Torres has scored more goals in open play this season than Falcao

Really ? i need evidence of this before i believe you. Falcao scored 3 goals against us in 1 game from open play.

Also another thing to take into consideration is that Falcao has only played 13 games so far this season, he has 14 goals overall. Torres has played 24 and only scored 9.

Damned if he does, damned if he don't.

Best to just part ways, the fans here have already decided it's too late no matter how many he scores.

Arse, shin, shoulder, knee, foot, head they all count.

Really? I think if he scored 30+ a season we'd all happily shut up and lock this thread.

He hasn't even scored 30 total for Chelsea. Lets not pretend hes banging them in and we are giving him a hard time over nothing. He has been sh*t since day one. Hes had a couple good games but considering that's over a 2 year period its not exactly a boasting achievement.

Do you expect us to close our eyes and pretend he is good enough to lead this Chelsea team to glory? He will be the first to admit himself, he has had far more support from us than he has earned. I'm not going to clap and cheer him and give him man of the match awards because he ran around and won a corner. I love Chelsea, he is currently holding Chelsea back. Simple as.

It was a good performance by Torres, but he has a long way to go until he convinces me that he's returning to the form that he's remembered by from his Liverpool days.

If he can score against Sunderland and in the process have a good performance, then he's beginning to progress somewhat. I felt he was unlucky against West Ham. He should have scored that header in the dying stages of the match.

Or perhaps they just aren't going to get carried away after two goals against Nordsjaelland? Especially as those are his first goals in a month and probably the last he'll score this side of Christmas. Two well taken goals tonight, but I'm not getting carried away.

I don't think anyone is getting carried away, it is what it is- 2 goals against very weak opposition in a game we scored 6 and could have scored 10 in reality.

I will give credit where credit is due, and last night he did looked sharp and did his job.

If he scored 2 goals every premier league game with a deflection and a shinner I would personally be very happy, so the way he scored the goals is not an issue for me at all. Good strikers have a nack of being in the right place at the right time, and if the net result is goals then how they come about is neither here nor there.

The real problem that we are all aware of however is that Torres doesn't produce these performances against Premiership opposition week in/week out and he could well go another 2 odd months of not scoring in the Premiership- this game doens't really change anything.

After a solid performance, the Daily Mail has now found another flaw about Torres

Bit of an idiotic article to be fair when you consider the circumstances.

If he had gone mental after scoring then surely it would have appeared that he cared more about his own goal tally than the team progressing into the knockout stages of the competition which was the big picture last night.

I am pretty sure his level of celebration was no different from any of the other scorers on the night so a complete non-story in my opinion.

It was a joke of an article. If Torres celebrated like there was no tomorrow, the Daily Mail would have then claimed he only cared about himself and not the team.

Exactly, his celebration reflected the general mood surrounding the game which was that we could score 15 goals and still go out.

Like I say it was no different to any of the other players celebartions after they scored.

The Mail really is a complete sh*t rag to be fair.

It's laughable how whenever he scores a couple of goals against sh*t opposition, he's suddenly "back".

Just out of curiosity, who has said hes "back"?

Who said he is 'back' ?

It would be laugahble if it happened, but I don't think anyone has said that have they.

Is it just me who thinks if Studge had been fit and started every game this season we'd never be in this mess in the first place?

Too many variables to really make a call like that in my opinion.

Only when Sturridge is handed a run of starts including all the big games (and pressure & expectations that go with it) will we be in a position to say whether he could lead the line and make the difference.

He may have been an improvement for the centre forward position but in my opinion, collectively we were outplayed and outclassed by both Juventus and Shakhtar for far too much of 4 games against them (mainly both away legs) for a team looking to qualify from the gorup. We rode our luck and got a result at home to Shakhtar which was probably more than we deserved if we are being totally honest here.

We didn't qualify because as a team we were not good enough, I think everyone has to be held accountable for this one, not just Torres.

Is it just me who thinks if Studge had been fit and started every game this season we'd never be in this mess in the first place?

Not just you, but Sturridge is more disliked than Torres without question.

Best of luck to him, whatever he decides to do - too bad he was never given a chance here, but I have no doubts when given a run in a side he is easily a 20 goals a season player.

Blimey! Your a bit paranoid aren't you? No one has said he is back other than 1 poster who was obviously being sarcastic.

I would say I'm surprised to come on here after he scores 2 to find people still mocking him but it happens all the time so I'm not. Some people are even calling his goals a fluke because they were not both 30 yard screamers.

Whether anyone likes it or not he is our only striker at the minute until at least january so getting him scoring is must! I know it was against weak opposition last night but it never hurts a striker to hit the back of the net. Hopefully he can get going in the premier league with a goal on saturday but we shall have to wait and see!

So which is it then?
