just have to beg to differ on his contribution to the team but we can all agree that if he or the team keeps banging in goals, whoever scores and how they come, we keep winning, we'll all be happier. 

Afterthought edit: who would you prefer for the price point. 35 million for Jackson, 30 million for Niketa from the goonies.

I would literally, prefer 99.9% of other players than Jackson. That would include any player already at Chelsea, from the youth team upwards.... I would prefer Nketia. I would prefer a 43 year old Soloman Kalou.

 

I 100% get that my position is extreme, and in all probability irrational.  But it remains, that I cannot stand this guy. I actively dislike so much about him - from his play, his finishing, his stupidity, his attitude, his face, his story about not having boots,  both as a player and as a person (and again, i get this is irrational as I dont know him!)....

I know that @Simplymo has high hopes that I will one day be converted....and tbh, I hope he is right. Because it sucks to have this much disdain for a chelsea player.  But I cant see it happening. It would need balon d'or levels of performance for me to even contemplate giving him a place in our squad - let alone on the pitch.

If his role was to drop into the 10, do some flicks and link up with his team, or receive the ball and turn and bring it forward, he'd be great. Problem is when he's expected to actually put the ball in the net...

By god you can feel however you want about people but when those views are as negative,strong and could stoke emotions of others, you'd do well to yourself and the world to keep it private.

I put these special glasses on to watch it again Simplymo, and you are right. This time he looked like a cross between Pele, Maradona and Gerd Muller.

 

A question we need to ask is where we want to go? Who do we want to be measured against? Who do we want to compete with?

Would Jackson be the starting centre-forward for Citeh? Bayern? Real? Barca? Would he even be the starting centre-forward at Brighton? Would any of those teams fans be happy to have him as their starting centre-forward? Of course, the answer is no. And the answer, unfortunately, is no because he isn't that good.

Badiashille has been setting up centre forwards like that for over a season now...

His goal return is actually decent though. Yes, he can be super infuriating with his finishing and also with his general play, but there is a lot of raw talent there. Don't forget that he ist still young and only became a regular in a top league in the second half of the 2022/2023 season and that he is playing in a very unstable team. When put it into perspective he's had a very decent start to life in the PL. I do hope he improves his finishing and his decision making though.

Jackson may not be the calmest at finishing currently, but he can link up the play, as well as dribble effectively into advanced areas.

He's no worse than Drogba at his age, who even in his first season with us was constantly questioned.

Keep going Jackson your efforts are appreciated even though you can be frustrated as hell at times.
