Not necessarily.  There is an inverse relation between interest rates and bond rates. Equities are more complex and equities can rise in the early part of the rising interest rate cycle because the economy is still expanding. Inflation will also eat away debt and cash. That is not where we are in this cycle but this interesting topic really doesn't have anything at all  to do with who Chelsea is going to buy and sell. If I wanted to talk about my day job here is not where I would be.

Agree there is a direct correlation between interest rates and bond rates.

Equities can be a hedge against inflation if you know which ones to invest in. Normally if savings rate rise equities will seem less appealing.

I'm wondering if the US company the Dodgers prospected revenue fortunes will have a knock-on effect at Chelsea. It should not it in normal times.

The Russia-Ukraine business and sanctions is threatening to break globalism, Imran Khan has been impeached over wanting to maintain trade links with Russia even though India continues to trade with them. EU bond margins widening between 'PIGs' in the EU and Northern economies which means the PIGs may not be able to raise through Bond issues, 8% is what the markets think is where investors will not want to buy ''PIGs' bonds due to default worries.

Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal between 55mill and 60mill for Raphinia and have agreed a 45mill deal for Gabriel Jesus.

So 2 wide players they don't really need, and still leaves them with an abysmal midfield and defence.

I still think our first choice winger is Dembele. Barca hope to keep him, but on reduced wages. Not sure that will work out for them. I suspect we will know in the next week as his contract is officially over end of June.

No it wouldn't. Just because he is one of the best players of all time, it doesn't mean we should sign him. He scored a decent amount of goals last season, but he IS on the decline. He cannot do the hard work anymore and off the ball it would be like playing with 10 men.

Ronaldo would be terrible choice.

I don't agree at all. Our main problem in the past two seasons was finishing. Ronaldo is still capable of big things and he guarantees goals. Never doubt him.

And creating clear cut chances and maintaining our momentum for more than half a season. How is Ronaldo going to score goals if we can't create chances for him? it got so bad by the end of the season that all teams had to do was sit back agaisnt us and we would waste 30 minutes knocking the ball around, doing nothing and hoping an ambitious Rudiger long range shot would fly into the back of the net. Creating chances is an issue but realistically it only occures from time to time. Second part of the season was an anomaly as we slumped into a crisis caused by different factors. In big games we usually don't have this problem but of course that is purely because of the way opponent is set up. However finishing is the major problem for us that has to be fixed somehow if we want to be competitive. If it wasn't for our poor finishing, we would've won both domestic cups this season. Just remember how frustrating was the League Cup final. Also if we had someone who could've converted chances we would've got past Real Madrid for sure.
