August 17, 20232 yr Strange one, but respect the guy to stick with Palace. To be honest, I don't think he will improve us that much, may as well trusting our 80M winger from Ukraine.

Parish: Now look here Paul we're really unhappy about this Olise business, we think you've tapped the boy up. Winstanley: What makes you think that Steve, all we have done is activated the release clause. Parish: Aha, but how did you know about the release clause, it was only us and Michael that knew about it. Winstanley: Erm, well Steve its like this. Michael's brother is in our academy and he mentioned to one of our coaches that Michael had a release clause and was interested in Re-joining Chelsea. Parish: Um, er, well okay then. i think the problem is that the PL will be itching to find an excuse to f**k us over

Looking at it from the outside the so called tapping up can only be related to the "secret" release clause. Realistically we could only have come by that knowledge from either a member of the Palace hierarchy (unlikely) or from Olise or within his camp directly. Dare we suggest that maybe this has been an agents ploy to either get a move for their client or get a renewal at Palace with a suitable hike I salary.

August 18, 20232 yr Author So how the hell do clubs usually activate a release clause without "tapping up"?

Very clever agent borderline black mail he probably had access to the evidence and not Palace.

August 18, 20232 yr Thing is I think our interest ends here. I don't think the club will take too kindly to being used as a stalking horse for a new deal.

August 18, 20232 yr Oh well we can’t get greedy i suppose. He’ll be at city next summer if he has a good season at Palace, if not he could be regretting turning us down.
April 22, 20242 yr Every time he plays he's one of the best players in the league, it's shame he's injury prone because I think he's an instant upgrade on what we have and arguably just as good as Palmer. I'd ship Mudryk and Noni out for him.

Both, very good players. Eze is stronger, has slightly better hooting ability imo (although Olise has scored some bangers) and is good on either foot but Olise probably has higher ceiling as he is 3/4 years younger. Olise is definitely a better croser and has better dribbling ability. Similar to Saka I would say. Both players have their injury issues which is the worry but on the day they are both class players. If they remained fit, they would be even better. This may prevent Eze getting a big move but if both stays fit, both can play for better teams. It isn't unusual to hear likes of Olise get released at his age by us and other PL clubs. Quite common but to think Millwall released Eze at age of 16, where some players are preparing for first team action, is crazy! Eze must of put in some serious work on the training ground and iin the gym to get past that and come back as one of the top players in the PL. Millwall would have been in the Championship then too which is even more crazy to think they released him. Have to give him credit.

I think all of the rumour is not about us signing him at all, its about us getting a 20% sell on. For the money that Palace will try to get form us for Olise i would rather we went in hard for Kudus from West Ham. More versatile and we might have something to offer them as a bit of a trade off.

Just had a look and he really is versatile. Can imagine West Ham demanding over £60m+ for him.
April 24, 20242 yr We had our chance for Olise last summer but blew it. Then again I think it was because of our failure to sign him that we went for Cole Palmer.

As for Olise, right wing is the one position we are well stocked between Palmer, Noni, Hutchinson, Gabriel and Paez (in a couple of seasons) so I wouldn’t prioritize spending money there

Could he play on the left? I also rate Eze highly: Eberechi Eze & Michael Olise: Crystal Palace will entertain £60m bids - BBC Sport
April 25, 20242 yr Would imagine if we are serious about this we either look to sell Noni or included him in a swap.
