From what is available I would be okay with Amorim and possibly even Xavi. Anyone else appears to be a major gamble. Even with the Brighton love in, you can tell that RDZ is a hot head and could be just as high maintenance as a Conte if things are not working right. It's alright at Brighton if it's not working cos you're under the radar. At Chelsea when it starts kicking off I can see RDZ being a bit of a prat.

I see RDZ being a prat without things kicking off.

Roberto De Zerbi began to get more demanding without necessarily having the full range of achievements to go with it. The Brighton hierarchy were understood to be fed up. (via @MiguelDelaney)

Roma hasn't win any European trophy in their history and the last time they won anything was like 15 years ago

If it's so easy to win at Roma why nobody done it before ?

On that basis I assume you also want us to get David Moyes, as he won a club their first trophy in 44 years thanks to winning the very same tournament a year later.

Moyes wasn't that bad either for west ham pal , he made them top 4 contender for some times back then, he was legitimately their legend now

Although it's unfair to compare Mourinho to him , one won 26 major trophies you know

Yes, Jose is a GOAT level manager, Ronaldo is a GOAT level player yet the mere thought of signing him in the 2023 window (rightly) had Chelsea fans losing their minds.

It's not 2012 anymore.

Doesn't matter whom they appoint, the lucky devil wont get more than a season or 2, they have no intention of appointing a proper elite manager who can win trophies. That is unimportant to these owners, the only reason they want top 4 is for the increased revenue stream not for the chance for the club captain to hoist Big Ears for a 3rd time; likewise the UEFA comp next summer we have miraculously qualified for- its one more marketing opportunity for them.

They control the players in and out based upon their business plan targets not for any success on the pitch. Thus all of the posts above enjoyable as they are mostly missing this context, we as seasoned football fans default to the dreams of winning trophies and getting up the league high as possible. That is the polar opposite of Clearfake's goals, they only see those aspirations as more potential revenue but not absolute requirements as under the previous ownership. They will have a bottom line of course - solvency and staying in the division as they should.

I for one could not give a monkeys whom they engage as 1st team coach, they have set their stall out now with Poch's removal and their statement of intent re the qualities sought for the next 1st team coach (not manager). Good luck to them and I hope I'm wrong about the greedy septic mothafukas but I doubt it.

In a while we will get a manager that management are happy with and who is happy with management. Then things will settle down. It's a journey for new owners with a new strategy. We are about 1 season or even a season and half behind where I hoped we would be but personally I am backing the young players, new identity strategy all the way. It's true that one or two players who have already won something big might add another element of steel. Many a team has found you need to lose a final before you learn how to win one. Even Man City took a couple of seasons to get going.

I think its very clear that neither Potter or Poch was exactly the right fit, but Poch was closer.

Next season if we don't lose say Jackson or Caicedo or Palmer to injury and we get the others back we will have a team that is already one season down the track making the next manager's job easier.

This idea that the owners are idiots and don't care about the club, dont care about winning, don't care about performances only care about selling players to get back some money is very very unlikely to be the truth. Of course they care about money, if you don't manage the money you cant move forward see eg Barcelona.  But noone buys a big football club to have it come mid table every season.

I genuinely believe that the owners have taken the most ambitious path of any global football club since the Man City money came in and I am hopeful I think with some ground for optimism it will be a success. But yes risky. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Further we have been going backwards under the previous owner ever since Jose came back for his second spell and notwithstanding Conte's fantastic season.

"greedy septic mothaf**kas" eh. You don't get many thanks around the place that's for sure. I'd far rather be a chelsea supporter at the moment than manu or liverpool or cites or even arsenal.

and just regarding the financing. I think we should be proud that we have owners that have potentially found a way to build a team capable of winning the premier league without breaching the ffp rules. ManC could yet be in huge legal trouble, Newcastle are struggling to progress up the ladder due to those same rules. By contrast we clearly have a squad that given a bit of luck with injuries and maybe a few variations here and there can give the title a good shot. That's thanks to buying young players and putting them on long contracts and taking advantage of the opportunity that Roman had to sell. That's brains, it's thinking different. They've backed the ambition with a lot of spending. Now they need a manager who can convert their spending into trophies. That's what it's about. In my opinion, not about sacking poch because they need to sell Gallagher because they bought Caicedo. Although the latter is part of it no doubt.

Clearlake want someone to get the very best form the big signing, Enzo, Caicedo and Mudryk.

RDZ already has managed the latter two, Colwill considered staying at Brighton because of RDZ and he will recreated his Mc Allister and Caicedo combo with Enzo in his fellow argies place.

If everyone is fit (ha ha) RDZ will likely pick a side like this:

Kepa/new ball playing keeper

James

Fofana

Colwill

Gusto

Caciedo

Enzo

Cucurella

Palmer

Nkunku

Mudryk

It is also possible he puts Mudryk in Cucurellas place, allows him more freedom that Gusto, and frees up a forward place for a striker or another player (like the recently linked Olise).

TT tried Cucu as wb and it was a horror show.

That's absolutely right when i think about it Cucu has little of the wing and much of the back about him. It may be RDZ, the argument is plausible. I hope not for the same reason I don't want Amourin, it means going to a back 3 when we dont have the personnel for that system at all.

Players get washed with time, manager don't as long as they pick the right club to manage
