Didn't have a good game today.

I didnt think he was bad, however i admit that he is bloody frustrating to watch at times. Again,i think he just seems to try to hard? He is getting involved with the play a lot, but for me, i would like to see him poaching up front and not getting involved so deep. Saying that, he had some good passes and nice touches here and there. The running into a cul de sac theme has continued, as it did for many of our attacking players....

Actually I thought he did OK, all things considering. Wasted probably the best chance we had all game but he worked very hard and a few passes he made to set up his teammates were top notch.

I only saw the last 35 minutes of the game but I thought he was poor. Very very poor. The same player we have seen for the vast majority of his time here. If he wasn't called Torres I wonder what level he'd be playing at? My guess, it wouldn't be the Premiership. I know there are those who still hold out hope, but their numbers must be dwindling by the minute. A decent striker would make all the difference.

Of course you did - Come on DB, if your gonna slate the guy, at least watch the game before you do so!

Read that Gullit said "might not be a bad thing if he were to pick up an injury".

What a rotten thing to say. Gullit should be ashamed.

Do you mean the REAL Ruud Gullit or do you mean G3.7?

I can understand your current frustrations at him not being right for us but to say he is below premiership standard is one of the funniest comments I've read in a long time. I'd say at least 15 premier league teams would bite there right arm off to have him at there club. I don't know if you were joking but if you wern't then I'm worried for you.

Can't really say he was very poor if only saw 35mins 10mins of that we were ahead and trying to see the win through.

He wasn't that good but I don't think his performance was very poor.

It was difficult because we spent the whole of the first half attacking through a packed middle of the park. But he played some lovely passes without really looking much of a threat himself.

Hazard probably played the worst out of the attackers.

Chelsea just isn't the team for this guy. I see him going back to Atletico on a freebie, I don't think they'd even accept him as part of the Falcao deal. If it does happen.

It`s not working and chances are that i never will. I predict that he will be sold in january with a replacement coming in.

And it`s hard to blame Torres actually because he is asked to play in a way that wastes his talent. He is basically forced to play like Didier Drogba, scrapping with defenders and fighting for every longball from Cech, Luiz etc. But he is not that kind of player and never will be but i truly appreciate his commitment. Shame we sent over best suited striker for the job in Lukaku out on loan...

I think that's true to a certain extent, only because I believe that when Danny gets his chance he'll be able to flourish even though he plays a similar style to the Fernando torres of old. There's just no hunger there anymore, plain and simple. Many great players get injured and are put in these kind of situations but they always end up adapting and its because of that hunger to thrive.

FALCAO would not have scored for us today. Torres is getting absolutely no service despite all our so called creative players.

I'm a big supporter of torres and even I'll admit torres missed a sitter in the first half!

I promised myself to stay out of these threads, and now I remember why. What an absolutly ridiculious statement to make, he may not be playing great but he works his bollox off for the team, and if there was no hunger why on earth would he be annoyed about being taken off last week?

Are you serious ? of course he has hunger, the guy is working hard and i can guarantee you this , he is more annoyed than anyone right now with his lack of goals.

Didn't have a good game today.

What game did you watch? He wasn't great but he worked hard most of the game, when defences such as Stoke and others pack the centre of the 18 yard box I am not sure why we we continue to batter our heads against the wall and try and go through the centre; he or anyone else acting as a lone forward is not going to get much, even City scored only one goal. I think we made it harder on ourselves as we had to many of our own men in the same space he would otherwise occupy, everything was crowded today and I lost count how many times Ivan was in the Stokes box running around like a headless chicken...however, did he miss a great opportunity in the first half..yes...but that was about the only chance he had all game....not defending him but to say he didn't have a good game is a bit harsh I think.

Perhaps you should have watched the first 35

Well can't totally agree with that statement....he did get some service but for the most part he had his back to goal and the best he could do was lay it off or lose it from the defenders around him, he can't play like that. One thing that Falcao would not have done is work as hard as Torres defensively and win the ball back, Falcao is the guy who will put the ball in the net for you no doubt but today might have been tough for him to do that also....I still say he will be gone in January if he can't start putting the ball in the net on a regular basis, despite his overall team play he wasn't bought for that reason, he was bought to put the ball in the 'ol onion bag'. He might have more luck against Arsenal as they won't be so defensively minded as Stoke.

this thread should read why cant torres score... if we'r saying he's getting no service then is it the manaers fault? is it the players behind him? is it a combo?

at the end of the day there is a problem, some one needs to be accountable, one things for sure, if he continues to play and not score robbie is to blame one way or another, becaues he either fixes it or changes it, no action is the wrong action

Lukaku scored today. As such, people have obviously been asking why we sent him out instead of keeping him to replace Torres.

There was a chance he got where he was through but took a bad first touch and fluffed the chance, and I thought to myself "oh jesus christ", not because I thought he'd done badly (mistakes happen etc.) but because I'm just so used to our striker getting absolutely murdered on here when they make a mistake.

Lukaku would never get the majority of the starts here. Sending him to a team where he's competing with the likes of Shane Long and Markus Rosenberg for minutes was a great move. A year at West Brom and he should be ready to play a significant role for us. We made the right call.

Sigh. Another game another attempt to dribble through 8 players, another botched chance and another 'good all round effort'.

We can't win the title with him leading the line. It's simple. He is just not the player he was and waiting for that player to return is like waiting for Godot.
