One thing I noticed is that there were no notes passed from Rosenior to the players this time around. Which means, everything went according to plan and there was no need for any further instructions.

Don't know about you lot, but I see it as positive.

so... progress?! 😅

I don't understand the Starting XI at all. It'd have been a good one against much weaker opposition, but it's like setting up a game plan while completely ignoring the opposition.

Also curiously enough there was no huddle around the football this time. I believe Chelsea players were chasing the ball throughout the game trying to assure it of their respect but the ball just wasn't buying it.

That was just embarrassing in the end. Just got picked off when City felt like it.

Don’t know where we go from here. Squad needs a major overhaul. But with no Champions League and a painfully inexperienced manager, we’re just going to fall even further behind.

And no-one at the club is going to lose their jobs over this shambles as they’d all have to sack themselves. Worrying times really.

How long before Palmer speaks out

Tbf he’s been absolute garbage and has looked a spent force for quite some time now. Only player who has any right to speak out is probably Reece, and he’s signed a new deal, and fully on board with it. Well, at least publicly.

At the end of the season, someone is going to be awarded Chelsea player of the season, and players player of the season. 🤦‍♂️

Honestly it would be hard to pick a player that deserves it right now. Maybe Joao Pedro but only because he has arguably been the best of a bad bunch.

We were decent enough in the first half.

When City stepped up the tempo from the kick off in the second half, there was only going to be one winner.

Very sadly that’s where we are unfortunately at.

Totally agree. I thought we edged much of the first half and probably should have gone into the break with a lead. But as soon as second half started you could see City had just stepped up a gear and we had no answer.

When the third goal went in I was on my feet and out of there along with thousands of others. They destroyed us 2nd half. Men against boys. Total capitulation. Embarrassing.

I think Guardiola's half time team talk was: "Lads, it's Chelsea". It did the trick.

Job done, we handed the three points to City and helped them in their goal average. Can’t be too arsed about today, it was a win win situation, unless we drew (which would have pissed me off). Funny enough, most of the supporters (non-tourists) were happy to see City take the three points.

Next week’s game against Utd will be different, we have to beat them and I will be pretty annoyed if we don’t.

We wont

Fun fact:

I dozed off when they came back from HT

I woke up at 70'

Solid timing.

Thought we were really good in the first half, and more than took the game to them. Cherki and Semenyo were completely marshalled and Haaland's best play in the first half was tracking back to stop a Santos-led break. Rodri and Silva were at sea trying to deal with Santos who was getting the ball to Palmer and Pedro in between the lines, and had them looking really dangerous.

First red flag was that first counter we had, around 10' in, where Palmer broke into space and found Neto who was the weaker option. Estevao was clear with just O'Reilly to beat on the left side. From there, for some reason the passage of play completely ignored Estevao and I think the frustration ended up getting him that early yellow. I rarely have time for conspiracies but I do agree that referees treat our players with a different standard when it comes to dissent, but also that is entirely our fault for encouraging the culture of indiscipline that has seen us rack up record levels of cards. I have no doubt that referees are either instructed or compelled to be stricter in order to keep a lid on the petulance that is expected of our players.

When I went back and watched the second half (albeit at a 30min delay thanks to the nap...) it was like a different team was out there. The game plan was clearly to score first and see what happens on the counter, and when that couldn't happen the game plan just fell apart. While it's tempting to blame Rosenior, we shouldn't forget that Man City beat us at a canter twice under Maresca last season, despite having a stronger team, and the only goal we scored was because of a debutant defender's weird mistake.

Since landing in Australia I haven't mustered up the nerve to go out and buy a sports TV package. I'm still thinking of giving it a complete miss.
