Joao Mario was pretty dreadful at the Euros. The one player on that side I hoped we would never buy and behold...

Yeah I thought he was one of if not the worst player I saw at the Euros.

I saw nothing about him to suggest he could play for a top side.

To be fair though you can't base a players talents simply off an international competition. Look at players like Arshavin or El Hadj Diouf they both had grea international tournaments before moving to the PL and both were flops. Then on the other side how poor was Costa in the World Cup before he has a great season for us.

That's true but I don't remember him ever standing out before the Euros. I still don't even know what position he is meant to be playing.

Doesn't look a player at all.

He was a nothing player at the euros.  Nothing good, nothing bad.  Just nothing.  If we spend money on J Mario the coach would be inclined to play him and I don't think he's gong to make a difference.

Kinda different scenarios though as Mario was dreadful not good.

I don't understand where mario would upgrade.  Unless his job is to be a box to box worker, and even then if Matic finds form he won't play.  If we want him to be attacking, well, we already have a gazillion attacking midfielders.  And he ain't moving Kante out.

Did we dodge the bullet? Joao Mario to Inter?

p.s. 45 mln EUR for such a player? Mad market. We really need to get Leicester's advisors.

I doubt we would be able to buy players the way Leicester do because of the high profile that the club has. Unless we actually pretend to be Leicester until the player is unveiled at the signing.

I'm not sure we should be spending so much on Lukaku.

Benteke and Bony are both available, probably for about 20m as their clubs don't want them.

I would take Benteke for £30m. Young enough, proven record.

I'm sure the club have looked at him though and decided against him.

I don't rate Lukaku that much above those 2 players actually.

They both have shown they can score goals in this league and in Benteke's case I think he's a more rounded technical footballer than Lukaku.

Italian paper Tuttosport reported that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has offered midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Italian champions Juventus in an attempt to ward off their interest in Nemanja Matic.

Matic remains Juve's primary target, but Conte believes the Serb will become a key part of his side, and that letting 29 year-old Fabregas go would be a lesser blow to his fortunes.

The Spaniard is the third Chelsea midfielder to be linked with Conte's former side this summer. 24 year-old Oscar is also on the Juventus radar, as Massimiliano Allegri looks for a sixth straight Serie A title, and a third under his tenure.

This worries me.

I hope Conte offered them Hazard alongside Fabregas in order to make sure they kept there hands off Matic.
