Every forum can be strange, but it can also be fantastic as well. This one is no different.

Lgood goal nando

f**k me, he's not doing too bad, brilliant penalty. Would he have stepped up for that 6  or 7 months ago? He started off his first goal by holding off the Sunderland player to let the ball run to Moses. Nice late run into the box..

A performance like this must devestate a lot of people in this thread!

I'll wait for the, it's only Sunderland comments to come soon.

Why would it devastate anyone? It's one game, he's been sh*te the majority of the season. If he does it consistetly over a period of months then great, but we've seen false dawns so often. A few goals here and there and everyone's hopes get raised, then he goes on a long run without scoring again. Meanwhile people come on here saying pretty much exactly what I am saying in rebuttal to people saying pretty much exactly what you are saying.

It's a never ending cycle.

No, do you not realise that we would like nothing more than Torres to do well ? The thing is he has been sh*te all season, i won't change my mind about him until he goes on a consistent run. I would like nothing more than Torres to prove me wrong, i have heavy doubts about it though.

The answer is no, and sadly, that is the problem. Someone who ebbs and flows like him, mentally, just cannot be relied upon as the main option

Anyway, good for him. If we can get him to a decent goal count this year (seems more than likely) he might actually be chased after by other teams. Roman can rectify his mistake and Torres can leave with some dignity intact.

Edit: just to be crystal clear, im delighted he is on a mini run, and has the confidence to take a penalty and try that audacious shot that led to the third goal.

4 goals 2 games and one assist.

Not bad, not bad at all.

As good as it is to see him scoring it's not surprising to see people so cautious, however, it would be nice to see his haters actually give him credit for today. It doesn't have to be "he's back!" or "finally we've got the player we paid for!" or anything like that because it's going to take more than 2 good games to claim that, just a simple "good performance, hope he keeps it up" would be good. Get behind your team's players and don't let your own personal agendas against him affect that.

We are saying that.

Skepticism is one thing, but cheap shots just sound silly.

He isnt Benitez.

He is the sole reason Benitez is here. Great that he's scoring, but can't forget his comments post champions league & beyond, plus his lacklustre performances since he's been here.

Wont be long before all Blues will be singing.....FERNANDO TORRES...CHELSEAS NUMBER 9....as ive said before football is a fickle game but that aside FORWARD AND UP.....Dont know what anyone thinks but at this point i wish we DIDNT have this world club thing coming up

The problem with Torres is his mentality. When the team is playing well he plays well, when the team is playing bad he is nowhere to be found. Maybe we were spoilt with drogba because he could pull it out of the bag when the team needed it

Drogba was the best striker of his generation. Not sure everyone realised it at the time, but he took teams apart single handily -  a legend on & off the pitch.
