December 15, 20241 yr I’m convinced that Chelsea can win the League this season. I’ve seen nothing from the so called contenders to make me see it going anywhere but SW6😎
December 15, 20241 yr Objectively we absolutely are in a title race. Maybe this is like Jose Mk2 season 1 All the ability to win the league. But talking it away.
December 15, 20241 yr I'm still not going to say we are there yet, but let's just say we are. Even with all of the issues we still have on the pitch, imagine how good we could be.
December 15, 20241 yr We shouldnt mistake the pungent smell of fear coming from Anfield for anything other than fear.
December 15, 20241 yr He’s a championship manager dealing with a “young and unexciting” team that “no one wants to manage” and has a dressing room filled with 40+ players to manage. We’d be lucky to get 10th.
December 15, 20241 yr We still need to sort out some positions before we can realistically take a punt to the title. However, we’re on the right track and all other, more established teams are dropping points and playing worse football. So, who knows. I’ll take second position and build from there on. A few incomings to sort out goalie and CB, and we can be a contender.
December 15, 20241 yr We're in a title race. Too many are downplaying our chances. The one thing we need to improve on is our defence. We still look fragile in this area.
December 15, 20241 yr It's possible, many things are possible. It's possible I could have a date with Kylie Minogue in the next couple of years.
December 16, 20241 yr The media for their part are trying to position us as title challengers just to try to take the pressure off their beloved Liverpool.
December 16, 20241 yr It remains to be seen if we can maintain a title challenge, but with the recent run we only need a couple more wins to make the 40 point threshold for safety this season 🙂

I assume it's more to do with cementing a narrative. 'A relatively uninspiring Liverpool side win the title at a canter because all of the other good teams simultaneously shat the bed' isn't as compelling as a title race. It still makes me laugh that finally a year comes in which Man City fall off, and Arteta's Arsenal are nowhere to be seen. Haha w**kers

It's really early still and there's even a world where we go 10 points clear at the top and then collapse, scrape Champions league but Maresca gets sacked and we bring in Pep.

December 16, 20241 yr Currently we are 2nd so we are objectively in the title race as of now. But are we IN the title race? I don't think so, I can't see us being there at the end of the season. We're on track and making amazing progress this season, but I don't trust that defence to hold up and keep us out of trouble during the difficult periods. It's still not even been a 1/2 of the season yet, plenty more of it to play out. It's amazing that we're even in the discussion, I can take that.
December 16, 20241 yr We’re doing better than expected but we still give away too many chances and it’s still early in the season. Champions league qualification I’d be happy with TBH, how we cope when a few results aren’t going our way will define this season for us. Use this year as experience and with a couple of summer tweaks to the squad (wholesale changes are not needed anymore IMO) we can really push from next year onwards hopefully. December 16, 20241 yr Some things are exactly what they seem. Every season we are in a title race until it's no longer mathematically possible. Why is it that so many Chelsea fans are so impressed with our competitors, but never by our own team? We're doing what we are doing with the players that we already have, with some potential crackers already due to come in the new year, but still 'fans' are producing lists of players that they would prefer to see in a Chelsea shirt. Right now the internet is alive with fans singing our praises, in awe of our squad .................and terrified of what we might do to Their teams chances! I love it. Sure it may end in disappointment, but wait until then to be disappointed, not while we are winning and looking pretty damned good for it too! 😉 Edited December 16, 20241 yr by TheBeard
December 16, 20241 yr We’re playing our way into the race, but they’re not ready yet. Just be good to see positive form continue and cement a CL place. Saying that, love this circus of a club. The highs and lows of being a Chelsea fan are unmatched!! If we won the league and conference league it would be one to remember!
December 16, 20241 yr Liverpool so far have been carried by Salah, 70% + overall Goal contributions so far and I dont think that is sustainable for the whole season. If those numbers were to drop whether that is due to form or injury I can see Liverpool dropping a lot of points. Plus with Andy Robertson starting to show signs of slowing down and TAA having 1 eye on the exit door I can see teams starting to find ways to negate Liverpool. We are in a similar boat with Caicedo as I don't see us winning the league if Caicedo is side-lined for a extended period of time but than again who exactly thought we'll be in a title race, I know fans who would've taken Europa League finish at the start of the season.
December 16, 20241 yr I mean, we are in the title race, and that is not always down to us. Man Citeh have totally imploded and virtually ruled themselves out of the race. Arsenal are struggling - but then that is down to their 'winning mentality' and so the scousers are on top almost by default. That is not a 'great' Liverpool team, they are just the best around at this moment in time. We are still the youngest team in the league. That is something the media are not reporting on that much. Our young diamonds. Normally the media gets behind a young team. Nkunku was our oldest player yesterday and he has just turned 27 in November. We are not 'ready' - maybe. I mean maybe we are ready? We just have to keep wining. Enzo our Captain was 'ready' enough to win the world cup after all. What do we need? A goalkeeper? I thought Sanchez was excellent yesterday - but maybe in the summer a new keeper would be good. I would take Matinez from Villa. A CB with experience? Brentford would not gave scored yesterday had we had an experienced CB who would have made the foul and taken the yellow/red card. Our players still lack gamesmanship as they have literally not played enough games ever. Even Cucurella at 26 one of our ancient players got an unnecessary red yesterday which will adversely effect the team as he will now no longer be available for selection. That kind of things means we are not ready. I think maybe we are ready. I don't think we will win the league though and i would be happy with a top 4 finish. But you never know.
December 16, 20241 yr We're ready to get 80 points this season. Most years that isn't enough. This year it might be.
