We definitely need a new DM, considering we will be left with Rami, Mikel and Luiz to fill two positions (and Luiz will play CB most games). However, I would hate us spending 20 mil on a 27 year old and stifle the development of the future Chelsea captain.

I think he's probably ready for some involvement. when romeu's fit we could loan him out and give chalobah his spot in the squad. he's earned his chance.

id be ecstatic if our board would put their faith into chalobah, but theres no chance.

 

roman 1st will have a problem with him not being bought for +20m and if mourinho comes i doubt he will give him a chance

Funny that you posted that. I read a tweet from Bison Essien giving Young Chalobah some love. Excellent strike from him today & the best thing about the celebration...He ran to Zola & showed him some love too!!! I have been watching Watford matches this season because of these two. I hope to see both in the EPL next season. Hell I would love them both to come back to the Blues too. Fire FSW & hire Zola. Our Youth would benefit from this!!

For the likes of Chalobah to succeed at Chelsea we need to change mentality, give the new manager the freedom to play him  , adopt the Wenger mode 4th place will do. We have an extremely talented crop of youngsters that need time to learn the game, allow them to mature and who knows we may just have a team capable of challenging for the top, bred at the bridge.

Completely agree with you both here.  Fellaini is a decent player, but I'd much rather go with Chalobah than spunk money on him.  The lad actually has the making of a decent player, but he also has the making of a fan favourite.  Academy lad, goes off to learn from Zola, comes back and makes his way into the first team: he'd be a favourite the moment he stepped on the pitch.

That strike of his was ridiculously good.

CHalobah is only 18 and he's bossing the Championship. In 4-5 years time he'll be right up there with the likes of Toure and Peak-Essien

Chalobah has been incredible for them this season. I reckon he could do a job for us. If Man United can use cleverly in midfield, then we can definitely use Chalobah.
