To be honest i don't care what rival fans think. There is nothing wrong with showing displeasure at seeing someone you think of as one as your greatest players to ever play for the club go and join one of your rivals.

I know where you're coming from, it's rather like infedelity; what you feel is more important than what others think about what you feel. ' If you really loved me you'd be happy for me to go to a n other /man/woman/club...' it just doesn't sit well.

Terry never flirted with City at all, that was just the papers making things up because Terry's contract was almost up. At no point did Terry say or even give a hint that he wanted out of Chelsea.

Back to Cech. Him wanting to leave is not the issue i have, i think he has been brilliant for us and he is a world class keeper so of course he is going to want to keep playing first team football. But if he did feel anything towards us Chelsea fans then he wouldn't join a club the fans can't stand.

Being loyal isn't just him being at the club for a long time helping us win things, he is doing that for himself more than anything else. Someone who is loyal wouldn't jump to another club who the fans can't stand.

When Ashley Cole joined us were you or anyone else saying he wasn't disloyal to Arsenal ? i bet you weren't. Everyone at the time realised that Ashley Cole had no loyalty to Arsenal by joining us. When Van Persie joined Man United many people on here were saying that he wasn't loyal, the same goes for many other players that have gone and left their clubs for their rivals. Why is it when it's a Chelsea player doing it we start making excuses for it ?

It makes a big difference if the player switching clubs is at the peak of his footballing ability and is first choice. Van Persie and Ashley Cole switched when they were still amazing players. Lamps and Cech were/are no longer first choice and will only give their declining years to another club. Hence the excuses.

It's inevitable that he'll leave the club but I pray it's not Arsenal! Cech has been an awesome goalkeeper for us since 2004 but I don't blame him if he wants more opportunities elsewhere.

Assuming he did join Arsenal, my opinion of him won't change and we'll move on. Best case scenario if he does leave is he moves abroad away from England as it already hurts seeing another legend in Frank playing at Manchester City albeit via a loan move.

I think football fans can get a bit selfish regarding players moving on. It may well be Cech, and family, are well settled in London and have no desire to relocate. Therefore a move to Arsenal (if it were to happen) makes perfect sense.

Do we honestly think he should move his family to a different country to spare our fragile eggshell sensitivity?

I hope he stays but wish him the very best whatever he decides to do.

Jose reports that not once has Petr Cech knocked on his door to inform him of a desire to accept any proposals. #CFC

Jose says there are zero proposals from other clubs to sign Petr Cech. He says the player has contract & is a fantastic professional. #CFC

Making these kind of difficult but necessary decisions we are destined for titles. Petr is such a big person most young and old players should look at him and see what professionalism and dedication means.

Tough decision by JM to pick Thibaut before Petr but it shouldn't be easy. Not here to make east decisions.

It's funny cause I didn't hear anyone talk how it would effect costa's family moving from Spain to England in the summer.

Footballers move about alot, I can't see it being a deal breaker. It's not as if cech is London born and bred. Football is a shirt career, im sure cech will choose a club based on sporting reasons, and hopefully he will take his chelsea affinity into consideration.

That maybe so but everybody is different and has different priorities. Cech, for example, has two kids who are of school age. Now kids can move school easily but maybe he wouldn't want to.

I would never expect a player to put the fans before what he feels is best for his family. Not saying this is the case with Cech, just saying it is a possibility.

If cech does end up at Arsenal for the sole reason he couldn't move his family then fair enough. I do think though that footballers generally seem to have no problem moving their families for either a, a big rise, or b, a better sporting challenge.

How many players would turn down a move to real madrid, or a massive pay rise for family reasons. Very few I suspect.

I will say one thing though, if there is any footballer that would put all that aside for theit family, it would be Petr Cech, who comes across as real down to earth gentlemen.

I think Costa is in the position where is priority is to make money and progress his career. Cech's priority are probably different (obviously I'm guessing), and keeping his family life settled may be a priority, as well as wanting to stay in a nice city.

Maybe so, everyone is different, drogba and anelka went to China at similar stages of their career to Cech's. At the end of the day there isn't much point speculating about his family, unless this all comes to fruition.

I think we should stop speculating any further. José rubbished all these rumours yesterday about him leaving and stuff. And in a much funny way.

To quote him: " Cech leaving? Who's saying that? In which Mickey Mouse website? In which Mickey Mouse blog?".

Like he did with Mata?.

To be honest, i am just tired of seeing some of our greatest players joining clubs the fans hate or our directs rivals. Joe Cole to Liverpool, Mata to United, Lampard to City and now possibly Cech to Arsenal, f**king Arsenal of all clubs, it doesn't get much worse than that.

The Cech and Courtois thing has nothing to do with us fans, that is a decision made by Mourinho. Us fans shouldn't have to pay for that by seeing one of our greatest ever players join those lot.

If players had any love for the fans that have supported them over the years i don't understand why they would want to hurt them by playing for one of their direct rivals or clubs that they hate.

Just imagine if Terry came out and said he wanted to join Arsenal, this to me is almost as bad.

For me it depends on their options.

Joey Cole and Lampard were in a steep decline prior to leaving and didn't have a wealth of options, and ended up at probably the only big clubs willing to take a punt on them (or in Lampard's case, got loaned to them).

Mata again was different as I get the feeling we only sold him because Jose knew they were grossly overpaying and that no-one else would be desperate enough to pay that much for a bench player, again no other options.

Cech for me is different because I do not believe for a second that a major club like PSG, Real, or one of the top Serie A sides wouldn't want him.

Coming back to Courtious, I haven't seen anything yet that makes him stand out as a world class keeper. I know he's a good keeper and his catching is good but I haven't seen anything that makes him better than Cech.

Personally I think Courtois dominates the area very well.

He isn't afraid to come and take responsibility on crosses... Very willing to come off of his line and he will catch rather than punch.

He uses his size well too.

It all sounds very basic for a goalkeeper but it's surprising how many goalkeepers don't do these things.

Is he better than Cech? I don't know but I think a decision was made in that he is 10 years Cech's junior and so could in theory be our first choice goalkeeper for the next 10-15 years.

Not many clubs have the level of stability and continuity we have had with Cech but we have the opportunity to again have the same goalkeeper playing for us for the next decade and I think it was too good and opportunity for the club to pass on seeing as the current team seems to be built for the long, rather than the short term.

Well his 'catching' when the ball is put into the box is already better than Cech's. He dominates that area as well as any keeper I've ever seen and always looks to catch the ball and take pressure of the defenders.

As it is he hasn't had to do a tremendous amount because we've been winning games in recent weeks, but he's made some absolute world-class saves especially in the match at Old Trafford and from Nugent at home to Leicester.

Is he better than Cech?

Cech at his best? Debateable.

Cech now? Absolutely.
