If this is how Enzo wants his number 10 to be playing then it makes sense Nukuku isn’t getting any game time. Why? The same Nkunku that has played countless games in his career in a deeper midfield role i imagine would be much more suited than Palmer.
November 29, 20241 yr I usually think Bob's a nutjob but i agree with him here. Nkunku would be far more useful dropping deep to receive the ball and keep Palmer as high as possible for end product.

Palmer is one of those players who needs a free reign - to play anywhere. He's great around the box but in some games, he could be rather isolated and not see much of the ball - same as if he's played out wide. We need him involved in our play as much as possible, but I do agree, he can do most damage when he is in and around the opposition box.
November 29, 20241 yr Then the answer is simple - play Nkunku alongside Caicedo in deep midfield with Cucurella at left back. In the attacking phase Cucurella moves into midfield with Nkunku occupying the left half attacking space with Palmer the right half attacking space.

November 29, 20241 yr I think the interpretation is simple: Whoever Gusto Fofana Colwill Cucurella Nkunku Nkunku Nkunku Nkunku Nkunku Palmer

December 1, 20241 yr I love listening to French commentary when Palmer scores, they seem to love the guy. https://x.com/tekkersfoot/status/1863240740471533981 @Mod I've been having a problem embedding links from Twitter (X) of late. I always get this when I copy and paste a link The link could not be embedded because there is no tweet at that URL. Not sure if it's a problem with the site or Elon Musk messing up things on Twitter again.

I'll have a look! A new upgrade is coming in the next few months, so that will sort it out, as the embedding on that is next level!
December 3, 20241 yr If we play Champions League next season and he continues his numbers since he joined us he’s surely a credible Ballon winner? He's that good that by the time defenders work out a way to stop him he can just change it up. He makes international level defenders look stupid and does it effortlessly at times. Let’s just hope we can satisfy his ambitions.
December 5, 20241 yr If Maresca can get this guy back to his very best we can win the league this season already. Still producing so feels odd ot complain but bar Brighton & Newcastle he hasn't really reached the heights of last season in terms of performances. And if we can get him back to his last season best as well? Anything can happen then. Edited December 5, 20241 yr by OriginalS

This season he has 8 npg in 14 matches. Hard to say he's still not performing at last seasons heights. He also has 6 assists compared to 12 last season... By those metrics he's performing better

Everything last season was about getting the ball to Palmer and telling him to do something with it. Now we can trust others on the ball to do something, which takes away from Palmer, but I think significantly improves us as a team. Edited December 5, 20241 yr by Scott Harris

We were a one man team last season but now have others able to create and score. Almost everything good came from Palmer last season and I’m more than happy that others are now contributing more. Palmer still stands head and shoulders above though.
