August 1, 2025Aug 1 I really like Guiu. I think he has the makings of a serious #9 in a couple of years.Probably a candidate to get Hutchinson'd (flipped after a successful loan spell).Him and Delap share a lot of the same traits. Guiu has more pressing venom (literal dog to a bone), Delap is a better ball striker, Guiu has better link-up and movement, Delap is more of a c**t.Go & smash it son.
August 1, 2025Aug 1 Good move for him, however I think I would have preferred he joined a good Championship team, such as Ipswich. Sunderland will be most likely around the relegation zone and won't create much chances and he may struggle to make a real impact there. I remember when Abraham went on loan to Swansea who were in the prem and he started fairly well, then after struggled to make an impact and was frozen out. Following season, he joined Villa on loan who were in the Championship and helped fire them to promotion. Scored 26 goals in 40 games when I check which was a phenomenal record.Following season, he was our no.1 striker. I felt the Swansea loan was good but a wake up call for Abraham. Guiu at the same age has not had no way near the same experience Abraham did and that is why I think it is important we give him exposure to a good league in the Championship first. I also would say that Abraham was ahead of development than Guiu is at the same age and had more first team competitive football. I would have preferred he goes to a premiership chasing team such as Leicester, Ipswich or Coventry where Lamps is and then take it from there. But, it is a good move. I just hope he gets enough chances to make an impact.

Both Isidor and Mayenda scored some goals for them last season.
August 1, 2025Aug 1 Always wary of our players being loaned to newly promoted clubs, they are often the 1st dropped once clubs struggle for results, especially if they're attacking players.Hopefully he starts well and becomes integral to how they play and gets starts.
August 1, 2025Aug 1 He needs to find his confidence. He missed a few sitters last year when in blue and could see the confidence drain out of him. no questions on effort, looks like he has ingredients to be a good striker. Just hope he finds the net early on and builds on momentum. Sink or swim for him at this level. Best of luck, might have just got my fantasy football sub striker.
August 1, 2025Aug 1 Did any see this little snippet “Sunderland had also shown interest in Chelsea's Deivid Washington who has been on loan at Santos but the move for Guiu represents another coup in what is proving a busy summer for the Wearside club.”
August 1, 2025Aug 1 Sunderland have showed some real intent this summer, i like to see a club go for it when they come up. Forest did it and it paid off.Habib Diarra will be a fantastic signing for them and surprised a bigger team wasn't in for him, they certainly won't miss Jobe. Le Fee offers the creativity and still find it insane he went to the Championship in the first place.Xhaka is an interesting signing but certainly offers the leadership in a young midfield and experience in the league.

Most of all, a bit of mongrel.

Lets see what improvements they make at the back between now and September.

I really like him, hope this isn't going to be a waste of of a loan for him , early days yet though.

August 31, 2025Aug 31 What is going on? So Munich deal is off for Jackson, Guiu is coming back, so we have basically paid to cancel his loan somehow…..Jackson must be getting sold then? Villa? Rodger’s swap??? I’ve no idea what the f**k is going on now

I’ve no idea what the f**k is going on nowThe f**kers panicked. They knew Jackson was about to sign and couldn't weigh up their options quick enough, so they just cancelled the deal. They probably thought they could renegotiate with Bayern, so recalled Guiu, now Bayern have most likely said f**k this and pulled out on the Jackson deal entirely. This is my guess at least.
September 1, 2025Sep 1 Hopefully Guiu will get some significant playing time in the PL and not sit on the bench for 80 minutes, with one or two starts in the League Cup until we go out. But I won't hold my breath.
September 1, 2025Sep 1 If Guiu is back, I hope that he will get minutes ahead of Jackson. Otherwise it will be a wasted year for the lad.

September 1, 2025Sep 1 I forgot that Guiu is only 19 (turns 20 next January). I am a little concerned that he's come back from a bad injury and that there's a chance of reinjury again. If that happens, it leaves us very short again.
September 14, 2025Sep 14 Called back, and not even making the bench - with Maresca prefering to play George out of position over this lad. Such an odd decision....

September 20, 2025Sep 20 The injury to Delap had the club sh*t themselves and recall him, but Maresca doesn't even use him. He's gone with George, who we tried to sell and isn't even a striker!
